I also like to read your dreams  I think that you will have to wait a year to get Bale, and with United financial power, eventually you will get our favorite players. Don´t you think that instead Ramos, United should be trying to buy Stones (I really can rate him but if Chelsea is interested...) to keep the best UK players ?

We've gone down the Stones route before with buying potential eg Jones and Smalling, would have preferred the experience of Ramos.

Feck Madrid and Ramos if he doesn't want to come . We should keep DDG and let him go for free next year, we would make the money Madrid would pay us for him by just staying in the CL, DDG is the type of player who can make the difference between winning and losing a game and finishing in the top 4. He's not sulking or or trying to force the move through (yet) so let's keep him for the year and make those cnuts wait.

It is ok if we don't get Ramos and de Gea stays.

I don't see it as Ramos using us to get a bigger contract, I see it as Real valuing Ramos higher than potentially having de Gea one season earlier. Works as long as Cost of Improved Ramos contract < Cost of de Gea signed earlier.

From Ramos perpective, it is about the relative value of Real's new contract versus playing in PL + contract from United. No one is using anyone, it is just economics mostly.

As for de Gea, yes we may lose him on a free next year potentially losing maybe £30million next year. But we have seen the impact that de Gea had for us last year, and how many points he saved for the team. Is that worth £30 million for one year in terms of the potential trophies, prize monies, new sponsorships etc? I don't think the sacrifice will be that great by keeping him.

Plus a year is a long time. De Gea might get a new girlfriend, we might win a lot and de Gea gets tempted to stay or maybe we offer a really great new contract too good to resist, etc.

It may make sense to keep him for another year.

Florentino Perez, Sergio Ramos, his brother and agent, René have signed the ‘Armistice of Guangzhou’. They’ve agreed to end hostilities and start fresh contract negotiations back in Madrid. René traveled to China to support his brother during this key moment when Sergio met up with Florentino for then first time since July 9. His intention to travel to Guangzhou was not to negotiate with the president but to seek to clarify Florentino’s position.

One of Sergio Ramos’ main complaints is the manner in which Florentino has been filtering details of the negotiation process to the media so as to taint Ramos and his family as money-grabbers. The defender is out of contact in 2017 (when the player will be 31 years old) and Madrid offered him a new deal with a 7 million euro net annual salary whilst Ramos requested 10. Both player and his agent feel that the economic aspect is not the crux of the negotiation. The player still maintains the idea of a move to United, but is pleased to see that Florentino has had a change of heart after the harsh criticism the club received for their handling of Iker Casillas’ departure from Madrid. Perez is anxious to avoid another negative episode and to this point has been willing to come to a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Ramos and his brother. The view is now ‘let’s forget about the past and sit down together’...

“Sergio Ramos will stay at Real Madrid. He is a great player and captain”, is what Rafa Benítez has repeated on countless occasions now in press conferences. Ramos has been a starter in all three pre-season games along with Bale, Cristiano, Marcelo and Keylor Navas. The player from Camas is also the defender who featured most last season: Ramos (3.545’), Varane (3.428’) y Pepe (3.184’). Benítez plans to look after him on and off the pitch as without doubt Ramos is his best ‘signing’.

Interesting in the middle of that article it's said he still prefers a move to United. Still a long way to go for this to be resolved either way

AS have reported just about everything during this. I wouldn't trust anything with the Spanish media about De Gea/ Ramos until the transfer window is shut.

If we don't get Ramos or Ronaldo or Bale and we sell them De Gea....ima b pissed.

It's just business. No point in taking it personally.

All the club needs to do is to reflect and apply.

Apply for me would mean to not bother that much for spanish/portuguese players any more and go for players from the northern parts of the european continent instead.

You are eternally weird, it's like you want us to struggle to get a perverse kick out of the reactions.
No, I am just delighted that everything has played out just like I predicted and preferred it would.

Has there ever been a post in which you have not been delighted?

If you're saying that you either want Ramos or nothing, because you feel that nobody else (realistically available) would be a big enough upgrade on what we already have, then I agree with you. We have enough squad players now and I'd rather hold out for genuine top players when they become available.

So you want us to have a poor central defense so you can be right on the internet, gotcha.
Correction. I believe we should either go for Ramos or not bother since there are very few other players who would add to our current options. For more in depth analysis you can read my recent contributions about it today. Go to my profile and find my posts of today. Go ahead, treat yourself, live a little.

I don't need to, if you think Ramos is the only CB that can improve us there's not much point.

Wow, you predicted two out of three possible outcomes? You're not a professor of football you're a fecking Nostradamus.

Rather agree with you. I mean the live a little portion, LOL.

Seriously, if if LVG doesn't think Otamendi is a big upgrade than what we have, no need to spend the cash. And while Ramos would've been a big upgrade, his saga was just as much about us getting as much as we can for DDG or even keeping him if Madrid wasn't going to give us any satisfaction (i.e. beside Ramos, there was Benz or Varane, or .....). Hummels said no and I'm not sure if there are any other options that would improve us drastically this season. Of course, if Valencia comes down in price for Otamendi, we might talk, but at this point I think LVG is more than comfortable with what he has defensively. Heck, his latest comments point toward getting more creativity on the other end than strengthening the defense.

We're not going to sell them DDG.... We're going to give him to them. For nothing. Zilch. Didley squat.

Fine give them DDG if he wants to go and let Ramos stay but MUFC better buy Otamendi or the like....our backline is very fragile.

A qualification to the C1 will give some money... that's important too. But yeah it hurts to be in a weaker position due to David refusing to sign a new contract...

New contract till 2020 reported. It's over officially once this is confirmed. 137 pages though. Good run. This year's Sneijder.

Pleased it's over and done with didn't want it dragging on till deadline day, disappointed that he was supposedly our only CB target though.

It's quite baffling how Real built such a strong squad since 2009, while ours, which was miles ahead at the time was allowed to decline.

Never wanted him. So this one ends well for me.
I don't think United really wanted him either. He was being used as a bargaining chip, knowing full well that Ramos didn't want to leave, and Real couldn't afford to sell.
The next bargaining chip will be Bale.

This brief fling was mutually beneficial if we keep DDG for one more season and who knows somehow manage to convince him to sign an extension. Its a long season.

 Madrid are still convinced they'll get De Gea soon despite their refusal to sell Ramos. Ed should tell them to piss off.
