Schürrle on his way to Chelsea?

Assuming Chelsea and City get the right managers (I believe the Fa Cup, if City win it won't be good enough for Mancini to stay) then you will definitely need to improve your CM. I can't see a title being won as easy as this in a long time.

To be fair I was taking the piss. YouTube wonder kids don't really worry me and niether do Chelsea in the slightest. I'm quite happy with our team at the minute, assuming the wingers play better next season and let's face it, they can't be any worse.

Kagawa does what he does. It's more a question of fitting him in, imo.

I doubt Hernandez will get much better. But that's just a personal opinion.

Kagawa will be better physically in terms of both strength and Stamina next season.

Hernandez will come into his peak in a couple of years too, though yeah won't probably be a massive improvement. But still he is going upwards rather than downwards.

Papers again saying a deal might be close. Would be another very good signing for them. They are buying young players and are definitely building for the future. Finally Roman has come to his senses. Now all they need is a good manager to compete for the league.

You don't say!

They'll find one and Roman will sack him within 6 months of hiring him

Yeah, but shame about the double youth cup winners in the academy setup though that aren't getting a look in. 23 players out on loan and they are still buying more. Why you would go into their academy I don't know...

They simply offer the best wages #moneytalks

De Bruyne has outshone Schürrle this season; IMO.

If the deal goes through, I reckon Hazard will be moved more centrally.

Mata on the right, Schürrle left, Hazard middle.

Oscar can compete with Schürrle and play in all three positions.

Mata has mostly played on the right this season too. He drifts in.

Dropping Oscar for Schurrle would be harsh though.

Won't happen. Schürrle is nowhere near the level of Reus, Götze, Müller. He benefits from the hype of young german players. I don't get why Chelsea want him so badly with de Bruyne coming back and no manager appointed yet.

Looks like De Bruyne will be loaned out again, then - or even sold, which would be ridiculous given that he was bought in the summer and has had a good season.

De Bruyne is good and maybe he could be used as a Lampard. As for Oscar he's barely been first choice this season. He's done some brilliant things in the champions league for them and for Brazil but in the premier league he hasnt really performed yet

My Chelsea friend (Yes I do have the obligitary one) hasn't ever heard of Marko Marin and is a season ticket holder....

I am hoping he is the exception, not the rule, as, if they are that ill-informed; its worrying.

I sit next to a United 'fan', who has United mugs and calendars all over his desk, and a United desktop wallpaper, and he doesn't know who Nick Powell is. Then again, he also thinks Carrick is "useless" because he doesn't "do tricks", "take players on" or "score good goals".

Arse.

Marin played 15 games for Chelsea in all 4 competitions. He's been invisible for the most part of those games by what I read, but he really should know him as a season ticket holder. That's embarrasing. He even scored a goal very late in a league game .

Hes good and Chelsea have played against him and gone in for him multiple times. If they sign him they know what they're getting and hes miles better than Marin

Oscar can compete with Schürrle and play in all three positions.

Out of the two there is no way Chelsea should play Mata on the wing over Hazard, the latter suits the role far more and can genuinely provide some width, Mata just wants to come inside.

I reckon de Bruyne will end up at Dortmund. Just a feeling.

Would be great but I don't think it will happen since they already got a lot of players in central midfield.

The only situation where I could see this happening is if Kehl leaves and Leitner goes out on loan but I still feel that would leave Dortmund with three offensive thinking central midfielders Gündogan, Sahin and De Bruyne just looks a bit like overkill to me.

Most likely he will end up at Leverkusen as part of the trade.

Rolfes, L. Bender and him could form a really great three man midfield I think.

Another option I think that could also be possible is that Bayern would become interested, the way it's setup at the moment they can barely ever rest Schweinsteiger unless Kroos plays that role and than they are missing a really good AMC, I feel they could do with another creative central mid the only question is if De Bruyne would be satisfied with a backup role.

Here's a crazy thought, but should Chelsea wait until they have appointed a new manager before spending millions on a player that the new manager may not want?

Buying players that fit into the managers philosophy, are you nuts?

That's not how it works at Chelsea.

Roman looks up the 10 best young players on FM and than goes shopping, after that he goes to his manager and tells him to play successful and beautiful football and if he fails to do one of those demands, well we all know what happens then.

Don't they have a director or something of a sort that takes care of transfers? It's how it's done at Barcelona, manager can only suggest a player but director signs them.

It's the same way in almost every Bundesliga club, I still find the English model where the manager is responsible for buying players as well as managing them and tactics.

Agent says Bayer Leverkusen winger Schurrle could be Chelsea player by weekend

Bayer Leverkusen winger Andre Schurrle could be a Chelsea player by the weekend.

Further talks have taken place between the Premier League club and Bayer Leverkusen over the versatile Germany forward, and a £20million player-exchange deal involving Kevin De Bruyne seems close to being rubber stamped.

"I am waiting for information from either Leverkusen or Chelsea, but there could be some positive news by the end of this weekend," said Schurrle's representative Ingo Haspel.

"It is an indication of how much Chelsea want the player that they are continuing to negotiate."

De Bruyne just tweeted:
''24 hours to go. You never know what can happen.''
He is also not in Werder's squad this weekend.

I reckon it's either a swap deal involving Leverkusen and Chelsea for André Schürrle OR Chelsea are negotiating with Leverkusen for Schürrle only and de Bruyne is off somewhere else - Borussia Dortmund rumoured (who else?).

EDIT: Looks as though now he is in Bremen's squad for tomorrow's game.

Bizarre if Chelsea get rid of De Bruyne. Really like him.

They keep signing plethora of young players. Loaning them out, then selling them or exchanging them with other not so good players.

IMO:
1. He seems as talented as a Victor Moses.
2. He has the potential to become a top player
3. He is young, reliable and hard working
4. He has a decent eye for goal.
5. Can operate in a number of positions.

I believe he'd make their overall squad that much stronger and able to cope better without 'the 3 amigo's'. Even though his price I agree is a bit steep.
