Sancho needs our support

It’s true. Remember the first player going through that process is Varun. Then, after two league games, Varun started and has been playing like new signing since.
I'd like to thank ETH for the support he showed and my family for being there for me.

Mountains are there to be climbed.

We’d play him on either wing, or as a AM, you know, his best positions, instead of playing him up front when we have other players who are better suited to that role. Or you know, we could just play him full back instead? Maybe in net? We have Sancho after all?
Haha it wasn't my suggestion to play him there mate. It was our manager that's talked up his ability to play the position. Plus he's been sent away to work on his fitness. Possibly bulking up to help out up top? Who knows?

 Apologises then! You see all kinds of random takes on here sometimes and it’s hard to distinguish what is someone’s fever dream and what’s actually been said.

I saw the most mental excuse for Martial the other day and it was that he’s shit because we play two DM’s and if we didn’t he’d score bagfuls…

The OX has been with Liverpool since 2017 while Keita has been there since 2018. Both are tipped to leave in the summer as Liverpool aren't that stupid to offer them contract extensions. Jones had been here since 2011 and Tuanzebe has been with us since 2015 despite having just 37 appearances with us. That's not the sign of a properly run club. I am pretty sure that ambitious owners will focus more on how many trophies the club will win and less on how many cuddles we give to our little birds with a broken wing

Agreed 100%.
The culture of mollycuddling players at this club has led us down a path of no trophies for several years (past and future).
I know many people feel sorry for Sancho (or their favourite player), but if it was me I was eject players who are not cut out for playing to win trophies.
Players like Jones should have been told to leave several years ago and IF Sancho fails to deliver quickly, he too, should be shown the door. We have too many passengers in the team and fans seem to love them.

Any chance he could be available for Charlton on Tuesday? Ideal opponent to ease him back into the fold against and gain some minutes but more so confidence in himself.

He could literally turn out like a new signing if ETH has the same sort of impact he has had on Rashford.

Don't think he is even training with the team at the moment. Won't see him on the pitch for several more weeks.

Molly's cuddles are the best:cool:

I’m sure there was a video of him in England, possibly at training? Might not be with the team though

At Carrington now but still training individually. No indication when he will train with the team but assume another week or two at least. Reading in the FA Cup might be a potential return but just a guess.

He doesn't need our support, he just needs to work hard and the fans will be behind him, no one supported Dalot, a lot of people would be ok if he was sold, but he worked hard and now the fans love him, if Sancho wants to get the support, it is simple, he has to prove he worth supporting, the fact he is a Manchester United player does not grant him eternal support.
Yes, I agree with that. He may well have some issues outside football at the moment, but surely there are some issues inside football as well. The football director at Dortmund said there were no limits for what Sancho could achieve - as soon as he learned to live as a top athlete... After the corona break, he came back overweight and totally out of form, and the same has been his habit after the summer breaks (for a change, he was good this preseason, though). Sancho needs to pull himself together, or we might well find ourselves regretting we signed him at all.

The optimist in me tells me he's been trained by Pai Mei in the Netherlands & is going to unleash the five point palm exploding heart technique on Guardiola

Don’t think we’ll see him again until that 3 match spell of Forrest, Reading, Forrest.

I have almost forgot about him. It seems so long since he last played and with Garnacho breaking onto the team he havent really missed him.

He might be better off taking the season off to build up his intensity and pace.
We have Marcus, Garnacho, Antony Facundro and Elanga for the wing spots anyway so we are not short on those positions.
Sancho could really focus on the athletic side of fitness and do some serious sprint training and really strengthen up as he has one of if not the best techniques at the club so he could be a monster in 23/24.

It's the perfect set of games for him to come back into the team, if he comes back fresh and and in form it could transform our season. We can't rely on Garnacho

Must be your first time at TheCaf. People aren't here to support the players or the team. They are here to pissss all over everyone and anyone that they can. This place is toxic...

The best way to develop as a player is by playing actual games.
It's a long season, we are still in 4 competitions and we are 2 injuries away from starting a much weaker attack. We need Sancho back asap.

What he lacks is speed and intensity hence my post and if he had both he would have a big impact in the Premier League.

Take the season off?
No player would willingly take a season off. At any level. It would destroy him.

He is not going to lose his skill set which is up there with the best I have seen but if he was a couple of yards quicker and added power and stamina to his game then we would have a real player on our hands.
I don't want to carry on watching him scared of really going at his marker and being gassed on the hour mark because he will struggle to make the starting 11 if that is the case.

Falling very far behind in pecking order.

The longer he takes, the further he falls behind.

Will be interesting to see his hunger and drive to get back in as a starter.
Without it, he's done here.

I used to think the NHL forums were bad, but Redcafe has shown me that there are always more miserable cnuts out there with too much free time on their hands

There is really no need to do this.

I trust Ten Hag to integrate him back. He could well be like a new signing and prove very important to the run in.

No need to rush him back in. mind you last season Rashford looked even more lost than Sancho looks now and look how he transformed this season. being in the right state mentally is absolutely crucial and I trust ETH to help him get there the same way he did with Rashford. Sancho 100% has the ability to succeed here.

There is being fit and there is being match fit.
You gain fitness and confidence on the pitch, not off it. Keeping him out for a season would destroy him.

Starting to think this was more a punishment than anything else.

Sends a clear message to the rest of the squad what happens if you can't stay fit in this team. Do Martial next please.

Why? There's been no indication from ETH, the club or anything in the media that it's a punishment.

I stated that I think he could be better served doing training like track athletes do such as sprinting and endurance training which is intense, probably more so than football training.
These two things are glaring faults in his game which have not been addressed before and are holding him back from fulfilling his potential in England.
If Erik is addressing this in the program he set for him then all well and good.
