Sell Ronaldo, Sign Lennon

At some stage, he´ll leave. Same goes for Reyes, Fabregas, Pique, Rossi.

Yeah probably. Reyes doesn't seem to have settled, whereas even when Ronaldo looked like he had, loads of fans - mainly yours - seemed to think he'd want to get to Spain sooner rather than later....and he does

I can see Fabregas staying for ages as long as Arsenal are performing....don't know about your kids. They have to make it first

Well he had to put on a show for the cameras didnt he?

If you actually listen to what he said, he actually let slip that we are in fact the best club in the world. Pleasing to hear from a once great player.

Not as pleasing as the fact that you sold a world class striker for £11M

Weakens your squad considerably

That's true. Great fans often go around mercilessly killing other, innocent, fans, dont they?

Accidents happen

Doesn't change the fact that our fans are superb, as Alonso has pointed out

A once world class player. He's past it now. Too slow, too stale.

With the money we are sorting our midfield, which was a in dire situation. However despite it being so we still finished above you last season and are comfortably a better team.

Christ knows how far we'll finish ahead of you once we sort the midfield out.

 Yeh...

Many large groups of people often accidently charge groups of innocent people against delapidated walls, that consequently crush 39 of the said innocent people, many of which children, to death.

Many also accidently wish AIDs on their manager, and threaten the life of a player who wants away until he withdraws his transfer request.

Great fans.

I traded my personalised BMW for a Hyundai in order to save money on petrol and maintenance. Unlike the BMW, the Hyundai has never let me down but it has never given me the satisfaction and excitement the BMW gave me. It was a terrible mistake, so now that business has picked up I've tried to buy it back even offering the new owner more money than he payed for it, but even though he's unemployed and in dire straits, he told me he'd rather sell his house and rent out his wife. To make matters worse he lives in the same area as me so he enjoys driving by my house to rub it in my face. The way things are looking, Ron ain't going to be around for long so I guess quite a few peeps here will unfortunately have the chance to experience this sinking feeling.

Yes. Dirty foreigners. Unlike loyal English players like Rooney, Ashley Cole, Soul Campbell, Carrick, Beckham, Owen, Keegan, McManashit etc etc.

He was your best goalscorer...and is a better goalscorer than any player you currently have.

You've overspent on one midfielder so far....we've improved our squad throughout.

Christ knows how much more successful we'll be than you this year, now we haven't got first round qualifiers and World Club tournaments to worry about....

Well, cant really dislike him and call him a cnut for wanting a move to real madrid. It´s not like he wants such a move because he´s desperate for winning trophies, he grew up with real madrid as his favourite club and we all knew that at some stage, he´d want to go to spain.

Fans thinking he´d want to get to spain sooner rather than later, thats more about doom&gloom. "hey, we have a fantastic player at the moment, we need to find something negative about it..oh, i know, we´ll go on about how he´ll feck us off and go to spain". It´s not like they had any proper points to back it up with.

I can see Fabregas staying until Barcelona needs a new midfielder.

Correct. Like Pennant, Carrick and the rest. What's really amazing is that after a world cup that pointed out in BIG feckING LETTERS that English players were overhyped and overpriced they've actually gone up in price.

You're an average boring side with an average boring manager.

I dont think that has changed through the summer, with the signings of two strictly average players in Bellamy and Pennant, who also happen to be two prize cnuts.

One of which incidently has been to jail...the other just a few court hearings. Should fit in to the city well then.

Fabregas seems mature and level headed for his age...think this makes a difference

You are Ronaldo. The point of a car is to get you around and do more important things (the point of football is to win games) not be a flash prick.

He was one of the best goalscorers in the premership, to be a bit more precise.

Cant exactly say we have overspent on Carrick, he´s had a great season, proven in the premiership and english, £14mill+bonus isnt bad. ofcourse you have improved more areas, as you had a ton of areas to improve. We basicly just had two areas, midfielder and striker.

Ofcourse, i reckon we´ll do quite horrible with a much better midfield and no qualifiers or national team tournaments to worry about

Silly talk

We're more successful than you, both now and historically. Bellamy's a very good striker, Pennant's got a lot of potential.

We can look forward to further success under Rafa...

So who gives a feck about Liverpool

Yes he was

Anything over ~ £8m for Carrick is more than he's worth....this takes into account his performances last season. If it doesn't affect your budget for other players it's no huge deal for fans, still paid far too much mind

Tons of areas to improve? Hardly....strikers and a RM the only obvious positions. Our defence and midfield was superb last season

You sound a lot more confident than the mancs I know...

