Should we consider selling Pogba?

I can assure you Zidane won’t play him as a DM.

I still do not understand why he hasn’t played as COM yet. He can’t defend and is, or at least used to be, phenomenal offensively. I don’t care how Deschamps uses him or how he played in Juventus. How the feck can José and Ole only use him as DM?!? It blows my mind. He’s not a box-to-box midfielder and he makes to much mistakes and doesn’t get to use his best qualities to be starting the build up from a DM position. Now with Bruno in the team you might as well sell Pogba IMO. What a waste of talent. His time in United has been a disaster compared to his potential. It’s sad really.

And if memory serves he was looking for a way out even then but was told he was going nowhere, and bugger me his form went right down the pan where its been ever since.
"Mate" Ive been a season ticket holder for 50 years, and will still be one once we're allowed back in the ground.

I’ve always been against selling Pogba as he does have that genuine quality that we’ve never had from another player in the team.

However, I am more comfortable with letting him go now that we have VDB. I’ve seen enough of VDB to see how class he is. It’s so frustrating seeing him get little game time when he’s actually one of our best players in the squad. I genuinely believed VDB would be more consistent and effective than Pogba in our midfield right now. Once he gets the run of games, it will be very evident how good and capable he is in playing with Bruno.

As good as he is, this tweet sums up the problem I think.

His passing can literally be world class. Excellent, brilliant, whatever word you want can be used to describe his ability. Yet, here we are. And we've been here before. Several times.

I said it last January that he is finished as a top level footballer. No big club will buy him.

He will leave on a free in 2022.

Are people's memories really that weak? It's been but 11 years when we faced a similar situation. And the player walked right back into the team (rightly so).

Ronaldo was the best player in the world and had just lead United to Champions League glory.

Ferguson was publicly angry with Madrid's tactics to unsettled and poach the player. But Ferguson and Ronaldo made an agreement that he'd stay another year to retain the Champions League then has his transfer.

Ronaldo wasn't making public statements each time he went on international duty.

If Pogba wants his Madrid move he should be honest with Ole, tell the club he's off next summer and that for the next 8 months he'll respect the club and play to his ability and not talk crap in interviews

Said this long before his latest comments but yes.

Sorry Utd fans but overall he's been a poor signing. Not delivered on the hype other than a couple of purple patches (most of which contained a load of pens). Spent more time injured or underperforming.

He's no longer Utd's best creative influence and he hasn't developed the rest of his game to compensate. You could really do with a press-resistant midfielder that can drive the ball up field from deep, but too often he's caught on the half-turn in dangerous areas and defensively he doesn't know how to track a runner.

The saving grace is that they'll still likely make a profit on him (maybe? Can't remember what his contract situation is).
I'm convinced Van De Beek will be a more effective player in the long term. Sell and buy a Matic replacement and new CB with the funds.

I for one is sick of hearing that he loves Real and Juventus. If he doesn't want to be here sell him and let the money go towards Upamecano or Sancho. We need players that really want to play for the badge. I know many won't like to hear this, but ffs it keeps coming from him or his agent every year. I'm fed up with it and so too must the players feel the same.

Paul Pogba, a Legend in his own lunch time.

Agree and thats why I try to look at things objectively. If we are aren't going to play him in his position then what is the point. Complete fantasy to think Pogba is some superhuman do it all midfielder, he is not.

Just such a waste of time for all involved.

I feel for the guy and our club in equal measure. Such a simple problem to solve. If you first admit you have a problem. Which is that managers are playing him out of position. (surprisingly he excels when they don't).

Mate I was a season ticket holder throughout the 2000's only getting rid of it in 2014.

I pick and choose my games these days but I never miss a match because I have sky and the Internet. My view is no different than yours, in fact with replays it's better.

Such a stupid comment, we all know he's capable of the sublime but the issues isn't in his feet it's in his head. The Pogba of the Bournmouth match at Old Trafford is the player we all want to see, one touch, two touch football. We don't want the greedy man who thinks he can carry the ball out from his own half, he can't do it and he gets caught on the ball all the time.

He's become a liability within the team, I'd love to see the stats for how many chances against us from Pogba's loss of possession.

