Sanchez says he wishes Man Utd signed 'many more world-class players'

Nice that he name checks Andreas Pereira, him and Fred could help our attack considerably. Not as they'll do a lot of attacking themselves but by recycling possession quicker than last season and getting the ball forward faster, something the likes of Herrera and Fellaini failed to do so often last season, instead looking to play it to our CBs.

It's been a very long time since we've had a group of players whose quality matches the size and ambition of our club.

[sarcasm]
omg, what the hell. A player saying the club should have better players. don't you know that the only ones allowed to ask for better players for the club are some enlightened ones that live in this forum?

How deep United fell. Manager asking for better players, players asking for better players. Don't you know that we have great players, world class really, like Martial and Luke Shaw. Darmian and Jones. Now, just because you played for arsenal you should go back there because here the only guys that have a saying is the fans.

[/sarcasm]

Omg, the state of this forum. And just the manager is the negative one. :D

doesn't he know we've just signed Chivas?

Problem is people just look at the headline and comment on that. The full interview is fine and he hasn't said much wrong.

Maybe if he didn't demand such huge wages we could afford to sign more players. Hate this mentality, they want ridiculous money for themselves and then question why we haven't signed more world class talent. Rooney pulled the same stunt with us. He hogged the wage bill but then asked why we didn't sign better players. Can't have it both ways.

How's about you take responsibility for the attack, you come up with the goods?

Nah, thought not.

He should try doing something for us before he starts talking about who we should be signing.

Maybe he should look at his own performances before questioning the quality of his teammates.

You can’t help but wonder if Sanchez signing and the team not looking any better was a factor in the board wondering if the money is really being spent right by the manager.

If a player like De Gea said this, then I would say they’re entitled to feel like this, but Sánchez should keep his head down and focus on his own performance.

Yep, 400k a week for a tried, he should keep his mouth shut until he produces even a handful of decent performances.

As of now he's played well, twice.......

Not his place to say.

How do you think his teammates will react when they hear that, especially given his performance level so far for us?

He needs to shut up and start performing himself. So far he has been a dud, creating more problems than solving them.

He can stop whining. Arsenal never had players like DDG, Pogba, Lukaku when he was there. They never spent the sort of money we've spent in the last few years. Just because he came in before a summer where we didn't spend money like that doesn't mean it's all moot.

Also, he's been fecking shite so far. Our little Chilean needs to cop on and live up to his own supposed world class label.

Problem is people just look at the headline and comment on that. The full interview is fine and he hasn't said much wrong.

I don’t believe that. Only idiots would comment on something after only reading the headline.

We only want to sign world class players at the price they go for if the are marketable, those kinds of players would rather not play for us since we play shit defensive football.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said.

Spot on. But don't say that because it's forbidden to be "negative". We can win the Champions League with Smalling, say that a thousand times.

For anyone who holds our club to high standards, as I do, there is a lot to be negative about unfortunately.

How many big name players who moved in this window would have fit into our squad. A genuine question?

I think he needs to get his head down and start playing at a level that befits his reputation, ability and his wages. He is currently the top earner at United... I mean, come on, who negotiates this stuff on behalf of the club? An undergraduate at Manchester Business School?

He's said absolutely nothing wrong there. Hasn't criticised anyone, praised several of his team mates, and then stated he expects himself and the team to improve this season. Yet people somehow manage to turn it into a negative and a reason to criticise him, because he's stated a fecking obvious fact.

Honestly I think if we don't do well this season, a lot of it will be down to the number of our fans who seem to be willing the team to do badly or constantly having a go at players or the manager for absolutely feck all.

If I was a United player I'd be loathed to play with the "support" I'd get from some of you lot. Criticism is fine but it's absolutely ridiculous on here.

Not just on here, it's everywhere.

People are actually hoping we don't win the league or get top 4 in order for Mourinho to get sacked

It is absolutely fecking baffling!!

We all saw it with Moyes, a rabbit in the headlines.
We saw it with LvG. We saw what he was trying to do but, couldn't execute it at all and was failing. He had to go.

So far, we've been the best and most stable we've been since Fergie left and people are calling for his head? I don't like some of his traits but, fecking hell...

An absolute joke!

Yeah. I mean I think a lot of the actual constructive or reasoned criticism is fair. Our performances and standard of football served up for the second half of last season was not good.

Even the questioning of his management of certain players I can understand. There's not a lot I entirely disagree with when it comes to gripes.

But it's the way everyone just invents criticisms out of absolutely nothing...and then uses them to attack Mourinho, and now Sanchez. And the constantness of it. No one ever takes a bloody break. People moaning about how tiring it is when mourinho moans...but we only hear from him once or twice a week, and he at least moans about actual things that are happening ...and even when he doesn't, everyone just pretends he does. On here it's relentless and constantly irrational, based often on nothing but hysteria or agendas. It actually is tiring. I get tired reading it and fighting the urge to not constantly point out how silly it is.

