Should Javier Hernandez be content with his current role?

Wouldn't blame him if he leaves as he deserves to start more games.

Would be gutted if he left

Doesn't even feature from the bench now for anything more than 3 minutes. Feel quite bad for him as his goals have won us at least 7 points (Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle) yet he's not featured at all recently.

Wonder what he's done when other players can be so shit yet still play every week.

I can't for the life of me understand why he was ignored today, with his record against Chelsea.

I'd be him, I'd start to make noise (behind closed doors) about having the right to play more.It seems unfair the way he's been treated but then again SAF knows best

RvP was pointless the whole match today, Hernandez should have been on for the last 20-30 mins.

If I was Chicharito I'd put in a transfer request as soon as I was done in the shower. Not that he needs to shower sent on at 90 minutes to run around a bit just like last week. Its amazing the guy has scored some crucial goals for United, many this season, 16 strikes in barely any starts and he gets token appearances. B.S.

We could lose a valuable player for reasons that are beyond me. I can think of others who don't deserve to play at the expense of Chicarito.

Feels like Nistelrooy and Berba's all over again. Maybe we are really looking to add new striker after all.

I'd leave if I was him.

Fergie's treating him like utter shite.

Today didn't really matter tbh. He can play the last two games of the seasons, because just like today or last week at Arse, those games didn't matter one bit. If he wants to leave because he didn't have a role that he's satisfied with at the club, that would be because of what happened before we won the league, ie. the games that actually mattered.

Great performance today, really made a difference in the last three minutes.

His stoppage time touches were sublime. Got close to the ball maybe 2 or 3 times and looked confident every one of 'em.

I love Chicha and would love to see him playing at United for the rest of his career, but I understand if he wants to move in the summer. Hopefully he will talk with SAF and see what Fergie's plans are about him, but it's really un-explainable why he has had only so few chances this year. His goal per minutes ratio is better than to everyone else on the team, he has been brilliant into those few chances he had, Fergie acknowledged that but then not only he didn't played Chicha more (in fact played him even less), but then gave him only 5 minutes in the two last matches which were completely non important. I would have been pissed off if I was in Chicha's shoes.

You have a point but I don't agree with everything, a footballer (specially like Chicharito) thrives on any minutes he's given.Whether the match matters or doesn't.We have the perfect opportunity to give some starts as the title was already in the bag since the Villa game.
If you don't do it now that games don't matter, when will you ?

Needs to start the next match. Don't care if we play with 3 strikers. He needs to play instead of valencia.

I genuinely think at this minute Hernandez wide right would offer more than Valencia. He can, after all, kick the ball in a straight line to a teammate and is willing to run at players with speed.

I swear its like we've got Ronaldo on the bench the way people talk about Hernandez

I'm not a big fan of Hernandez wide but I don't see why either he or Rooney couldn't have started out wide. Both would give at least similar levels of protection as Mata gave chelsea and you'd argue that we had more workrate in cm as well.

I think it's a fair point what others have said that a few games at the end of the season wouldn't swing Hernandez's decision making, not now there's nothing to play for. But I think it wouldn't be surprising if he wasn't a little frustrated at still not getting minutes when others could play well of their game and still get in. Hopefully he'll play the next few games but I don't see RVP being benched and Rooney/Welbeck are gonna want games as well.

I think it reflects well on United fans that they sympathise with his situation, actually. It's not entirely sentimental either given that he's been such a useful player to have, has played well this year and that Fergie promised his squad members games at this point of the season.

What a stupid post, no he isn't on Ronaldo's level but he deserves playing time. Fergie is obsessed with playing RVP all the time and wont give Hernandez any decent game time. He should go during the summer for his career sake.

But I don't think he could find a place at a better club than ours.

Don't know. The chair's in the bench of Juventus and Bayern seems very comfortable. Really it is un-explainable to me what the hell is going on? I don't remember a player being treated as unfairly as him at United. Especially considering that he never whined and looks like someone who genuinely loves United.

if he understands his roll, his talent level, who he is behind, wants to keep winning trophys, then yes. if he wants to sacrifice the big picture for a little more playing time then no.

Does this even make sense. It's not that he is not playing every game, it is because he is barely playing, especially in the second half of the season. I think that he would be a starter in most of the clubs and he would have more playing time than in United in every club. We don't play him when the game matter, we don't play him when the game doesn't matter.

Okay. Based on that performance, I really am bemused why Cheech only got a sniff at the end there. Rvp is top scorer and he's played in his fair share of games. Why not give Hernandez a run out for a change? Goodness Sir Alex. Throwing the lad on for the last few minutes of the game. It's like he's taking the lad for granted.

i'd love to see him more but then SA plays only one up top its not going to be hernandez. he'd be a second, or third striker almost anywhere he went. I hope he stays United.

Sir Alex loves to rotate players, but somehow this is not possible for RVP. Regardless if he is playing good or bad, if he is scoring or not and if the game is important or meaningless he seems to play. No-one is arguing that Chicha should be our No.1 striker in favor of RVP, but he should have had more games.

Second or third striker anywhere?0 How many strikers are better than him at the moment? People are forgetting that he was a first team choice at United in his debut season, he has scored 16 goals this season barely playing, it's not like he is that bad to don't deserve to start a single game.

I'd understand if he would want to leave. He's too good and has top good a goalscoring record to play so few games. Rvp has been our best player this season but I don't see why he needs to play even these pointless games that Hernandez could be playing.

This place is fecking nuts. One minute Hernandez shouldn't be playing because his first touch, build up play, passing and crossing are shite. Now he should leave because he didn't get as many games this season as he did in the seasons when he supposedly was not good enough to be starting.

Yeah I think there might be a few people posting here rather than just one with all these varying opinions. Could be wrong.

Did he not provide a wicked assist for RvP against Wigan from wide right?!

I think the bolded part could well be the case, and it is totally wrong.

If Van Persie picked up a shocker of an injury then this fella's goals would be absolutely crucial. His lack of gametime pisses me off because I saw a player earlier in the season who was improving his game and providing genuine drive and excitement to the team. I was at the Braga game at OT and he was the best player on the pitch....dragged United to victory.

Ferguson has this addiction to strikers...either ones he has always admired, flavour of the month cases etc. We all love great strikers but he seems to want to chop and change frequently and there is always a fall guy. I mean he has bought something like seven strikers since 2007.....and no central midfielders. Maybe it is that he loves to add strikers. If Hernandez is pushed out.....even inadvertently.....I think it will be a big mistake and a huge disappointment for supporters who hold genuine affection for the guy.

You know exactly what I mean. I'm talking about lots of people having the same opinion and most of those saying the exact opposite a few months later.

I can guarantee you that quite a few of the people who were saying he isn't good enough to be a regular starter are now in here crying that he doesn't start enough and should leave.

Now, did I really need to explain that to you or were you just being a walt?

Like me :( He certainly does have an addiction to strikers. Why I wouldn't bat an eyelid if we signed Lewandowski.

RVP has become so untouchable that he doesn't even get rested...

It was bizarre enough in an 11 game barren spell, Rooney gets stuck on the bench or in midfield, Hernandez can't get a game to save his life. Now we have nothing to play for, still, RVP up front on his own..