Even in his most productive year his stats were hugely blown up by a period of time his form went through the roof. It was about a two month period and it wasn't long before that form disappeared.

We shouldnt be accepting his behaviour full stop, if he was turning in record numbers like Ronaldo he'd be getting more respect from the fans but he's not.

Its that simple.
I think you may need to chill out a bit here, you're getting a little heated it seems.
Maybe your negative feelings about Pogba are clouding your judgement.

He's a class player, capable of brilliance and is actually a consistent player, however when he is off form it is really amplified due to how out if place it looks.
Yes, he can be careless with the ball on occasions but so can Matic, Fred etc so to claim he's a liability is just simple laughable.

Personally I'd drop him right now for a few games, them comments are unacceptable, if good attitude is shown on the training ground then he can work his way back in the starting 11.

Thats precisly what the management want him to be and precisely what he isn't. I say precisely but they would also like him to play the regista. Again he can't.

Just sell him. Bruno coming in has fecked him quite honestly. And now with Donny.

Shit management I am sorry to say.

Really not a good look for him saying this considering his woeful performance against spurs and his team getting blasted 6-1.

We need to sell this guy asap, but who on earth is paying 90m+ for him in this climate, his original contract expires in 8 months and i am sure we will trigger the 1 extra year so max 1.8 years left, thats quite scary, the club need to either get him to sign a new contract before January or all parties agree a transfer is the best route, we'd be lucky to get 80m for him.

Madrid are not paying that money so he can forget that, Juventus might be able to find a way, they usually do or PSG might be an option too, can clearly afford it and he's a global marketing dream which seems to be a big deal to them and would probably tear up the french league.

once Mou got fired, Paul was the best player during that OGS-as-caretaker run ..consequently the role turned full-time.

ok, you’re incurable.

Paul is great.

Alan Smith was better than this self obsessed, lazy, clueless fraud.

feck off

Unfortunately there is absolutely no chance of making a profit. No club actually wants him. We’ll be making a huge loss on him, especially now with COVID.

What is he then? He is not a regista. He is not a DM. He is not a #10(cant play with back to goal, and poor workrate). He is a 8, who cant be the sole creator or the team, or provide any sort of defensive cover. Basically he is a luxury player.

I'm a huge Pogba fan, and have always defended him. He is world class on his day. But his performances are so average most of the time. And post covid, the quality drop has been massive.

He is poor at chasing his dreams, if he thinks his performances for a long time now, are getting him closer to Madrid. Just give us a magnificent year, eat, sleep, train football and show us why you should've been worth your wages. Then you can go with pride.

Honestly, I found his interview with France very disappointing. Instead of owning up for lack of form and thanking for the trust he is given from the manager regain it, he goes on talking about Real Madrid. Ok, so he talked about Man Utd to. But his head isn’t where it should be, and that is working hard to get back to where he needs to be. I always had faith in his talent and thought he should be our player. Now I think he has a short time to prove himself, or he should go. We can’t afford it anymore.

I honestly can't wait to see the back of him. A flop for 90M. Watching him play gives me a pain in the head. Dawdling on the ball in the centre of the pitch. Always trying the wrong thing at the wrong time. That pen he gave away against Spurs was absolutely pathetic. Needs to be dropped.

We should sell him at the first available opportunity. We should also drop him for the next match following his Madrid comments.

I have had enough of Paul Pogba.

I agree.

It would be best for both, we can't seem to utilize him well and he's getting to an age where he has to move, it's on his mind to get gone sooner than later and I doubt we'll see him truly motivated at OT. United will have to take a loss, he's worth what someone else is prepared to pay and he's not impressing people out there enough.

I'd rather he went soon while he has some years left. I don't want the club to make him leave on a free and the whole world blame us for wasting Pogba's remaining years and grinding out two more years. Let the fecker go.

What a cnut, we get walloped 6-1 by spurs, After that what we needed is unity and everyone to pull together, backs to the wall and shoulders to the pumps, then he comes out and start spouting this shit again.I have said it before on here many times we will never do any good while this poison twat in the dressing room.

Clear him out asap and move on. We need people that dream of Old Trafford not Madrid.

Yes for me he is an 8. Sometimes 10. Impact sub. And also good in counter attackimg setup.
