Notice how he's still watching United?

Could be watching Shitty, but no, boring old United. ..

I have the City game on in the background too, it's quite enjoyable seeing them have 25% possession at home and getting booed by their fans at half time.

FFS we are winning away from home is a very hard tie.
It was not a shit first half, OK there was mistakes and we gave away the ball too much , but it was far from being a shit first half.

We are winning away, and it's very nice to be ahead at HT and indeed score from open play. Disappointing that it was our only shot on target, and we had very little threat other than that. No creativity up front, and we look reluctant to try and take adventage of Shaktar pushing forward.

Sitting back after 20 minutes is dangerous.

Cleverley's performance has been a positive. Perhaps the best thing in signinig Fellaini is the competition in CM.

I'm not being racist, but Arabian Pringles adverts are terrible.

Think we'll need another goal, I wouldn't mind seeing Valencia drop back into the middle and Kagawa come on for Fellaini at some point. Think we could do with the extra mobility in. The middle of the park an Valencia plays there for Ecuador.

Shakhtar suddenly turn up the gears sometimes for a few moments. It could be dangerous. Also those cnuts have ball boys ready with the throw ins. feckers take the throw in as soon as the ball leaves the pitch. One second of day dreaming could prove costly.

They are still dangerous on the counter but a far cry from what they were a year ago. Losing three key players really has cost them.

We look pretty organised tonight. This was always going to be all about taking our chances and staying well organised, such is their record at home. Solid stuff.

Good display so far. Fellaini the only one who's playing poorly so far. Fouling pretty much everytime he gets close to the ball (not always his fault though).
Vidic and Rafael make us so much better compared to anyone else we put there. We need to start playing Fabio at right back as Rafael's backup though, because Jones/Smalling hinder us offensively when they play there.

I seriously wonder if people on this website have the slightest clue about football. Shaktar is not an easy place to go and play football. Arsenal and Chelsea have both gone their and lost recently and people are complaining because we're winning. Jesus wept.

I wonder what Arabian Pringles taste like. I like when companies try to sum up an entire culture's tastes in food using one crisp flavour. Chinese chicken, I had recently. It sort of tasted like curry, but with a weird garlic aftertaste.

Exactly. We can't have everything, we played like this away from home countless times under SAF as well.

feck me. David May on Setanta. Is this a regular thing? Haven't seen him in ages. Fully expect to see him on Denis Wise's shoulders if we score again.

Well, we were lucky and Welbeck pounced and took it well. Other than that it would be 0-0 and a fairly mediocre performance apart from Vidic

Just seen the Bayern goal, yet another clanger by Hart. What's going on with him he used to be solid.

I agree with all of this.

We weren't especially lucky and 0-0 would also be a perfectly good result here.

I've realised I don't actually enjoy watching United when I'm concurrently reading the matchday threads on here. The reactions are so negative I wonder why half of you even bother watching United. Imagine what you'd be like if we were actually shit.

Funny though, even when we scored there was barely any movement by anyone bar the player with the ball. Good reaction by Welbeck though, reflexes of a rapist..?

Can you read in those two posts that it's the performance which isn't that bright? Being 1:0 up is nice. The performance is worrying because there are 45 minutes to go.

We were very lucky. That was dire defending. If Evra or Smalling did that there'd be 3 pages about it

I don't think I've seen that much to suggest to me we couldn't have one more attacking player on the pitch personally and it's always a risk allowing yourself to be too defensive. Vidic and Smalling doing well so far though.

Giggs. Meltdown in 3.2....
