Television Severance (Apple TV) | Spoiler anything that has not been aired, i.e trailer content, BTS stuff

Only watched this last December so haven't felt the wait as much, but January still seems like miles off.

Hadn't read anything about the production troubles previously, are hopes a little dented by it all?

I really hope they haven't fecked it, all signs suggest they have. First season was incredible.

please be good please be good please be good please be good

I watched three episodes of this and just didn’t get hooked.

People seem to rave about it though so I feel like I should try and go back to it.

Was looking for a new show to watch about 2 weeks ago and started this.

What a show. What a finale!

Didn’t realise when I started it that series 2 was so close! That’s a pure stroke of luck. I dunno how you people who watched it when it originally aired have dealt with that finale for the past couple of years

I dealt with it by not assuming there's going to be, or has to be, a second season. It was great on its own, and then if I get more I'll be happy.

I have so many theories. Like is it all just an elaborate experiment to see if the severance works for real life situations?

For instance, the mundane number stuff the team are doing. Is it actually nonsense just to test how well severance works for the likes of the lady who didn’t want to go through her childbirth?

Or is the MDR team carrying out some awful tasks through finding these numbers.

And will we ever even find out?

It’s such a great show.

Yeah, been an agonising wait. This show is one of the best to have released in the last few years. Really hope season two maintains the level

Finished Season 1 last night, so thankfully did not dip in here and see all the spoilers.

It's an interesting show. Really clever concept. It also has a really uncomfortable mix of styles that somehow manages to still work. Some actors are playing it straight, like Adam Scott and Britt Lower, who are both fantastic. Some are in a different show altogether, like Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, and John Turturro. Mark's sister plays it straight but her husbands is out of a cartoon.

The perks the workers get like erasers and Chinese finger traps, and a 5-minute dance party experience -- it's hard to see these as being part of the same universe we inhabit. Then it makes me start to think how much of this is "real" and how much of it is some kind of psych experiment, false memories, computer sim thing. I am hoping they are presenting these things to the audience as true, not that Mark wakes up and it was all a dream, or he's a brain in a jar in a museum, etc.

I like Ben Stiller, glad this is going so well for him.

Anyway, somehow it still works. Looking forward to Season 2.

Reviews seem positive for season 2 so far.

I re-watched season one over the last week in preparation and I think I can conclude that it's up there with 'perfect' seasons of tv. The whole flow of it, the acting, cinematography, the way everything unfolds building up to that amazing finale, it's incredible. Really hope after all this time they can do it justice with season two.

I watched it all again over the last week too and would agree - it's still brilliant. One problem I would have is with the innies arguably unrealistic lack of urgency when they are outside in the last episode, but other than that it's great. Looking forward to next week (right?)

Agree with that  I rewatched it last week and was laughing at Mark when he agreed to wait until the first reflection break to talk privately with his sister

I actually thought it made sense because innie Mark is such a polite person and didn’t actually know any of these people so he could hardly in his eyes just demand to stop everything.

I thought his muted reaction to Sobel being there was worse.
