Seinfeld... I still don't get it

Okay, I watched it sporadically when it first aired, and thought it was shit, and I just watched most of the first 3 series, in an attempt to get why it's apparently not shit.

It's still shit.

A lot of the time a character comes in, say George, and histrionically tells everyone something that's happened to him (which we've often just seen happening to him anyway). Like, say, some woman's stolen his clothes. Then Jerry goes, "Who steals a guy's clothes?", the audience laughs and that's the end of the scene. I don't get it.

And I love Curb... or at least, the first three seasons. Someone explain to me what I'm missing.

I want to also hold my hand up and admit that I just don't get Seinfeld. I was thinking about this on the bus to work. I've watched it a few times and the only episode that I enjoyed was the soup dragon one

I've started to watch it from reading this thread and I really like it. I love how well it flows

Same...has been my dad's favourite show for years, and he is always watching re-runs. I couldn't stand the show as I found every character annoying. I've been watching it more and more and I have warmed to it.

I probably watch a couple of episodes a week. :nervous:
