Ryder Cup: Hazeltine Sept 30th- Oct 2nd: USA vs. Europe&GB

Rose should be taking care of a player like Fowler. He hasn't holed a thing all day.

Yup. Then it would have gone exactly like predicted. Europe tie it or take a brief lead and then comes the spanking at the backend.

Can´t believe how bad Rose putted. Really wasn´t his week. :(

Even surpassed Reed/Rory who tailed off in the end. Garcia/Mickelson I mean.

Man Sullivan had so many chances to crawl back into this.

Willett is the only player that got hammered from the Euros. Feel bad for what his brother did to him.

Bloody hell, Moore pulls out an eagle against Lee.

Anybody saying that golf has to be part of the Olympics can suck it. I'd imagine none of the fellows out there today would swap winning their singles for a gold medal.

Mickelson 10 birdies- been amazing today. Brilliant from Garcia too.

Fecking hell. Bow down to Mickelson/Garcia. We need to find the top six Euros some friends for Paris. :(

100% should follow boxings example and have it as an ametuer contest

So Westwood either wins his match or eats the loss. LOL Kaymer turns it around.

Great recovery by Kaymer, not that it's going to amount to much for the team though.

One thing you can always count on. Dustin to choke.

yep, way better that way

It's different with boxing though. Many amateur boxers use the Olympics to gain a profile so they can get decent fights and make decent money once they turn pro. Golfers are looking at Q school, secondary tours and invites to try and make their card. Once they've done that, it doesn't matter if no one has heard of them, if they play well enough, they make money and keep their card. Young golfers would be looking at all those avenues to getting their tour cards before going to the Olympics.

Sad end to Westwood's Ryder cup career unless one of his mates decides to pick him again

I wouldn't mind if we completely stayed away from the Olympics. It seems to me the IOC has way more to gain than golf.

Some positives to look at though for Europe. The form of Stenson and Mcilroy up until today has been great. We just didn't have the strength in depth this time round.

Pieters has been my pick of the bunch from Europe though, he's performed consistently throughout and 4 points out of 5 is amazing for a Rookie debut, certainly didn't look like the occasion fazed him at all.

Got played off the course today. Needed to play better up top to gain momentum..but usa buried so many puts. So hard to keep going when they banging in 20/30 yarders.

That Rory match was the key really, Europe desperately needed the momentum from that.
I'm not sure it would have made much difference, the second half of the European line-up never looked strong enough. Just frustrating that Casey and Knox not qualifying left the side with decent but no more European Tour players playing against much higher quality opposition. It also meant Europe's main men had to play 5 rounds as there was no depth (although the players Clarke paired with them was at time questionable).

Yup the 4 balls yesterday could have been different if he made better choices but overall USA just far too strong this time

Well played, greater short game made the difference. Keep the Cup nice and shiny for it's return home in 2 years.

How long have Johnson and Fitzpatrick been on 15? I bet they ignored them for the drama. Conspiracy theory says that was where the Ryder Cup really ended. :D

Davis Love getting the shades back on quick after Bubba's blubbing.
