Sadio Mane | Performances

Should've been off. VAR would've seen him red carded 100%.

Love seeing unbiased opinions from fans of their own teams. Fair play to you sir.

(I haven’t seen the incident but even if it was a dead cert red, you’d still get fans trying to justify & defend things like this).

He grabbed his neck. It's not really the kind of thing you can defend, honestly

The commentator sums it up pretty well

Said it in the newbs that we should sign this guy, that was before he went to 'pool obviously, would have been perfect for us! Our right hand side has been dead for years.

Dead? Is it harder to write than "good"? Or "done"? Dead... when I was growing up in manc it ment crap by the the way, as in "that's dead, mate" or dead in there chap = no girls.

As in, our right hand side has been crap for years ?

If Salah isn't performing, Mane is. If both aren't, Firmino probably steps up.

If one of our front three don't perform, the whole thing falls to shit.

The fecker is heading towards a 20+ goals season. Wish we would have signed him instead of that dirty rat.

Loads of people said he wasn’t good enough for us while I was desperate for us to sign him. I still can’t belive Jose didn’t buy him as he tore his Chelsea team apart a few times.

I respect you for that. I was really happy when we were linked to him when LVG arrived but then we ended up signing a player who everyone in the universe knew was only going to stay for 1 year before fecking off to PSG. Shambolic lack of judgement.

Great player who struggled a bit with being over-shadowed last season but has gone up another level this year

He's been scoring a ridiculous amount of goals recently. Carrying that attack at the moment.

When the Pedro deal fell through, we were linked to him, and most said he wasn't good enough. I would have been happy to sign him.

I don't remember if I was actually against signing him, but I'll definitely put my hand-up and admit I wasn't excited by the idea of signing him, and I was very wrong about that.

I think my reasoning was more about if he could make the step-up to a big club rather than his ability, or if he'd go all Schneiderlin. Maybe one day he will move to a big club and we'll find-out :smirk:

But anyway I don't think he'd have been as good for us as he has been for Liverpool - it seems like the vast majority of their signings turn-out brilliant, whilst we generally end-up being disappointed. Whether that's down to the scouting, the board, or the managers of each club (or combination of all three), there's no guarantee he'd have been as good for us.

You're contradicting yourself, you're saying "If one of our front three don't perform, the whole thing falls to shit" then please explain the first line .

Think he is talking about Man United in the second part.

Their entire team plays better football than us. Their cohesion, fluidity etc is far ahead. It's absolutely not as simple as you put it. Their front three is better of course. But we need to work on a complete and all round improvement rather than just signing a Sanchez and expecting improvement.

If we sign a ball playing CB it'll take pressure off our CMs and make us more press resistant. If we sign a playmaking CM we'll have another midfielder taking burden off Pogba to create and run the game. If we sign a RW it'll transform our attack as we'll actually have a right wing and balance to our attacks, and teams can't just park themselves on Pogba and Martial all day.

Would have had him here but only as a stopgap or squad player. Not the spark we need and will further solidify their Europa League spot.

I know this is an old quote but.. Yeah a first team player who's helped solidify our Champions League spot since he's arrived.

My MotM yesterday. Constant trouble for all 90 minutes, always putting 110% effort and even lack of Salah and Firmino didn’t stop him. Probably the transfer that didn’t happen I regret most in last few years, we were heavily linked with him. What a player.

He is only doing the same thing he did for Southampton against Liverpool for Liverpool against other teams now.

I recall him saying he didn't want to play for us. We were in for him but he didn't want to go so not much we could do