The reality is we finished 2nd last season behind a team who set the bar extremely high. Go back 2 years and we were a 6th place team who couldn't win a single game without it being a massive struggle. Go back a year and we could win games comfortably but were still a 6th placed team. We have actually improved. Criticism yes but let's have some balance and optimism to go with it. Or failing that at least, you know, realism.

WHy should he make a comment like this:nono: that's a little disappointing, I started to like him but anyway he's right if that makes us compete more than I am okay with it for now but we should sign a better manager first becasue we already have some great palyers just need to make them play well. Including sanchez who should try his best himself. First perform and then speak

"The truth is that [Fred] impressed me a lot in his first game," Sanchez said. "It's what the team lacked - someone who plays 'jogo bonito,' as they say in Brazil. And Andreas Pereira too. I think they are two players who have quality and they could help me a lot."
The Portuguese phrase jogo bonito means "beautiful game".
The guy in a nutshell. FFS. It's all me me me with him.

Nothing to be upset about there, good interview. I imagine the 'world class players' quote was a reply to a question about whether he would have liked to see more signings - players always answer yes to that one because the alternative is 'no, because I don't want competition for my place'. It's just one of those automatic footballer answers.

I hope Mourinho is listening to the joga bonito comment. He has a lot of key players who want to play attacking, expansive football now. How long can he go against the grain of his own squad.

If they did sign many more world class players then he'd end up being one of the first for the chopping block. I still think he'll be useless again this season.

He’s just a muppet like us. The only difference is that he actually wants to enjoy his football. You only enjoy it if you play good football with actual footballers. No shocker there. Pogba and I’m sure many others in the team are thinking the exact same

He isn't wrong on saying this. But I think thr timing is ill-informed. Produce what was expected of you first and then you can talk about the rest of the team.

I honestly believe he regrets his decision unless it is just money that gets him by. I think he looks so frustrated when playing for us and I also think he was probably told in January that in the summer we would buy well and really challenge for major honours this season. All my opinion but after being there 6 months now he knows this current squad is not getting near a league or CL title.

If the season goes awry and we see this guy smirking at our failings from the bench I'll be so angry with Wenger.

This logic makes no bloody sense. Its said about Pogba, Martial, now Sanchez. You do realise its these very same players who if they play to their absolute max are more than capable of a title challenge. Odd how when they don't play well you say that! Surely it's the lingards who never stop running and putting in the required shift who should be thinking jesus the more talented players are not giving enough I'm outta here!

Probably thinks he's gone and joined another Arsenal.

I've noticed a parallelism between the state of this forum and the state of the manager. Under Ferguson, the caf was bullish, all out, consistent, and relentless in being the best. Now it's unsmiling, complainy, and lives in a hotel.

How many big name players who moved in this window would have fit into our squad. A genuine question?

Not necessarily big name, but Lemar, Keita, Fabinho and Rodrigo definitely would have helped us. Hopefully Fred can be as good as Keita.

The only players who don't want us to sign world class talent are the ones who shouldn't be starting themselves.

It's always been the case at United that talent comes in, even our class of 92 back in the day spoke of having to be consistent to keep their place. Players want to win and that means playing with top talent. It's why i chuckle whenever you hear moans about managers saying they want signings as if players are gonna be hurt by this.

Funny thing is, Sanchez left Arsenal because he felt the club was not ambitious enough and wasn't investing enough in buying players at his level who could then challenge for the title. I wonder how he feels now at United considering this transfer window. De javu?
He said that he would liked that something happened and then it didn't happen. I imagine he feels disappointed.

Nothing wrong with what he said, but he's the last person who should say it.

Only thing he's achieved so far at this club is becoming the highest paid player in the premier league history.

Sanchez to Ed: Where's the reinforcement, the heavy cavalry?
Ed: You are the heavy cavalry

Fergie got rid of Keane for a similar comment  He's not wrong though, we don't have enough technically great players in our team. What I've seen from Sanchez so far he could definitely improve on a few things as well.

Keane criticised the entire team, making scathing remarks on his teammates, including the younger ones. Sanchez praised his teammates, and said that the team, including himself, has to improve.

Spot the difference?

He must be regretting signing for us, even with the money he's on

Yeah he could be earning less and have less chance of winning things with la arse if he’d stayed where he was. I’m sure he can’t sleep at night suffering the pain of signing for United.

I very much agree with all you have said.
I have my own grumbles and worry about the lack of reinforcements and the mundane football.
But the extent to which fans are criticising Jose and now Sanchez is very way overblown, and frankly very tedious.

How's about you take responsibility for the attack, you come up with the goods?

Nah, thought not.
Go back to Arsenal then where you can mix it up with Bellerin. When he had world class players around him he had to leave the club.
I think he needs to get his head down and start playing at a level that befits his reputation, ability and his wages. He is currently the top earner at United... I mean, come on, who negotiates this stuff on behalf of the club? An undergraduate at Manchester Business School?
thought Sanchez was world class he plays worse than our current crop.

Martial FC is out in force.
