We see it for Scotland though..
Had a quick look at the West Ham forum and they don't seem to be against this.

Rice has been in a system that plays to his strengths, anyone can look brilliant in that setup and you’ll see it this season when he struggles to replicate any kind of form for Arsenal, then we’ll discuss who doesn’t know football.
Rice is an excellent defensive midfielder irrespective of what system he plays in. McTominay is not.
Who is going to buy Mctominay for 40-45m though?
West Ham have a Declan Rice shaped hole in their midfield and more than £100 million burning a hole in their pocket. If they want him, they can afford to pay up.
If we’re holding out for that then I’m afraid he’ll be here till the end of his contractWho is going to buy Mctominay for 40-45m though?
Similar to Grealish sale, you can use that money to improve your squad in general.
Villa are arguably better now without Grealish, Liverpool were without Coutinho and West Ham can be without Rice too.
What? When was he fast? He’s decent in terms of top speed but slow in terms of acceleration. No more than average at best. Not great in the air. Not great at outmuscling opponents and certainly not great stamina. He’s literally all those things.

No idea at this stage. I just don’t find him particularly athletic. Either that or he does one helluva job of not showcasing it.
This is a good post. We are saying opposite things, right?
Thanks for the green smiley. Always a proof of great arguments. But he’s not a standout at any of these. Do you seriously think he’s fast? You’re taking the piss right? You’re literally listing all the things that have made him an international footballer and Manchester United player.

He’s big, but he’s not great in battling opponents. Casemiro is much stronger in a tackle. Fellaini was great at it, and I wouldn’t argue any of them are particularly athletic, although Casemiro also looks the part.
His engine isn’t anything to write home about. Fred is the quicker of the two and the one who runs around more. Fellaini actually also had a better engine come to think of it - slower though
.
Why would they be? He's a top 6 team player and until recently we were a top 4-6 team since standards slipped.
We are wanting to be title challengers again so a team like Newcastle or West Ham would suite him
If it's true that Galatasaray is in for Fred then no way are we getting 20, I'm pretty sure that would be a record signing and we are not getting that for a 30 year old midfielder with a year left.McT for 30 and Fred for 20 would be excellent. McT is pure profit and he isn’t getting any better as a footballer. Talk of 40+ million with one club interested is nonsense and just the club trying to bring up the fee.
If we can then get Maguire out for 30 million, that would complete an unbelievable summer for the club in terms of turnover and give me massive believe about where Ten Hag is taking us.
He wants quality and is demanding it now, and I really like that.

Exactly. I don't know how people can watch McT and say he isn't athletic enough. He is strong, aggressive, quite decent in air and has decent pace required for a midfielder. You’re taking the piss right? He’s not technically great, but he’s fast, strong and has great stamina.
fecking “slow”
Forgot about Fulham, they'd pay higher than Gala for sure.It was the quoted price when Fulham were interested, who now have Mitrovic money and an injured Palhinha. So there is every chance we could get that for a player of his quality.
Just saying they don’t have 100m burning a hole like everyone seems to thinkNot our problem. They made Arse pay over the odds for Rice, so if they want our player we should do the same to them - either £40m or no sale.

Yeah think that's the best we can hope to receive for those three players, mind you Galatasaray are proper lowballing us for Fred
Have to hope Fulham come back in with a real offer now they have a bit of cash to spend.
Yeh but if they are going to spend 45m on Mctominay, why don’t they try to spend 50m on Lavia instead, or someone similar? With that amount of money they should be able to buy some younger and better.West Ham have a Declan Rice shaped hole in their midfield and more than £100 million burning a hole in their pocket. they have to purchase the entire McFred I think. Proper strengthening it will beThink Fulham want Fred as well.
I believe that Southampton have only this week rejected a £40 million bid from Liverpool for Lavia. The point is that good players don't come cheap, and McTominay is a good player. He's still young enough at 26 and has bags of Premier League experience behind him. £40 million is actually a fair price in today's market.Yeh but if they are going to spend 45m on Mctominay, why don’t they try to spend 50m on Lavia instead, or someone similar? I get what you mean, but isn’t that we trying to buy Amrabat for 20m to replace Mctominay something? Or all our fans wants Lavia for under 50m to replace Mctominay? For that price I am sure there are plenty of better options around.I believe that Southampton have only this week rejected a £40 million bid from Liverpool for Lavia.
