Fred costs the team way more games though.

His highs are a measly 7/10 and his lows which happen too much are full on 1/10 games
Yeah, no doubt, but he's also a genuine pain in the behind for opposing teams with his running and workrate. He has more spikes at higher levels than McTominay who is broader in skillset but not particularly very good at any one thing. You can't send him out to a job, where Fred is custom made to do just that.

Maybe give McTominay a year or two more of development and his rounded game will trump Fred's more specialist one - it would be a surprise to me if Fred doesn't gobble up the majority of PT between the two if we manage to get in a superior midfielder or two.

Ideally neither should be starting week in week out tbh

I hope we stay on our upward trajectory so we can sell Fred soon. Never good enough for us tbh.

Keep McT as a backup. His box to box dribbling and driving can be very useful.

Fred is too erratic and clearly will always be that way.

Surely we dont need outgoings to get someone on loan?

If thats true we are fecked cause our club. cant sell players.

What's got a giggle out of me here is that's our best starting pair by miles as they at least complement each others' weaknesses.

It would be a hell of an upgrade if both of them were bench options by the end of this window!

What type of midfielder is Saul? If we are after a defensive mid then I’d take a look at bissouma from Brighton, I think he’d be like our Kante. It’s not hard for us to get an upgrade on matic and Fred though is it, as long as they can pass then it’s already an upgrade.

We still need to register players though. What’s the point paying players’ wages if they are unregistered. If we have outgoings then we will have room for Saul to be registered in the squad. That’s probably what it meant.

Then we may as well renew Lingard and loan him out again just to get a Midfielder.

Yeah looks like he’s Chelsea bound. Not fussed at all about this. Now we are left with Camavinga and Neves? If we pull out of the Saul deal, perhaps we have receive some positive encouragement from either one of the two

fecking hell. I hate balancing the conflicts in my brain of.....

Just fecking bid already and get it done.
Or.... Transfers are complicated and it's not just Football Manager clicks of a button.

Wanted Camavinga first, but if this kid signs he'll certainly do the job.

Camavinga looks like he'll move to PSG or wait for Madrid next summer.

Probably still time to do a deal for Neves, but that's surely contingent on getting rid of one/both of Lingard/VdB. Hopefully West Ham stump up the cash for the former.

Chelsea stockpiling players again, they will sign at least 2 more players before the window shuts, were as we took the whole of summer to sign 2 players

You only need to look at our accounts to see that a 100m pound net spend is sort of our limit financially. I am even surprised we spent that much this summer.
Believe the deals we’ve done are structured so we’ve spent next to nothing so far this season. If I remember correctly I don’t think we’ve even spent over 30mil so far.

For me, Niguez is a Champions League level player, I think he is quality, easily head and shoulders above McFred and Matic.
I don't know about his form in recent months, but that wouldn't concern me too much, form is temporary blah blah blah...
To land Sancho, Varane and Niguez in one transfer window, even I would have to begrudgingly take my hat off to that.
But how come Atlético are so desperate to get rid of him?

I haven't watched him that much, but isn't he quite similar to Ander Herrera? Playing style and playing level wise.

Is there a way to filter all the posts that mention the word DM in them :wenger:

Anyway, we ideally want two, slightly better copies of McTominay. All action, physical, can press high up and recover when the press is beaten, can carry the ball under pressure and lay it off to one of the attackers.

I feel like it should be pretty easy to find this type of midfielder without going for the big names, but there really haven't been any concrete links. Someone like Kovacic, Phillips / Dallas, Herrera, Henderson etc.

I still believe Kessie would've done really well here and wish we go in for him. Last year of his contract as well.

You're right mate.well documented that we're paying both transfers over the lengths of the contracts.

Chelsea shows some major ambitions. God i fecking hate the Glazers

We are 5/2 with sky bet to get Saul, 8/1 to get Camavinga and 4/1 to get Neves, so in conclusion another 12 months or Fred, Matic and Mctomminy while Donny watches on.

Desperate?
Are they actually "desperate" or just prepared to move along a high earner when they have an able replacement...?
There's a novel idea, Manchester United could learn a valuable lesson there....

The thing with Ruben Neves is that Tottenham are trying hard to sign Adama, right? Will Wolves sell two of their best players with mere days left in the window?

That‘s probably why you’re after Saul now. And you guys need him more than we do so I can see the lure of a much bigger role swaying this your way.

"Major ambitions" because what they're spunking money on players that 99% of this forum were calling shite and past it and a HUGE risk earlier on today. The second he looks like to be moving to Chelsea, this place gets the right hump and bitches and moans that this club doesn't do enough.

Lord almighty give me strength.

Wolves will sell anyone for the right price and bring in a replacement from the Portuguese league in two days.

The Saul stuff reeks of his agent shopping him around to every prospective club in England. It won’t even surprise me if he ends up at Arsenal, Tottenham or Everton in the end.

Which poll is that figure from?

To be fair to him you do have to admire the way Abramovic runs Chelsea. We as a club are still trying to close the gap to them and City, yet they are about to outspend us (yet again) despite the fact that they are the champions of Europe. The frustration from our side is we have never been this close post Fergie to a real title challenge. Yet, we're probably going to have to wait till next season. Then next season Chelsea and City will spend 150+ again and we're chasing again.

He's seemingly good enough for a champions league winning manager at Chelsea, but not good enough for the majority on Redcafe....

Do you think he’ll be part of Chelsea’s first 11? Cause what we want/need is a player that improves our first 11. He’s been pretty underwhelming for the past couple seasons

Prefer Camavinga and Bussouka. Niguez is on the decline and is limited. A Spanish Neves. That's why Atleti want rid. Don't think he improves us.

What are you talking about? Chelsea bought really good last summer and won the CL. This summer they are buying great again and are favorist for PL. Glazers will never show this kind of ambition. We tend to plug leaks slowly and never ever get a complete team.
