He made 3 passes in 35 minutes. THREE.

I'm not having that. Can't be right.

He was fine and that bit of skill followed by the big crossfield pass before his header was superb.

The header he should have scored obviously. Had he done so we'd all be praising his performance.

I thought he made more then that tbh. Hit a lovely crossfield ball from his own half that eventually resulted in him heading over from six yard box.

None of your midfield could really pass it at all in the second bar Eriksen showing some nice touches and eventually providing assist for the winner. Fulham were comfortably in control there.

Think it was like 15 mins before he came close to the ball after coming on, played almost as a 2nd striker. Eriksen only completed 20 passes today and Cas 30, so not a great day for the midfield.

That doesn't sound right.

10 touches, 3/3 passes. Argue with the stats all you like

He's obviously being phased out as a starter now and will probably be playing for an Everton/Fulham in 18 months but at times he can help the tempo. ETH had obviously decided early on in the second half he would try to close out another 1-0 as you did v West Ham.

I don't think he was that bad compared to what was around him. Casemiro was just lumping up hopeful long balls for Rashford to chase and Fernandes played that second half drunk with some of his decision making which you sometimes get from him.

Also was on a good break when Paliniha slid in and handballed so he was making an impact offensively.

Even if it was 3 passes I don't think today it was a case of him hiding or anything.

When he got the ball I thought he did well.

Had a chance to finish Fulham off after quite a solid cross.

Sometimes when he ventures in oppo's box, he can pose a threat.

When he makes those quick and decisive thrusts with the ball, then quickly moves it he looks a quality player. Too often can get indecisive or take too long to get the ball corralled. Also lacks spatial awareness of where to be at times.

wow, absolutely criminal, as much as Elanga is poor and needing bringing off there isnt any reason to bring him on

its shown everytime he comes on we look worse when it comes to controlling games. i really dont understand what the coaching team are sat there thinking.. genuinely the only thing i can come up with is that Fulham were having set piece after set piece and we needed a bit of extra height? Other than that there isnt anything he can bring to the team in terms of quality.

3 passes in 40 minutes though, thats even shocked me and i know how shite he is!

He missed the easiest chance of the game. 3 passes in the 35/40 minutes he spent on the pitch is typical him, really. He had a couple good ball carries today. It's the main thing he's good at.

a couple of good ball carries
a good cross field pass
that's it

- missed a sitter
- 3 passes in 38 minutes
- 0 tackles, 0 interceptions, 0 blocks, 0 duels won
- in one corner he just stood like a statute watching fulham player head the ball without pressure

I hate to see fans labelling him as "hard working" "with passion" "knows United" because he is from man utd academy and throws in nasty tackles here and there. He is definitely not a "hard working" "passionate" player. He never chases the ball like a mad dog or even breaks a full speed sprint.

I don't watch Hannibal but his energy seems like it could fit the Fred role, and if that's the case that's half of McTominay's job here really, with the other being Casemiro's backup, and we can surely sell McTominay to another prem team for 15M and buy a pretty good specialist younger DM for that amount to learn from Casemiro and hopefully challenge and take over for him in time.

I hope we dont use him as a sub striker once Ronaldo goes as I can see us 'making do' until the Summer.
He had some good games when Casemiro was initially bought which helped Casemiro take his time to settle in. But yep, defo replaced with a better player now.

Just ticked off one selection on my bet with his customary booking against Turkey.

Man Utd 2:0 Burnley
That was, in terms of quality on the ball, one of his very worst games for Utd, looked painfully limited.

Just really poor on the ball.

I don't know how much more he can keep getting starts as a midfielder for Manchester United because it's starting to become a farce.

To be fair, him taking the ball off that Burnley mug started off Rashford's goal. Could even be considered an assist, though that'd be stretching it.

Looked like he'd be more at home in a burnley side. No lack of effort but he's just not good enough. No shame, as we're talking about the top 0.000001% of footballers or whatever but the club needs to recognize his limitations, and soon.

His passing was woeful at times. The one in the second half, not long after his poor shot. He jogged with the ball into space, had a calm look up and then played the ball straight to a Burnley player .

He... Tries I guess

Surprised he played cm and casemiro was CB. Guess casemiros passing was better needed at CB. Maybe

He doesn’t do enough with it without the ball, simply just isn’t good enough and never will be. Can excuse his lack of ability with the ball as he just doesn’t have it but how he is still so poor and slack off it is inexcusable.

Can no longer be called a youngster with time to improve, the main thing he has going in his favour is Fred and DVB probably don’t have long left so he’ll most likely have another couple of seasons before he is moved on.

If I speak, they will say I am picking on Scott McTominay. Or I ‘hate’ him.

Nothing really left to say after that that hasn’t been said a hundred times already, so I’ll just leave it there.

I still have no idea how he's made it through the academy to the first team as long he has.

A painfully limited footballer.

Some good things, some really poor things.

A definite mixed bag, but then the same could be said of many of the players tonight.

Rustiness prevailed for many tonight,

What were they?
Great ball for Rashford down the line (Rashford offside however)
Got into dangerous positions in the box on several occasions,
Broke play up quite often,
Cleared the ball on several occasions.

You don't have to actually look hard for the good things,
I know McT is hated on here but surely people can still actually watch the game without prejudice against one of their own teams players?

Read what you've just posted. Clearing the ball on 'several occasions' and breaking up play 'quite often' should not be seen as praiseworthy in the position he played in this team. And the other two points (playing a pass to someone that was offside and loitering in undefined 'dangerous positions') are not worthy of praise either. I'm not prejudiced against him...you just like him and I just think he's bang average.

And yet some poster on here had the cheek to claim that McT would be the Stevie G of the Championship if he played there.

Are they not good things then?

Bit miffed as Casemiro is being praised for winning alot of headers, yet McT isn't being praised for clearing the ball on several occasions.

It's clear that McT has his limitations, that's evident, but he certainly has his uses, and whilst not great tonight he wasn't terrible.

Every player was rusty tonight, Casemiro gave the ball away in an even worse position than McT did tonight yet not a word from anyone, the reason for that is Casemiro is a better player, but the double standards is funny to witness at times.

In fairness, Casemiro was playing as a makeshift cb. Playing where he was McT has to be keeping the ball better and using it more adventurously (or even just better) than he did. He wasn't even a particularly effective midfield shield. He's a passable squaddie at best, for a top six team.

Come on. He was shite. It’s a pity because he had a terrific run of performances earlier in the season. Seemed to be reborn under ETH. Rustiness isn’t an excuse either. As he played in both friendlies. In which he was also shite.
