Our Chile superstar has had his say about the situation at Old Trafford as the transfer window ends.

He has said that he would have liked Manchester United to have signed "many more world-class players" in the summer transfer window and that he did not expect United to add any more players before the before 5pm.

"I would have liked that they had signed many more world-class players," Sanchez said. "But it's the club's decision."

He said of our only first team contender signing, Brazilian international, Fred that he expects him to be a great addition.

"The truth is that [Fred] impressed me a lot in his first game," Sanchez said. "It's what the team lacked - someone who plays 'jogo bonito,' as they say in Brazil. And Andreas Pereira too. I think they are two players who have quality and they could help me a lot."
The Portuguese phrase jogo bonito means "beautiful game".

He said on Thursday that he feels more comfortable at United now following a full preseason with the club and hopes to combine more effectively with teammates.

"Today I am more comfortable," he said. "I am calm. My teammates have to be focused. I also have to. I depend on them. If they are well, me too.

"It's [improving] positively, it goes better. I think it will be seen now in the games when we play with Paul [Pogba], with Fred with Lukaku and with all the rest who are playing. There we will understand better which is the best way [to get the most out of the team].

When asked where on the pitch he feels most comfortable, Sanchez added: "Close to the goal to score. In general, I like to always be in contact with the ball."

Maybe if he didn't demand such huge wages we could afford to sign more players. Hate this mentality, they want ridiculous money for themselves and then question why we haven't signed more world class talent. Rooney pulled the same stunt with us. He hogged the wage bill but then asked why we didn't sign better players. Can't have it both ways.

Utter nonsense. Our wage bill is 45% of our revenue. Second lowest in the league.

How's about you take responsibility for the attack, you come up with the goods?

Nah, thought not.

Players will look at this type of window and rightfully question the ambition of the club. The Glazers have to go.

Good to see players backing the manager on this. How many of them are sitting around thinking, yeah I'm happy with all that I've got around me? Whichever players those are, boot them along with Woodward.

He should try doing something for us before he starts talking about who we should be signing.

He must be regretting signing for us, even with the money he's on

Fergie got rid of Keane for a similar comment  He's not wrong though, we don't have enough technically great players in our team. What I've seen from Sanchez so far he could definitely improve on a few things as well.

We should sell Luke Shaw's body fat and make millions for all the world class players! lol

Maybe he should look at his own performances before questioning the quality of his teammates.

You can’t help but wonder if Sanchez signing and the team not looking any better was a factor in the board wondering if the money is really being spent right by the manager.

If a player like De Gea said this, then I would say they’re entitled to feel like this, but Sánchez should keep his head down and focus on his own performance.

Did he say no in your imagination? I’m surprised at that, he seems like a trier to me.

Brilliant. I love Redcafe

Yep, 400k a week for a tried, he should keep his mouth shut until he produces even a handful of decent performances.

As of now he's played well, twice.......

Not his place to say.

How do you think his teammates will react when they hear that, especially given his performance level so far for us?

Funny thing is, Sanchez left Arsenal because he felt the club was not ambitious enough and wasn't investing enough in buying players at his level who could then challenge for the title. I wonder how he feels now at United considering this transfer window. De javu?

it's even funnier when you think back on the SAF era and how people bemoaned the club for being so tight on wages and agent fees. Now apparently it's the opposite and we're paying players too much. Can't win.

He needs to shut up and start performing himself. So far he has been a dud, creating more problems than solving them.

He can stop whining. Arsenal never had players like DDG, Pogba, Lukaku when he was there. They never spent the sort of money we've spent in the last few years. Just because he came in before a summer where we didn't spend money like that doesn't mean it's all moot.

Also, he's been fecking shite so far. Our little Chilean needs to cop on and live up to his own supposed world class label.

I can tell this thread will be a delight.

Its funny because its coming from him, this is not Arsenal.

Did anyone in the Premier League sign a world class player this summer? Ronaldo aside, it's been a fairly low key transfer window. Players going for big sums of money, but that's the market now. Very little in the way of world class match winners switching clubs. Excluding Ronaldo, the biggest moves in Europe were probably two goalkeepers.

He's said absolutely nothing wrong there. Hasn't criticised anyone, praised several of his team mates, and then stated he expects himself and the team to improve this season. Yet people somehow manage to turn it into a negative and a reason to criticise him, because he's stated a fecking obvious fact.

Honestly I think if we don't do well this season, a lot of it will be down to the number of our fans who seem to be willing the team to do badly or constantly having a go at players or the manager for absolutely feck all.

If I was a United player I'd be loathed to play with the "support" I'd get from some of you lot. Criticism is fine but it's absolutely ridiculous on here.

Keane wasn't wrong in the concept. Also Rooney doing a similar thing re Ozil signing wasn't wrong either imo. They could have addressed it better though, and we all know how aggressive Keane is, but the concept itself shows ambitions and desire of the team to be better, not just taking wages and enjoy them even if the team isn't winning.

Problem is people just look at the headline and comment on that. The full interview is fine and he hasn't said much wrong.

Perhaps Sanchez should lead by example & give some world class performances, which he is paid to do, & so far failed.

If things don’t go well for United this season, it won’t be down to some posters on the redcafe being negative. Agree with your point about Sanchez, don’t think he said much wrong here at all.

Go back to Arsenal then where you can mix it up with Bellerin. When he had world class players around him he had to leave the club.

maybe he should have signed for city then rather then coming here because more money was on offer for him. bit of a hard neck considering how poor he has been for us so far.

I'm not sure even the Glazers care as much about their money as some posters here.

He needs to focus on his own performances instead of worrying about who's coming in. The club have spent millions in building this team and although we have neglected some key areas in this window we still have some quality players like De gea, Bailly, Pogba, Martial, Lukaku and Sanchez himself.

If he would drop his salary by £100k/week and all that money went directly to our transfer budget, then we would get ~£5mil more to buy players for every summer.
How would that make any difference at all in regards to how many players a club like United can afford to buy?
