This is her private time, whether on camera or not (also, everything is filmed these days, when can you be sure not to be on anyone's camera?), and I couldn't give the slightest of fecks about what she does (again, provided it's not illegal etc.). And I do think it's pathetic to care. Politicians should be judged by their actions as politicians, and what they're up to in their private time is completely irrelevant (again, provided it's not etc.) and shouldn't be subject to some narrow, conservative societal norm of what's 'respectable behaviour'.

Why is having a good time not dignified? Obviously if she were doing cocaine (which she wasn't) that's a different story, but who gives a feck what else she does in her own time. Are politicians only allowed to play golf, smoke cigars and do other old men things?

As far as the video being private, well, it's not private as we've seen. As a PM of a country you'd do well to not record yourself in these situations, regardless if its meant to be "private" or not. People have sex in private, that doesn't mean you want a sex tape being leaked of your country's PM, do you?

I didn't say 'in private', I said 'in her private time'. I couldn't care less what she does and who sees it when she's not at work, and I think it's ridiculous that anyone would care - especially since the standard used is obviously that of old white dudes. I don't know who 'you guys' refers to, but same with Johnson, I don't care about his private life. It's his political work I take issue with. Same also with Trump for that matter, and I think I've posted more than once that it irritates me that so much of the criticism during his presidency was about his behaviour - while the actually important and truly toxic stuff were his political decisons.

I don't know if it is specifically you, but people lost their shit when Trump had McDonalds and an ice cream at a dinner party a few years ago. A large majority of these same people i'm seeing are now defending this behavior. That's just my observation.

It certainly wasn't me. I don't care, and more generally anyway care very little about decorum and traditions. (I hate dress codes, as a random example.)

And I think society shouldn't care and I hope this sort of video helps get us all away from such old-fashioned notions of what is and isn't respectable behaviour. This is her private life (I can call it 'personal life' if the word 'private' trips you up), and she can do whatever she wants regardless of who sees it. So yes, I know damn well that you think it makes a difference, but if you read my post properly, you would have noticed that I don't think it's important and think that no-one should think it's important.
Actually, if you want to talk about hypocrisy: another thing that bothers me is that she can apparently do these things as long as it's not public knowledge, or publicly viewable (as you're saying yourself here), but it's an issue when it's not 'in secret' (so to speak). What the hell kind of difference does that make? The behaviour is exactly the same! It's not like she's having sex in public. She's just clubbing!

The point is not what she does as a private citizen in her off-duty time, but how it is used as a distraction or to belittle her public standing as the leader of a government at a very challenging time. And yes, well knowing that, she should act way smarter with her time imho.
I don’t see any problem with her enjoying a night out, after all the Dail has a bar here in Ireland and when the toilets were checked a few years back all of them had traces of cocaine.
IMO, there is no such thing as a private life when you're a public figure. You need to be careful with what you're doing at all times because all eyes are on you. You would agree that her being the PM of a country kinda puts her in a different position than other middle aged women, would you? Sure, let's pretend she can do "whatever she wants" but at the same time she should be ready to face the consequences of such behavior.
The difference in being on camera and being not is again - appearance. Keeping appearance has been at the forefront of human civilization since the dawn of time and when it comes to political positions, even more so. You might not see anything wrong with what she's doing, but plenty of people do and that's what I'm trying to say. To say that everything is "fine and dandy" and "there's nothing to see here" is just ridiculous.
