Probably being too optamistic but a lot can change in a year. We could see another young keeper having the year of his life and Madrid suddenly fancy him instead.... We know how fickle they are. DDG could have a change in heart if we win something who knows....But we should never be in a position where we bend over for Madrid. If they want DDG then they need to put their money where their mouths are.

Sorry, whatever that concaf one was - gold cup? The one in which Chicharito also injured himself I think.

Gold cup is starting Tomorrow. Some qualifier or training I guess it would be. Coz navas is ruled out for the gold cup

This one looks dead in the water.
Cheers for feck all Ramos....Please come to us

A lot of people going with the theory that Ramos is using is for a new contract and he does not really want to come? Anyone of the mindset that it could be the other way round- i am not saying we don't want him but we got a sniff of his unhappiness and we are using that to stall on De Gea leaving? Using him as a pawn?

I think we're determined not to let DDG leave unless Ramos joins, I think we'll have one of them next season.

We're not letting DDG leave for £13million, not unless Ramos is definitely coming the other way.

I think its becoming increasingly obvious that we're willing to let him go for free next year if thats what it takes. I'm glad we're telling Madrid (and Dave) to do one until it mutually benefits us too.

If the Cassilas deal is true, I think we might see DDG submit a transfer request.

It seems Ramos side is quiet now as well.

Tables might turn on us.

Our only hope is for Ramos to insist on the transfer. Then at least we can cut our losses, save some face and call it a draw. Each one take one player.

If that is the case it'll be interesting to see if we'll still bring in a new GK and have DDG wait on the sidelines for a season. As cruel as it sounds, if his head isn't here, well then that scenario may benefit us more.

I think you forgot about Valdes? I cant see LVG getting a highly decorated keeper like Valdes and keep him on the bench throughout his 18 month contract with optional contract extension. That contract says it all because LVG got him because DDG was unsure about his future at United and LVG saw the opportunity to get a keeper like Valdes on a free transfer. So Valdes will be #1 goal keeper if DDG leaves.

Casillas leaving only strengthens our bargaining position. That leaves them with Navas who's injured right? If De Gea does submit a transfer request we stick to our guns, either Real pay what we value him at, allow us to negotiate for Ramos, or piss off and wait till next summer.

We definitely need to give Valdes a fair chance as number 1 if DDG leaves. It may be a risk but I would be willing to wait until January to resolve the keeper issue.

Clubs aren't going to sell their number 1 goalkeepers in January.

I would just let him leave when his contract runs out, its no biggy.

When you have the money we do, and the offer on the table is peanuts, we can afford to just say, feck it, he stays till his contact runs out.

I feel people are missing the point on this Ramos stuff. We might not actually want him for real, but what it has allowed us is to do is get tough on Madrid on De Gea. Woodward has pulled of a masterstroke in changing the narrative of the De Gea transfer. We are now in a position to tell Madrid 'Sell us your vice captain, who wants to leave or we wont bother talking to you about De Gea'.

We had nothing to bargain with before all this Ramos stuff.

Well, we had De Gea's contract. So not quite nothing. But I agree, Woodward looks to be playing this one very nicely.

And many on here were arguing a while back that we should sell DDG for 15-20 mill to keep in with Madrid.

Glad the club are looking at the bigger and more long term picture.

I still think we're just trying to get Madrid to pay a decent fee for Ddg and we'll end up signing Otamendi .

I sure wouldn't mind that outcome. Still, there's a part of me that wants us to get Ramos and then leave Madrid behind with their knickers on the floor more or less in the same way Juventus fecked us when we sold them Evra, but Vidal didn't come to us in return.

I'm pretty sure that didn't happen? I thought we dithered on price because of Vidal's injury? I don't ever recall Evra's deal being mentioned as part of us getting Vidal.

I'm more of a pessimist. DDG wants Cassilas gone. Perez, that sly old fox, wouldn't let Cassilas go and expose himself for no good reason. Now DDG has no reason to say no. lol... :(

It's just I don't see how De Gea handing in a transfer request pressures us all that much, I mean it's the worst kept secret that he wants to go to Madrid. So if Casillas leaves all Madrid have is an injured keeper heading into the new season, which makes our threat of keeping De Gea for the last year of his contract all the more potent. It forces Madrid to push the boat out to sign him or sign someone else, both of which benefit us one way or another.

Not if our first choice keeper is throwing a hissy fit while Ramos stops throwing a hissy fit. :(

Perez just doesn't look like someone you can make a fool out of so easily.

I know what you mean, I'm just .... pessimistic. I don't want to expect much from our transfer windows. That's all. Don't want to get my hopes up just to be crushed.... again...

Ramos would be great, especially when using United in Fifa 16 but I think we're all gonna be happy ending up with eiher Ramos or Otamendi .

If Casillas leaves it could be before the DDG is closer to completion than we think.

I trust Woody to get something out of this for us - either a decent fee or Ramos in return.

Otherwise, I fully expect him to tell Real to eff off and force DDG to stay for the year.

Casillas will leave and Madrid will pay the world record fee. Ramos will stay at Madrid after getting a shiny new contract.

If that ends with us getting 30mil or so for De Gea and signing Otamendi, I'm all for it.
