If he wants out and we are clearly interested bidding for him then it looks like it may happen.

Can someone write in short what happened from 'Ramos wants to join United' reports.

On a serious note, his brother claims Ramos wants to move and doesn't want to stay anymore and this has been confirmed/published by multiple reliable news sources. And Man United made a formal second offer of 28m which is what Real apparently asked.

It's a big difference playing in La Liga for the best team to go to the EPL where all teams are capable of winning and will always put themselves about. I reckon he'd take a season at least to bed in.

That's a gamble with every signing. Surely you could have had this doubt with Sanchez Diego Costa etc. I think he has the intelligence to adapt quickly.

Does anyone else think that Ramos is being really clever with his whole "it's United or no one" thing? He knows that we're in for him and he could easily start a bidding war if he wanted to, but he knows that we'll probably offer him the best wages, so started a bidding war probably wouldn't get him a better deal elsewhere anyway. Yet by saying what he's allegedly said he has set himself up as a fan favourite before even setting foot in Manchester.
PSG would easily be capable of offering him the same amount if not bigger but it seems that it's a case strictly between Real and United. LVG called it a special relationship last season before going for Di Maria.

It's half of what real asked, buddy

Wov. That sounds...

Good. :)

We are pretty much the "X-Factor" and Real Madrid is the giant record label.

I can see us having a good relationship with them.

This is quite good isn't it?

We must be offering Ramos a holy fecktonne of money.

Hunter said that this bid is the only one we have made

Although the price may seem steep for a 29 year old defender, Ramos would bring the defensive experience and leadership we have lacked since Vidic left. How many players from our current squad can we say at the moment have experience of huge Champions' League nights, have been there and done it, winning medals and still have something to offer? Rooney? Carrick? We have a very inexperienced side currently and Ramos would be a massive addition and would certainly have a lot to offer to the squad. To add to this, think of what a positive impact it may have on our younger defenders in the form of Smalling and Jones - to have an experienced head to learn from in training, and besides them in big games.

Look at Terry at the moment. Not the most agile or young player any more but was arguably Chelsea's most important player last season. Ramos at 29 could still give us 4 or 5 years, and the experience, stability and guile he'd bring to this rebuilding process that we are currently undergoing would prove to be invaluable.

I wouldn't want Ramos tbh... I think there are better CB options available... But I do appreciate Woody sticking it to Real.

That metaphor...

Since LVG is in charge we've been in very good relationship with half of the clubs we've been doing business with. Both Ajax and PSV are just too nice... unlucky Liverpool wasn't cooperative when asked about Sterling. I think they might not like us at all.

Who, out of interest? Ramos is a proven world class centre-back and he wants to join Manchester United, not sure there's any better centre-back options available?

Great username by the way.

Yeah, didn't make it clear but was on referring to Hunter.

Hunter also saying that Rafa is the type of guy that wouldn't want anyone on their pre season tour, knowing that they're not fully committed.
He will have to do as he's told, I'd imagine will have next to no imput in the Ramos deal.

Brilliant on the ball, experienced, leader, winner, passionate, good defender. Can't really ask for much more, who else is there?

Can you add "huge aerial threat" to that list plx we dont want to give other people a bad opinion about Ramos.

Nope in the sky sports interview he specifically said that it was an offer which met their demands 28m/40m euro.

At least thats what i make out of it lol.
There's no way you heard that. Ramos will not be leaving for any less than £40m, never mind €40m.

To the tune of Copacabana.

His name was Ramos,
From that Sevilla,
Perez fecked around again,
And they are no longer friends.
And so Woodward,
Our Edward Wood-ward.
He shat in his hand bag,
And called Perez a fat slag,
And Old Trafford...
We fell in love.

People here saying that if we can get him for £28.6mill they'd snap Madrid's hand off but that if the bidding went to £35mill they'd say no. It's that kind of penny-pinching that got us into this predicament in the first place!

But on the other hand smaller teams don't park the bus in Spain as goal difference doesn't matter, they will attack you.
