Quite possibly one of the worst posts I've ever seen on here, and that's really saying something.
Forums like these are made for debate, and obviously people will have differences of opinions, but to be so totally and catastrophically wrong is genuinely surprising.
You don't come through the ranks of Manchester United, get selected for the first team consistently and in big games by being a League One level player.
Saying he can't pass is insane, he generally keeps it simple (as he's instructed to do in order to help with the transition between our defense and more creative midfielders) but there have been plenty of instances of him threading forward passes into good areas.
In the last 12 months he's impressed his club manager, his international manager (as well as Gareth Southgate) and Sir Alex Ferguson, but it's great to know that you know more and can so confidentially state that he's nowhere near good enough.
Well we will see how much he plays when we buy a midfielder or two in the summer. No problem with the praise, young players will always get praise for simple things. He was simply at the right place at the right time to get his chance. He was consistently selected mainly because of lack of options in midfield, that is quite simple.
And there is nothing wrong about my post, people who watched academy for years would mostly agree, and that is still my opinion. It is of course easier to go with the flow and praise player for simple things. Cleverley was a better passer than him, and got insane amount of praise, because people just get excited about young kid in the first team easily, should we get him back? Those players play bottom of the table or as squadies in the midtable at best. We are Manchester United and should look and develop the best talents in the world and match the likes of Barcelona, Real or Bayern, not just trying to be too nice and develop every kid who's got a good attitude to prove some point.
He may stay around the first team in the next season, but with more talented players around he won't play as much and eventually leave, no chance that a premier league club would take him and give him regular gametime, he might get a job in championship because his profile will be too high for the teams not to try him out, it is up to the kid how he establishes himself but I highly doubt he will have a longterm future with us. That is my prediction. It would be easy to join the bandwagon and trying to find praise for him but I don't see nothing in his game with my own eyes not to back my opinion.
And that he impressed Mourinho, SAF etc? Simple he's Mourinho's project, again he was at the right place at the right time, kid did okay, so he kept him around. SAF will naturally back him up, as he likes his young Scottish/English players and kids with attitude form the academy, he will back Mourinho, of course he will get into the spotlight of media and talks, who will ask questions and managers and noone will say a bad thing about him.. nobody knew about this kid before and by chance he got to play few games and people are curious and won't be negative about him. Is he the next hope for the country? Mourinho can't be wrong, can't he? But maybe people start to realize that he might not be the best talent, Gaz mentioned just last game, he's not technically sound for a Manchester United midfielder, well that's quite some statement against the positive media flow form a renowned pundit.
People can see his deficiencies but are afraid to say anything because of authorities and there are people like you who might not see anything but will be satisfied and convinced just by the fact that there are other people who know but in fact he's well rated maybe by Mourinho and other people seemed to join the bandwagoon.. There is even nothing to justify his regular spot in a poor Scottish international team let alone being selected for a team to be the best in the world. The immense reputation he got out of nowhere because Mourinho selected him gets him some good chances against the odds though.
Let's revisit this in few years how wrong you or I was but don't call my post the worst ever, that's a massive overreaction, especially when there is at least the same chance that you are as wrong.
