Shkodran Mustafi.

This guy is amazing on FM but has generally looked horrible for Valencia this season.

Quite the bargain if the number's right.
The number is not right. Suso said yesterday that Valencia have no need to sell players and will not sell unless a player himself wants to leave. Ofcourse the exception are players who are no longer required by the team. So Mustafi will cost around 50m euros as his release clause. There are reports that Barca want to sign him if Mascherano leaves for Juventus.

On the contrary Mustafi has been one of the few bright lights in a horrible season.

He would be as expensive as Laporte, Marquinhos or Stones. He had some decent games last season, but not too impressive as I have seen him before.

How do you rate Mustafi compared with Manolas, Stones and Koulibaly?

Great header against Ukraine. He also set off that counter attack with a lovely interception that led to Germany's second goal.

Agreed to personal terms with Arsenal. He's exactly what they need, and now they're really just one signing away (CF) from turning the Prem into a 3 way race.

Good signing for them. Now if Wenger would stop being stingy with Lacazette, they'd have an excellent squad for the coming season.

superb signing that won't break the bank. all they need now is a killer forward and more luck with injuries. are they contenders? of course they are. and so are liverpool. this is going to be a very exciting season that will be decided on the coaching front. mou vs pep vs klopp vs wenger. fireworks galore.

I dont rate him highly, although i just watched him for Germany, not really much at Valencia. I think he still has nightmares of Pogba, bring him in.

he's been steadily improving from a nobody to an international who has been a key player for valencia. he's only 24. fast, versatile (can play right fullback), makes the odd goal. decent on the ball. i think he's an upgrade over mertesacker. not yet a worldbeater, but rock solid nonetheless.

And Everton let him go for nowt

Obvious transfer that should have been done a month ago. Instead they have agreed terms 2 days before and have him missing an important tie versus Liverpool.

Spurs and Chelsea are both better than pool, and of those three only Chelsea are contenders.

If they get him and Lacazette the title race is going to be really interesting this year. They haven't changed manager, so they could do really well.

Would be a good signing for Arsenal. If they also manage to get Mahrez and a new #9 they'll compete for the title.

Manolas snubbed as well.

Everton have agreed a £500,000 deal with AEK Athens for their Greek defender Kostas Manolas.

The Toffees have also agreed personal terms with the 20-year-old centre-back.

However, the transfer is on standby as Everton wait to see how much of their transfer budget might be taken up by the prospective signing of striker Nikica Jelavic from Rangers.

nobody knows for sure. this has got to be the hardest to anticipate season in a long time. a lot of pieces have moved on the chessboard and the new power players have yet to emerge. totally forgot about chelsea, conte is a solid coach.

How good is he?! Would he make them better?! I guess he would be an upgrade on Per.. But other than that anyone can tell me more about him. I think I've seen very little or nothing of him to make an opinion. Thanks

He improves them a lot. Much better player than Gabriel.

I think that’s exactly the reason they won’t. I mean they’ll of course do ”well” in terms of finishing either 3rd or 4th, but that’s it.

Better signing than Stones, if the price isn't too high fair play to arsenal.

I think some are underrating Arsenal. If they really do get Lacazette, Mahrez and Mustafi in their summer will have been a very good summer. Xhaka is an excellent acquisition too. If these guys are all obtained they have no real weaknesses in their positions (apart from maybe LB? I am not entirely sure but apparently Monreal is solid?).

Monreal is more than just solid, best fullback at our club and for me one of the best LB in the country.

Hopefully we can get this deal over the line, don't know that much about him but from what I've read fits the profile of the type of player we need there.

How many of you who have commented he is a good signing watch valencia ? Have you ever seen him play regularly apart from in Euros? I think most are talking out of their arse about how good he is or is not. Anyone who has watched him regularly wants to comment on him?

Xhaka, Mustafi, Mahrez and Lacazette is £140m+, Wenger isn't going to do that.

You wouldn't have even seen this signing if Gabriel hadn't of got injured and Koscielny wasn't a crock nowadays.

This was not directed at me but Wenger does not have the tactical flexibility to win the league.

You cannot play every game the same way unless you are far superior to all of your opponents.

Arsenal will never have a far better team than everyone else in the PL under Wenger and therefore he will never win the league as Arsenal manager.

never win it again you mean? After all, he does know how to win a league.

Yes, I meant never again.

I feel he was less set in his ways tactically back when he won the league.

Arsenal back then also had a physical and mental edge to their teams in the past that Wenger does not seem interested in replicating in his current Arsenal team.

There won't be two more attacking players imo, I think we will only sign one more.

I think we were going to sign a CB no matter what, been strongly the injuries have forced us to act quicker rather than faff around for the rest of August trying to knock some money off the deal. I think it was clear last season Gabriel isn't up to it yet, guy started ok but has not really pushed on since.