He was critical of Ferguson after getting battered by the English press, not to mention the fact that some classy england supporters decided to attack his house. Not exactly hard to understand that he wanted the club to speak up, when thats said, shouldnt have been critical of ferguson. Probably why he later said that he owed Ferguson for helping him so much.

Yes, very mature...Especially when he threw food at Fergie

Our main point of attack is the best player in the Premiership, Wayne Rooney. Genius. We were a much better team without a faded and stale Ruud last season, I expect that to continue, but with a far better centre midfield, and hopefully another striker on top.

Heysel is very relevant when discussing how great your fans are. You should know your own blood thirsty history before making statements about how wonderful you are. If I dont know much about it, then you are obviously completely oblivious.

No reason for your club to defend him, he was in the wrong. Turning that into an attack on his manager who has supported him during difficult times in the last year or so was always going to lead to dislike from fans...

Rooney's a great player...no Henry, but a great player all the same. That's no reason to sell another great player mind.....and you'll miss RVN, as you'll see

Heysel was a long time ago, in an era you don't understand. Condemning all Reds because of it is daft....particularly given the great support we show our club, and how highly rated we are as fans because of this

Why would that be more than he´s worth ? He´s been very good in the premiership, made the national team, reaching his prime age. While i wouldnt mind paying less, cant say that the transfer fee annoys me.

Two strikers
Winger
Defender
Goalkeeper

Your defence isnt that superb, your statistics are good due to the defensive style of your play.

Im not saying we´re going to win anything , no one besides chelsea supporters can be sure of that. Though there´s no reason to think that we´ll have a horrible season. We have fixed the main thing that needed fixing.
We played the best attacking football in the league with a midfield that wouldnt have made the first team at Wigan, dont see why we shouldnt get even better now that we have a much better midfield

I suppose stoning the ambulance that took Smith to the hospital was also in another era? Once a criminal always a criminal.

Ofcourse there were a reason for defending him. The English press had made him the main culprit for why England didnt win the world cup. Nor was it an attack, simply said that he was dissapointed, later on he said that he was very greatfull for how the club and ferguson had stood by him.

Rooney is the best player in the Premiership, Henry probably just behind. Funny that whilst he played for us Van Nistelrooy was just a tap in merchant to yourself, hm?

He was a tremendous player, the best striker ive seen play in the flesh. But his time came to an end. At 30 years old he has lost the drive, commitment, and the pace over 5 yards. It's a physical decline as much as it is mental. You saw it for United in the last 8 months, you saw it with Holland in the World Cup. Personally im glad we have a manager who has the balls to make these big decisions, as he did with Beckham, Stam and Keane before him.

Heysel was only a little longer than the last time you won a league title. Which other fan base has a record as stained with blood as yours? Why are you happy for your fans reputation as a collective to take credit for a relatively small number making noise in a CL semi final and final (wow) but not happy for them to take the wrap for the relatively small number of fans charging and killing innocent Italians? (or wishing AIDs on their manager, death threats to their captain, stoning ambulances etc. etc.). It's as wrong to call Liverpool fans great as it is to call them murderers.

Which is why id suggest you consider Heysel and many other incidents which have shamed your fans before you make outlandish statements like you continue to do. You make yourself look ignorant and naive.

I'm not saying the fee annoys you, just that it's far too much for a player of Carrick's ability. Before he was first linked with you, how much would you have valued him at? No where near what he's gone for...

Our defence is immense. Both as individuals, and more importantly as a unit. I don't know what that list of positions is about, surely not who you think we needed to bring in??

I don't think you'll have a horrible season...although I'm not sure how you're defining "horrible"? You just sounded more confident than some of your fellow ilk that I know....

I don't think you've fixed your midfield...

Davo said:

Carrick was overpriced, as are all hyped English players. But he is a class player where as Pennant is nothing special. Yet Liverpool management felt 6m was a good fee for Pennant. 14m for class vs 6m for shit. Which would you rather invest?

The FA cup is suddenly very meaningful?

To put things in prespective. Pennant is a washed up jail bird who couldn't make it at Birmingham. Garcia and Riise are better than him, not to mention Gerrard. Where as Carrick is a proven quality Prem player and a big improvement on O'Shea.

I could understand you bragging about your superior buys in the transfer market if Rafa had signed Duff for 5 million, but after paying 7 for Pennant you'd do well to shut the feck up.

couldnt be bothered to read it all, so as for the original post......now lennon is no longer an unkown quantity, teams will just double up on his side of the feild and nulify his pace his main assest. the same is done to ronaldo week in week and this is why he needs to play as a wing forward in a 433, in which it is more difficult to double up giving ronnie freedom to run at centre backs aswell as fullbacks.
