Probably like £25m minimum. He's one of their best players, just joined Southampton last season and he's young.

It's just a genetics thing. All the fastest sprinters are black, ofcourse you have a players like C.Ronaldo which are a freak of the nature but the point still stands. I don't know what is wrong with pointing that out, i just defended him because his comment probably didn't meant to be racist if they were it is another story, well mine was definetly not.
 
Well this came out of nowhere. A backup plan for if the Pedro deal falls through? Sort of makes sense in that context if so but I'm still not sold on him considering they'd probably be after a fee similar to Pedro anyway.

Edit: I guess I'm behind on my muppetry news. Pedro to Chelsea? what the feck happened there?

Well all more reason to try and replicate that and play Mata there and stick Depay and another pacey player on the wing, not in the middle

Surely we or they wouldn't have leaked the bid if there wasn't a chance of him moving?

I mean if he was a target we'd have been doing the ground work before now?

That's cool. I have a lot more respect form him now that I'm convinced he's not doing it for the money. Does he travel a lot for pidgeon racing? We're playing Liverpool on the 12th :nervous:

With good reason. Schneiderlin's been top class for years and Shaw's one of England's hottest young prospects.

This guy obviously has a lower profile. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good signing though. I've no idea, personally. Unlike our resident experts.
 


Sounds like a leak from United simply to divert attention away from Pedro.

Nani was booed by his own fans and generally criticised for 3 years. All Mane would have to do is play 10 games and he would be an improvement on that.

I do agree if Nani was the same player as when we bought him.
 
I think a lot of people critiscize him for nothing. He took about a month or two to adapt to the PL (when pelle was romping the league) and since then he has been their best attacker. He is a very good finisher and plays relatively well through the middle and in the wings. Crosses are good and if saints had a good striker last year he could possibly have got more assists.

He is welbeck with better finishing skills (which isn't a bad trait) and whether he is going to make it here is anyone's guess. He is hardly inconsistent anymore than other PL players. Even players like Costa and aguero goes about 2 months without scoring every season. He was Southampton's most consistent attacker.

While I think he won't become world class, I think if he is actually bought he will be a Valencia 2009 kind of signing. But I don't see it happening to be completely honest
 
The black ratio really has fallen off since LVG.. The whip and Nay Nay.. would have looked so much better yesterday with Mane in the side... Jokes aside.. Never really noticed him but if he has rapid pace like some have disgust why not...

We always moan that we never unearth diamonds from other clubs, this might be one.
 
Would rather have Candreva tbh, even if he is cup tied for UCL. Perfect LVG winger, like having someone who plays like young on the right now.
 
If this is the player our manager wants, I say go get him.. I trust the manager's ability to judge the situation than some tabloid journalist writing article after article about how another player snubbed United for club X or Y..

I see a lot here are underwhelmed by us potentially signing Mane, and I read a few calling our club a joke..

With social media, reactions seem to go on an overdrive..

I wonder how people would have reacted if Social Media was present back in those days, when we signed players like Solksjaer after missing out on Shearer and Kluivert..

Or signing a certain Eric Cantona after he had just scored 9 goals the previous season..

Sometimes it is not which player we sign or how much he costs.. It is about whether he works in a system..

I will say that, I was all for signing Pedro.. But if this is what the manager wants, I trust his judgement..
 
Some people are going overboard with their criticism in my opinion. From what I've seen and heard he was one of Saints better players last season. He's fast and can dribble a bit as well. Not a dream signing but not one that should have people ready to hang themselves either.

Yeah but anyway, I'm not arsed about Pedro, I saw the likes of Shaw and Memphis break at pace the other day, so I'd like to see more pacey players, Pedro wasn't particularly pacey but there's a Welsh bloke in Madrid who is.(I don't mean my Welsh mate Gavin who's gone to Madrid on holiday...)
