Sanchez

Barcelona will definitely sell Sanchez come summer, not a slither of a doubt about it. The only matter is to whom and for how much. Juventus, Liverpool and United are the three clubs that have been linked with him.

Word is that Luis Enrique wants a classic number 9 for the next season (some much needed height for our merry band of vertically challenged players) and there have been several names thrown in the Barcelona press. Pelle who plays in Holland, Llorrente, Gomez and several other, more high profile names have been already mentioned. But we will definitely see a new-look Barca next season.
Swap Rooney for Sanchez and I'll explode in a cloud of joy relief and jizz

Absolutely. Can see him settling immediately into the team

Unfortunately i can't see us getting him. He seems contented at Barca and didn't moan a piece whenever he was dropped
Barca are willing to let pretty much anyone go other then Messi, Iniesta and Neymar from their attack, they're going through a big rebuild this summer. He'd probably be willing to move too because he's not really first choice. He plays loads but its sort of like Tevez for us, come the big games he's not first choice and is moved around a lot.

Let's hope LvG shows some interest in him. I enjoyed watching him in the 2010 World Cup, i'm going to do the same next month as well. Fantastic footballer

I knew he'd fail at Barca. I wouldn't touch him for £35 mill.

Has Pedro "failed" at Barcelona? Sánchez hasn't excelled and Barcelona can improve on him but I would happily take a player who can score 47 goals in three seasons. Nani has been here for 7 years and scored 40 goals. Young, Valencia and Nani over the last three seasons have managed just 36 goals. Standards are exceptionally high for Barcelona attackers and he's failed to meet those standards but by any other measure he's done well. We certainly wouldn't be wanting rid of him if he put up those numbers for us. There was a period this season where he looked like he was starting to realise his potential at Barcelona when he scored 11 goals in 11 games around the time when he scored that chip against Madrid. Scored some beautiful goals in that run as well. In that run he scored 3 goals in 2 games for Chile which led to him finishing as Chile's most productive player (goals & assists-wise) in the qualifiers. He's 25 and still improving so I'd love to have him here because we badly need that injection of pace, directness and threat in behind from one of our wide players if Rooney, Mata and van Persie are in the team. He may not be as good as Reus but he would offer a lot of qualities that our team needs and he could flourish here because of that.

Yet still gets sold. To be honest, any half decent attacker that gets games at Barca would probably put out good numbers.

Well according to this he is fore sale for 18 mill. Can't really trust that story.

But, I can see that he is maybe to direct for Barca and a winger that would suit us better than them. Maybe he is not appriciated as he should be there. But, I have seen him since the River Plate and Colo Colo time (I'm friends with a chilean family, so pretty much got to see and hear everything about him and still is) and he is fantastic. He is also a United supporter.

Pedro or Sanchez? Either would take to the league like a duck to water, either way.

Alexis is a much better player in my view, and I think he'd look a lot better outside of Barcelona whereas I think the opposite might be true with Pedro.

Agreed. Thank feck we didn't sign that useless lump Yaya Toure when Barca sold him.

derp derp derp

Well Barca has sold players for less. Ibrahimovic was one which i can recall right now

Ibra had to be got rid asap for several reasons (age, wages, fallout with the manager, Villa signing) and there were very few interested parties at the time. This is definitely not the case with Alexis.

Alexis definitely looks physically built for the Premier League. A player who has a real burst pace and dribbling abilities, physically strong and can score a few goals would make for one of the best wingers in the league. Pedro, under van Gaal would work, imo. Nowhere near as physically strong, nor technically gifted, but his reading of the play and movement would make him a menace down the right wing. He is lighting quick and is very clinical, put him in on goal and he'd find the net 9 times out of 10. An outlet in a possessive based system (as shown under Barcelona) is what is needed.

Aye, that's how I see it too.

He's a bloody brilliant player, anything under £38 million and we should be going in for him. Problem is that he will and should be a nailed on starter with Pedro's horrific form this year. If Pedro had continued playing brilliantly there would be a chance of him leaving because across their front 3 when everyone is fit, Neymar and Messi are in the XI by default

I do agree, I'd be in for Alexis over Pedro, but I wouldn't turn down either. Pedro would still be in an 'A-list' tier if we're chasing wingers.

I clearly don't rate Sanchez as much of a lot of you. In fact, I'd take Pedro over him.

What should we do if it is 39 million?

If Barca were to bring in Suarez as rumored though he would be available.

With Liverpool going for Konoplyankakakakaka or whatever he's called I reckon they're out of the equation.

Pedro's horrific form?

Pedro has 23 goals and 13 assists. Sanchez ended up with 27 and 14 assists. Both had pretty good seasons in what proved to be Barcelona's worst season in years.

Don't know if you regularly watch Barcelona but he has been poor in 2014 (hence I said this year) after a brilliant start at the end of 2013 where he got something like 2 or 3 hat tricks. He was also pretty poor last season (12/13). Point is that Neymar and Messi will be expected to always start next season when fit , leaving Sanchez and Pedro to scrap it out for the RW spot, and Sanchez overall has been the better performer throughout the whole season
