Short-term LB signing?

Who’s everyone’s preferred choice? Been linked with a number of LB in a couple of days.

Fairly certain that I remember reading Tagliafico didn't like Ten Hag and criticized his approach to squad players who weren't key to his plans
I remember something along those lines and thought he actually dropped him.

The best LB talent we can get, not another useless signing because ETH has worked with them before.

Which is who? That ain’t one of the options by the looks of it. Either Cucurella, Alonso, Reguillon or Tagliafico

You do realize that it is just the media who keep linking us to every former ETH player. Blame lazy journalism rather than the manager. Most of the links are utter BS made up to drive clicks.

Exactly, what's the point of our fabled youth academy if we can't even rely on the talent to be 3rd/4th choice back up.

If he's 20 and not ready for the first team, he never will be.
OK, he may not have been gently blooded into the team, but if we don't trust him at 20 why is he at the club ?

I doubt he did.

Press says we are interested
Then say we made an offer
Then the offer is rejected

None of it is true but it is 3 days of lovely web traffic for the media and the fan outrage it causes is just the cherry on top.

Dammit i am the cherry

So Ten Hag thought Tagliafico wasn't good enough to start at Ajax 2 years ago and now wants him for United. Seems logical. Maybe Erik should just focus on coaching instead of deciding who to buy? :nervous:

Theoretically, if City would entertain the idea, how would people feel about Cancelo? Doesn't seem to have a future at City and is being sent out on loan again. It's sad to admit but I don't think City view us as a threat currently, so they might not be opposed to the idea. I imagine the thought of getting a City player in might be a bitter pill for some to swallow though.

Shaw’s injury must be much worse than we’ve been led to believe. If he’s really only out for a few weeks, Dalot can get us through those few weeks.

I noticed Robinson was in the team for Fulham in the Carabao yesterday. I don’t know if that means he is second string, but I’ve always been a fan and wouldn’t mind him here at all.

No idea why we loaned out Tierney as he is quality but I think he would have been a good stand in replacement for United. Of course we wouldn't loan him to you, but he fits you like a glove IMO.
We are signing LB because two of ours are injured..

Dalot will be the starting left-back. He's mediocre but he's world-class compared to Reguilon, especially defensively.

Worse than Cucurella for the inverted FB role. Which is what we needed given AWB is always flat due to being pretty awful on the ball.

Reguilon is dreadful and can't get near the Spurs team but we'll be starting him. Going to be a long season.

Get Rachel Riley to say she'll stop supporting us if he's signed. That'll do it.
