Sancho back in training

This is what I was hoping for and hopefully they have decided that whatever was said between them this week shall remain between them and we move on.

Whatever people think of him he is a very good player and we need as many of these as we can get. Feck it I'm even going to give Antony a chance this season.

Steady on there, don’t get too carried away.

But on the Sancho front if he’s up for it and the manager is cool with it, then yeah why not.

He can stay if he apologises for being a crybaby and on top of that, starts to act like a professional football player and actually makes an effort to get better.

Maybe both have been mature about things.

There has been some talk of a new start so let’s see how it plays out.

I completely disagree. The reason I want him gone is because he's not a good player.

Antony gets dogs abuse for not being good enough to justify the stupid price we paid for him, even though he always puts in the effort on and off the field. For all his faults and the frustrations we have with him, I don't think he can ever be accused of dialling it in.

Meanwhile this pampered boychild disrespects a manager who has gone above and beyond for him, then lets down his teammates, the club and the fans because he's too much of a child to acknowledge that he messed up - and fans on here welcome him back with open arms.

We deserve everything that's happened to us over the past decade. People want success but then celebrate the very antithesis of what's needed to earn it.

Perhaps just putting on a brave face to get a sale through. Nothing he’s done at the club tells me he has what it takes and we’d be foolish to rely on him.

Disappointing. Was hoping we’d get rid, really. I’d rather see any minutes he could get in the team given to Amad

Reports said INEOS wanted to sell Sancho regardless of EtH staying or leaving, if that's true then he is either off on permanent basis or on loan deal.

The window is open for a long time - bring him back into the fold and either he makes a major impact or he can still be sold - after all it must be easier to get good value when selling a player who is a part of the squad rather than off loading an exile

I know what you mean on the bolded, I really want him gone, not only because of his stinking attitude but he isn't that good to be kept around

Get him out of this club as soon as possible. He doesn’t have the right mentality. It’s only a matter of time before he shows up late again and the whole drama starts all over.

I’m not a fan of how he behaved and wouldn’t be sorry to see him go. But if he’s willing to come back and put some effort in, and he can find his form again, he feels like a good fit for the team we seem to be trying to become. He’s got good feet and can beat a man, and should make for some interesting passing triangles with mainoo down that right hand side.

If he starts playing well for us, I'll like him again.

I don't think this is any kind of negotiating tactics or whatever. He's here until he has another strop which, if I was to hazard a guess, will come at a really fecking inconvenient time.

This must be one of the strongest pre season squads (on paper) we have had in an international tournament year.

It couldn’t be allowed to go on as not really in anyone’s interests but we still need to get rid. Having him and Antony on the books is last thing anyone wants, their fees and wages add up to something like 50m per season in terms of PSR. Not sustainable for subs who probably won’t even get much more than 5 goals between them.

I made a lot of worse mistakes than him at 24, still would like some sort of public apology or even no apology just that he's committed to United.

I guarantee Ten Hag will make some comment in his next interview that he has to work hard and keep the pace with rest of players and then it will start all over again

Yours was the 12th post in the thread. About 2 before you were in any way describing they were happy with this. You’ve created a reason to annoy yourself.

:+1:

Hopefully he can reproduce the same numbers he did at Dortmund last year that got him all those plaudits. The numbers that were eerily similar to Antony’s….

I don’t like his attitude and I’d love to know if he’s apologised to Ten Hag or whether Ten Hag’s hand has been forced. He should have a huge amount of motivation to prove people wrong so time will tell if he can.

So did I. I often got a bollocking for it as well - some of those bollockings even happened in front of other people and I can remember a couple of times where I even felt hard done by afterwards.

But even as a 24 year old (or a 20, 18 or 16 year old), I never called out my boss as a liar publicly. If I was stroppy at the time, I was always man enough to hold my hand up later when I'd calmed down. And when I knew I'd messed up, even if it sometimes took me a little longer to acknowledge in my younger years, I was always eventually able to look back on it as something I needed to work on and get better at in the future.

Now everybody is different, and Jadon clearly isn't capable of that sort of self reflection. But we have no business paying several hundred thousand pounds a week to someone who isn't serious about improving as a player and a person.

If he’s happy to play the way the manager wants and accepts criticism when it’s deserved then it’s worth giving him another chance. Saves us money on buying another winger and we can invest it other areas. His loan at Dortmund wasn’t all that impressive though so not sure how effective he will be for us but hopefully he’s something to prove now and performs for us.

When I started typing my post there was one post - the opening post of the thread. The first sentence was "This is what I was hoping for".

There were also a number of posts in the other thread with similar sentiments.

I really don't like the idea of both Sancho and Antony still being on the books going into another season. Two players that are costing us a fortune in wages and have produced practically nothing. Surely something has got to give here with INEOS.

I do think that we have fielded a few offers from clubs who are thinking they can put in stupid lowball bids because we want rid. Sancho is not a Greenwood situation where we are washing our hands and this is probably intended to demonstrate that to interested parties that we are quite happy to tell them to jog on if they don't want to make a realistic offer.

Still hoping a team comes in for him before he gets a chance to put a United shirt on. If you disrespect the manager you shouldn't play for him again. Add to that we are paying so much in wages for a player who at best is a third choice winger here and clearly isn't that good in the prem it make sense to get rid.

I am certain this is not the end of this story.

The very next time he is not picked, or falls asleep, or is late to training, or all of the above - shit will explode again.

This is why principles are important, and you don't just forget what happened. Sir Alex shipped many players far better than Sancho, for far less than what Sancho did. And while some of those were regrettable buy fans, that was the last time United was great
