Ryan Sessegnon

Not gonna write him off because he's barely 17, but I think it would be a huge risk to drop £25-30m on him at the moment. I wasn't that impressed by him technically last year and a lot of his play was very scrappy (as were most of his goals).

I think perfect scenario would be if Fulham get promoted and he has a strong debut season in the Prem to look at him then, similar to the Shaw situation when he was at Southampton. Price will likely be higher but you're getting a much more proven and accomplished player who's actually been tested at the highest level, especially defensively.

We should purchase him and loan him back immediately

I disagree old friend.

We currently have 2 players who can play on the LW. Rashford and Martial. Both are inside forwards who offer little to no protection to LW. Sessegnon does provide that. Also Shaw is a bit unlucky with injuries and Darmian/Blind are hardly great in attacking. I think Sessegnon has the right characteristics to get enough games even in the present side.

How is he compared to a 20 year old Kieran Tierney?

Tierney would likely be a bit cheaper coming from the Scottish league.

It'll be interesting to see Tierney against PSG and Bayern this season.

No idea about Sessegnon but I'm convinced Tierney is a top level player. Would love him here.

He has the passion and attitude that Luke Shaw just doesn't:

Any news on this happening Chief?

I think it would be an excellent signing
The only news is we are interested and they are reluctant to sell. But IMO like with Monaco and Martial they can be convinced. And given what we've seen of his talent over the last year and the under age international tournaments. We really shouldn't be missing out on a player like him.

I'd happily take that too. I just desire for us to have such a versatille and super talented player as an option for our problem left side. Especially given he can play left wing back and winger with equal aplomb.:D

He looks like a bigger talent than Shaw was imo. I really think this kid could be very special.

Depends if you’re talking as a LB or an AML. Surely Sessegnon will end up as an attacking player where as Shaw is a defensive LB. Crazy thing about Sess is he doen’t turn 18 until then end of the season.

Has all the makings of a top LB or LM, whichever way he needs to be moulded.

This could be a Dele Alli-type signing. Hope we're in the race this time.

Lets not forget that Shaw was the best left back in the premier league at 18 (one of the few PFA nominations I agreed with). I think people forget how talented he actually is/was. He was exceptional going forward. But as with many of our top youngsters their head seems to turn to jelly when they sign a big contract, as happened with Januzaj.

Looks a top, top prospect, papers thought we were sniffing around in the summer, I hope we take a good look again.

Do we really need another AML?

He wouldn't play there if he was at United.

I'd have Tierney ahead of him, but we have the money that we could easily buy both and rotate. Get rid of our other left back options and use them.

The sort of player Fergie would go in all for. I really hope we push for him, he seems to be a great talent

He wouldn't play though.

Mourinho's hardly going to through him in ahead of Blind or a fit again Rojo is he? If it was away to Man. City Darmain would probably get the nod let's not forget.

We've seen it all before, young english players who think they can conquer the world and just bench warm for years on end.

The sensible path to his career will be to play out this season at Fulham (as he starts every week) then go to somewhere like Watford, Leicester or Southampton (if they sell Betrand) for 15-20m, play well there for two years, get England caps then he will be ready to join a top 4 club.

Remember Bale joined Spurs in August 2007 and only really started doing anything there in March 2010. Gap of two and a half years so plenty of time for Sessegnon.

He will go for significantly more than 15-20m. I do agree though, he should be aiming for a Europa club rather than a CL club.

Do any of you guys bother to read the rules? It says only to bump a transfer thread in case of a transfer update.
