Where have all these Ramos fans been all this time.
i guess most people never in a million years thought that there would be a chance of nicking the Madrid golden boy from them
Where have all these Ramos fans been all this time.
I thought that was Hummels...until our interest turned out to be non existent.
Where have all these Ramos fans been all this time. All I remember was people on here laughing at the Ramos & Pepe show in the big games over the last few years.
If there's anyone to laugh at over the last 2 years it's hummels.I thought that was Hummels...until our interest turned out to be non existent.

Ramos is not the only player than can improve our starting XI.
It is not pointless, financial information is available free on the net. It can be discussed like millions of other pointless discussions we have on this site, which also we have no control over.
I am not saying I know better than Woodward or VG, I am giving my opinion, like you or anyone else. The club also appointed Moyes, and then Woorward managed to feck up two transfer windows. Then we appointed VG and didn't come out looking like geniuses in another window. I am not being overly dramatic in my concern. Much bigger entities than Manchester United have fallen like a pack of cards before. Souness and the then Liverpool board laid the foundation for the current state of one of the most successful football clubs in England. Milan cannot finish higher than 7th and they were champions in 2010-11.
We have spent close to 235m pounds in two years and are still looking for 5-6 first team players. That to me suggests that may be the higher ups are a bit clueless without Fergie's control.
And please, do not assume that I am in any way suggesting that buying or not buying Ramos will bring us down. We have digressed far away from that now.
This is a discussion forum for a club in Manchester, which you and me sitting in India discuss on a daily basis. Let's not start talking about weird.
I'm on the fence about Van Gaal - though I very much supported his appointment back then - but I definitely don't want Ramos, at all. For me, it has nothing to do with the manager, most of the other linked targets (Schneiderlin, Otamendi) I'd be happy with.Seems to me that opinion on Ramos' thuggery directly reflect the faith whoever expresses those opinions has in the manager.
The Van Gaal out crew will look to find any reason to criticise potential targets and talk up players linked with other clubs. Which is what they'd been doing in all the various transfer forum threads.
Me, I'm on the fence. About Van Gaal and about Ramos. Both of them could work out great for us but I'm not yet fully convinced.

I understand mate. Your reasons stem out of personal dislike. I feel the same about terry. One can't put a proper pulse on the reason but it's there.
Ditto Suarez and Tevez but the reasons there are obvious
Silva and Terry at their best were better, but currently they are not. I would say that he is the best CB in the world together with Pique, Godin and possibly Boateng. From these, only Pique was clearly better last season (dismissing the first couple of months when Pique was genuinely awful).
If we didn't sign RVP, then City would have done it. Which would mean that they would have won 3 titles in a row, while our last title would have been in 2010-2011. So, Fergie was right to sign him.I've always been open on my opinions about signing players from other big clubs and certain types of players. I was dead against signing RVP under Fergie.

Ramos is very similar to Vidic in that he is a very pro-active player and gets involved in all the difficult situations during the game. He might not always make the right decisions but he tries to get his head to everything, get on the ball and loves to put a foot in. For a team like Madrid which pays barely any attention to the defensive side of the game, he is a vital component.
It is why I prefer him to a defender like Hummels who seems very passive in nature. Our defence needs someone who is quite gung-ho but has balls, a proper winner who can shake up the defence both in and out of possession.
In our side we have a lot of players who do not like to get involved when the situation gets tough and tend to take a back seat. Guys like Schneiderlin, Ramos.. quite the opposite.
Fellaini is probably one of the most pro-active players we have in our side, someone who loves to take it upon himself to make things happen/do the difficult things needed to win.. if we had more players like that all over the pitch and less of the lads who prefer to play it safe, we'd get back to where we need to be quicker.

Phil Jones must be the most pro-active player right? He just loves to rush towards someone and put his head between the opponent and the ball
Agreed. This is all going to end in Perez's tears of bitter Real resentment...
Agreed. Can't be a bad thing can it.This is all going to end in tears of bitter Real resentment...
I sort of agree. I agree with your first point about him being pro-active, which is great as Smalling has shown that he is a monster of a covering defender who reads the game well and physically is extremely hard to conquer. And yes, I'd also prefer a defender of his type to Hummels - Otamendi or even Godin.Ramos is very similar to Vidic in that he is a very pro-active player and gets involved in all the difficult situations during the game. Well that's just not true is it.For the people complaining about Ramos mentality, You must have short memories as we had a player playing for us who actually ended someone's career. If this place was around when we signed Keane I'd dread to think what it would of been like.

It will be different if he signs for us. He's the sort of player that your own fans love and opposition fans love to hate! Just like Keano, Cantona, Ronaldo, etc etcFor the people complaining about Ramos mentality, You must have short memories as we had a player playing for us who actually ended someone's career. That myth was busted long time ago.For the people complaining about Ramos mentality, You must have short memories as we had a player playing for us who actually ended someone's career. If this place was around when we signed Keane I'd dread to think what it would of been like.
Yep, another good oneGary Neville springs to mind.![]()
Ppl will be all out for you but will of course obviously ignore Keane's intention. He didn't end his career, but his intent was clearly to injure him / to "hit him f****** hard".For the people complaining about Ramos mentality, You must have short memories as we had a player playing for us who actually ended someone's career.
