Sanna Marin

She should he sacked. How dare she have fun. This is why we need old fat white men to dominate politics. They may start wars, feck over the working man and outlaw abortion, but at least they don't party. What would Jesus think?!

Sure, what you do on your own time, but you would agree that being on camera isn't on your "own time". You're being put out for the world to see. And she as a representative of a country should know better. I don't know if she did anything illegal. Is coke legal in Finland because that's what is suggested in the video? Whether she did coke or not, or her friends did or not, it doesn't really matter. The video is not how a public figure should act on camera, we can at least agree to that? On camera. Let's just remove the private thing out of the way because... well, it isn't exactly private if we two, and the rest of the world, knows about it, is it?
Nope, we won't agree in the slightest. This is her private time, whether on camera or not (also, everything is filmed these days, when can you be sure not to be on anyone's camera?), and I couldn't give the slightest of fecks about what she does (again, provided it's not illegal etc.). And I do think it's pathetic to care. Politicians should be judged by their actions as politicians, and what they're up to in their private time is completely irrelevant (again, provided it's not etc.) and shouldn't be subject to some narrow, conservative societal norm of what's 'respectable behaviour'.

Basically what @NotThatSoph said but sounding a bit more annoyed. :wenger:

Why is having a good time not dignified? Obviously if she were doing cocaine (which she wasn't) that's a different story, but who gives a feck what else she does in her own time. Are politicians only allowed to play golf, smoke cigars and do other old men things?

Such a non story this.
I wouldn't care less if our PM was partying with her friends in her own time.

Sanna Marin: Finnish PM reveals she has taken drug test

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-62608831

Finland's prime minister has said she has taken a drug test, after new footage emerged showing the leader dancing with a Finnish popstar.

Sanna Marin, 36, came under fire this week after a leaked video showed her partying, with some politicians saying she should be tested for narcotics.

At a news conference on Friday, Ms Marin said she had taken the test and expects the results next week.

The prime minister repeated her denials that she has ever taken drugs.

"I did nothing illegal," she told reporters in Helsinki.

"Even in my teenage years I have not used any kind of drugs," Ms Marin said, adding that she took the drug test as an added measure to allay any concerns.

The prime minister also insisted that she is entitled to the presumption of innocence.

Seriously, Finland?

Hot for Sanna, she is absolute beast and all the angry Karens are angy.

Is it "powder gang", jauhojengi, or is it jallujengi? Because both have been suggested, and none of us speak Finnish.

Your point about privacy is pretty weird. It was a private video from a private party. By your logic a PM can't party at all, because it can potentially be leaked and then they're partying in public. Which should also be fine, of course, but that's another matter. Unless you think her behaviour is completely fine both in private and in public as long as it's not on video. Very socially conservative in any case.
I don't know. Finns say it means "powder gang" and one of the guys apparently says "this shit is good" or something of that vein. It doesn't matter if it's drug related or not, that's not the problem.

As far as the video being private, well, it's not private as we've seen. As a PM of a country you'd do well to not record yourself in these situations, regardless if its meant to be "private" or not. People have sex in private, that doesn't mean you want a sex tape being leaked of your country's PM, do you?

Again. Is it really private if we all know about it? I mean, you could literally see a guy in one of the videos kissing her on her neck. Call me old fashioned or whatever but that's not the kind of behavior I would expect of my country representative. You guys would eat Johnson alive if he did that shit and I'm not a fan of his at all.

Michael Gove is off his nut all the time and he seems to be coasting along just fine

I didn't say 'in private', I said 'in her private time'. I couldn't care less what she does and who sees it when she's not at work, and I think it's ridiculous that anyone would care - especially since the standard used is obviously that of old white dudes. Of course young people have fun with their friends. Why the hell would anyone care that she's partying and doing silly stuff? (I guess this time I'm doing an angry copy of @KirkDuyt!)

I don't know who 'you guys' refers to, but same with Johnson, I don't care about his private life. It's his political work I take issue with. Same also with Trump for that matter, and I think I've posted more than once that it irritates me that so much of the criticism during his presidency was about his behaviour - while the actually important and truly toxic stuff were his political decisons.

in short, yes, I think you're old-fashioned, and I'll add that your attempt to smear me with hypocrisy is very transparent and laughable.

I don't know if it is specifically you, but people lost their shit when Trump had McDonalds and an ice cream at a dinner party a few years ago. A large majority of these same people i'm seeing are now defending this behavior. That's just my observation.

And again, you try to pass this off as "just partying and having fun" when you damn well know that's not the problem. The problem is that she was filmed doing it. Who knows what various politicians are doing behind closed doors - she's certainly not the only one that indulges in booze, partying and drinking, but the problem is that she was filmed doing it and that's just amateurish and sloppy. And it's not like she didn't know she was being filmed because if that was the case you might have a point. Do you think it's a good look for the PM of a country who is married with child to have some random guy kissing her on the neck in a club? I mean... just answer me that. I seriously doubt we're going to agree on anything here anyway.

