Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Manchester United

I know I often bash Fellaini, but a serious question now. Is he the most immobile player we've had?
No, its just more Fellani bash bullshit from you as you know damn well we had a player called Berbatov

All in all not a bad half at all. Didn't create much but got a good goal. Apart from the corner we didn't bother defending which led to the penalty call we defended really well.

We started decently and we were in control until the goal. Since then we've been way too sloppy in possession, we're inviting Shakhtar onto us, not a good idea.

Need to focus more and sort out the passing. No need to hoof it forward every time, it's a bit like watching England at the moment, especially with this all-white kit.

Good half result-wise.. We need a breather now though and hopefully start the second half the way we started the first..

Love nights like these when the muppets on here who complain "OMGZ WTF SHIT LINEUP!!!" end up looking like right tits.

Moyes has got it absolute spot on tonight. Fantastic performance, most working really hard out there and keeping the shape brilliantly for the most part. Tough place to go.

Solid first half. Defence and Cleverley have impressed. Would like to see us press on and try create more in the next half.

Very solid indeed.

Fellaini has not been good, but I do like the idea of I this 3 man midfield in some games. So let's see if it can develop.

Clev and Welbeck have been good, Smalling and Vidic is my current fav defensive partnership

I thought we played very well in that first half. Every player did his job well. Fellaini fecked up a bit when he should have controlled the ball better, but he was also getting freekicks given against him just for being tall, which doesn't help.

I think he'd be close matched in a foot race with 34 yr old Rio Ferdinand.

I do like Fellaini, but on the same pitch as all these nippy Brazilians, he looks like he's stuck in the mud.

I'm not bashing him I'm asking a serious question. Berba was more mobile than Fellaini, when he got going he had a good gallop. So stop trying to be aggressive an accept I was seriously asking the question, is he the most immobile player we've had?

Decent half from us. Looked quite solid and Welbeck got that goal at a good time. We need to try and retain possession a bit better though. We're letting them turn the pressure up every time we give away the ball. Fellaini in particular is getting himself in trouble. If we can do better on the counter we can score another one and get some distance in the match.

It would've worked better if you put the white text in the actual post you know.

Yeh I pressed "post" before I could do it, then accidentally clicked "quote" not "edit" and didn't realise.

I guess I am a retard...

Cleverley looks infinitely more comfortable when he's not paired in a two man midfield with Carrick.

I wouldn't mind seeing this formation more often with Rooney and Nani coming in for Welbeck and Valencia. Will also give us some solidity in the middle.

Good solid first half. Fellaini has been a bit disappointing with some of his passes. Cleverley has been good. The best thing I like about goal is, Welbeck getting into those positions which had kinda stopped happening for most part of last season.

Anyway, that was a good first half overall, most solid we've looked in ages.

I have to ask though, has Valencia really offered enough defensively out there to compensate for the fact that he's done pretty much nothing offensively? Would we really suffer on the defensive aspect with someone else playing instead of him out there?

United look very well organised tonight, this could quite well be one of those excellent 0-2 away wins against a tough side that crop up after a period of poor form.

Important for Moyes to qualify for the knockout round as soon as possible really.

Meanwhile in Manchester...City fans boo off their team at half-time.

We're ugly and boring to watch but I don't blame Moyes for trying to inject some defensive stability to the side.

So are most of yours. We didn't buy him for him to be "creative and expansive."
Ah you're posting shit because others are posting shit. Yeah, I'm sure that's the reason

Umm, if he's not playing as a defensive midfielder, he has to be able to do the non holding midfielder stuff well too. It's pretty basic stuff. If he's playing deep as a ball winner I'd agree with that chap's post. But he's not.

They are pretty good. It's the sort of game where a draw would be a good result. A win would be fantastic.. however it comes.

We've defended well and limited their chances. Not attacked a lot.. but after the goal, we were always going to sit back

Good performance this so far. Half the time Fellaini looks good, the other half absolute shite. He serves a purpose, but £27m? fecking hell. Cleverley lucky to get away with the penalty claim, but playing well nonetheless.

I'm not his biggest fan as many know but I accept he has his uses. Been a mixed bag so far, think he is far better as a presence without the ball than he is with it.
