What's revealing is the number of posters who bring up his size. The kid might well be tall, but he's a streak of piss right now. He has relatively little upper body strength and gets targetted for roughing up quite a bit. The reason he's in the side is not to do with how big he is. It's because of his technique and passing.

Yes. That's why we have Mata, Sanchez, Lingard, and to certain extent Matic. We should have enough creativity there. You shouldn't need your DM to be creative player against fecking Huddersfield. At home.

What has he done that's so "bad"? He's connecting his passes, making himself available, pressing correctly. He's no flair player but what makes him so bad? He's not a superstar? Doesn't cost 90M? Doesn't act cool on Instagram?

I would normally just refrain from answering constructive posts like this but it's getting tiring... He's young playing his 2nd start in the PL. Considering that I think he's had a solid game so far, so please tell me what makes him so laughably bad.

I mean, it was a reasonable performance irrespective. He's not good enough to be starting for us, I doubt he ever will be and he shouldn't have been playing ahead of Pogba. But other than that (sorry), he has some good qualities that will serve him well going forward.

Probably not but a decent enough performance against a potential banana skin. I've been critical in the past but this performance was adequate and I have no complaints.

Indeed. A dynamic that happens a lot on here. I wasn't too impressed with him today. That said, I used to feel the similar about Darren Fletcher.

Agreed, but he's shown he can be a squad player. I was quite pleased with him. Looks better than Cleverley for me.

This. Why can't we enjoy our own kid just starting out at the top level? He is not world class, but he is good, and maybe he will improve. Have some patience.