The hell are you talking about with Trump? When did this happen?

It certainly wasn't me. I don't care, and more generally anyway care very little about decorum and traditions. (I hate dress codes, as a random example.)

I suppose it's generally considered to be not a good look, but for me, once again, I couldn't care less. And I think society shouldn't care and I hope this sort of video helps get us all away from such old-fashioned notions of what is and isn't respectable behaviour. Cause I think they're ridiculous and painfully judgmental over nothing.

And as I said in the post you quoted here, it doesn't make the slightest difference to me if this was filmed or not. This is her private life (I can call it 'personal life' if the word 'private' trips you up), and she can do whatever she wants regardless of who sees it. So yes, I know damn well that you think it makes a difference, but if you read my post properly, you would have noticed that I don't think it's important and think that no-one should think it's important.

Actually, if you want to talk about hypocrisy: another thing that bothers me is that she can apparently do these things as long as it's not public knowledge, or publicly viewable (as you're saying yourself here), but it's an issue when it's not 'in secret' (so to speak). What the hell kind of difference does that make? The behaviour is exactly the same! It's not like she's having sex in public. She's just clubbing!
I love reading an irritated @Cheimoon
I aim to please! Maybe I should ping @Scarlett Dracarys as well.

The point is not what she does as a private citizen in her off-duty time, but how it is used as a distraction or to belittle her public standing as the leader of a government at a very challenging time. And yes, well knowing that, she should act way smarter with her time imho.

I don’t see any problem with her enjoying a night out, after all the Dail has a bar here in Ireland and when the toilets were checked a few years back all of them had traces of cocaine.

IMO, there is no such thing as a private life when you're a public figure. You need to be careful with what you're doing at all times because all eyes are on you. You would agree that her being the PM of a country kinda puts her in a different position than other middle aged women, would you? Sure, let's pretend she can do "whatever she wants" but at the same time she should be ready to face the consequences of such behavior.

The difference in being on camera and being not is again - appearance. Keeping appearance has been at the forefront of human civilization since the dawn of time and when it comes to political positions, even more so. You might not see anything wrong with what she's doing, but plenty of people do and that's what I'm trying to say. To say that everything is "fine and dandy" and "there's nothing to see here" is just ridiculous.

Yes, I would be fine with it if my PM looked like that.
Sure, you might jerk off to that video, but I'm sure you won't be happy with seeing your PM getting nailed... At the very least it'll be a huge international embarrassment irrespective of your opinion.

Again, I'm pretty sure she's not the only politician to indulge in coke and drugs. I'm not that naive, but she's the only one amateurish enough to have a video such as this released of. Most people in those kinds of positions know not to film themselves.

Should she take a vow of celibacy then? How is someone kissing her on the neck unacceptable.

I wish someone kissed Mark Rutte on the neck or see him genuinely having fun. It might convince me that he's an actual human and not an android constructed in a lab with the sole purpose to feck us over while smirking punchably.

Just out of interest, is Finland a very conservative country when it comes to, I dunno, women?

@Cheimoon my post was already supposed to convey mild annoyance :wenger:

She has voluntarily taken a drugs test as legal protection so I highly doubt she was indulging in coke and drugs. She's allowed to have a social life and let off steam, doesn't automatically mean she's a coke head.

So was she intimately dancing with a different guy than her husband?

People are different and I get that, but I personally wouldn't want another guy to hug and kiss my wife's neck. I know cuckolding is popular these days and maybe her husband is fine with that, or maybe he is not, I have no idea, but I've always found it weird as feck.

Johnson a particularly odd person to compare her to given it's public knowledge that he has had a string of affairs and an unknown number of children from them. God forbid a female PM does that.

The only weird as feck thing I see here is your take on this whole thing.

36 year old woman had some drinks and did some dancing with mates at a party SHOCK!

No she didn’t do anything illegal. No it didn’t suggest coke is legal. Yes of course it would matter if she was doing coke. Weird thinking from you here

Dancing at a party with friends, releasing a sex tape. Yes these things are actual very similar when you think about it

No, you couldn’t see someone kissing her neck in the video. Did you watch the video because you seem very confused about what went on

And you can find clips of loads of politicians dancing. The Boris Johnson point is hilarious

It’s telling that you have to repeatedly lie about what she did. She danced at a party with friends, she didn’t do drugs, she wasn’t kissed by a random guy, she dances at a party

Stop being so weird

Umm, dude, I'm not gonna argue anymore, but there's a video in which she is quite clearly being kissed on the neck by someone who is also grabbing her intimately. At any rate, let's just drop this nonsense because I won't change my opinion and neither will you guys change yours.

I thought you were referring just to the video in the op about the kissing. Fair point ill need to watch the other video because that is something that is fair ground for criticism. The other stuff though? Like you said I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree,

Can someone post the neck kissing video? The original one was not enough for a decent wank.

Seems like a good time to move this to general or delete altogether.

This is literally a story for the PC gone mad thread. How can someone be slightly bothered by someone else having fun?
