Not really arsed about this at all. I think people are getting pissed off because we’re so desperate for a midfield signing and are now forced to watch our biggest rivals potentially making another one than being annoyed at the actual quality of the midfielder they’re bringing in.

I will be totally pissed off if they end up getting this over line and we don't sign a midfielder

Would be nice to have but not the midfielder we need. Would be another body alongside the likes of Mount, Bruno and Eriksen. Amrabat is the only link that fills an obvious hole.

A straight swap for McTominay would be great, but somehow McTominay is worth more.

If we'd have got rid of Fred, VDB and Mctominay like we should have, that would have left us room for Mount, Amrabat and Gravenberch. 3 in, 3 out.

It all depends on his mentality. If he’s a bad apple and lacks work ethic then don’t care about us missing out / Liverpool signing him. On the other hand if he’s motivated and maturing, then he’d be great for any team - us probably more so than Liverpool - as he’s got the natural talent and we could do with a high quality ball carrier.

From that video postedd here, he seemed a bit like Pogba in style, with less strength- not what we need, and potentially a big liability.

You feel for ETH? The hell are you talking about? He has spent over £400m and has been backed in the market. If it’s fails it’s on him especially after a mediocre summer window yet somehow we’ve spent in excess of £175m.
Yeah its ETH fault then, you convinced me.
Need ETH out flags this week. Definitely his problem that 10 years of failure.
Time to move on that Brighton ex manager is free , maybe Middleborough will let us have theirs back.
Maybe even better idea give the manager 100m tops a year ,whether its 5 players or one player, then we fans can't moan and moan and moan how much the manager spent.

No one is calling for his head but he has been backed 2 summers in a row. And he chose how to spend this £400m. If he wasn’t backed and if he only spent £100-150m then by all means it’s not his fault. He asked for these players and the club got them for him. Do you still see a playing style? We win at home against weak teams and eke out a win maybe against big teams. But away from home we are still dire.

Big LFC accounts reporting it’s now a done deal. Wow.

Should have got him & Amrabat, will be absolutely fuming if we don't get Sofyan before tomorrow night after this but not surprised

Great fee for Bayern considering they barely used him.

He is still very young. Just cause he didn’t make it at Bayern doesn’t mean he can’t make it at Pool. They overpaid sure but if he recaptures his Ajax form then it’d worth it for them.

Well, losing a target to Liverpool for the third time in recent windows certainly sucks.

I don't know he was a target, it's possible, but we didn't really -as far as we know- really made serious advances yet. Considering how close we are to the end of the window, we weren't going to, and obviously Amrabat name was higher on the list.

Not remotely convinced we were interested. I certainly don't think it is losing a target when we never even made a bid and at that price I am quite happy he has gone there as he does not fit an obvious need and struggled in a weaker league. Might well look back on this as a bullet dodged.

Mac Allister, Szobzolai, Gravenberch, Endo is a good youthful midfield. Maybe lacking defensively but they can win the ball high up with pressing. This after they went in for Caicedo and Lavia too. But FSG are terrible apparently.

Enough to completely overrun us when we face them.

But, he wasn't, and we didn't. We've only shown interest in those players according to the tabloids. We didn't actually bid for any of them.

The japanese dude is 30

Mount and Bruno can run for days.
Yeah but they're way more physical. Amrabat can help with that I guess but the PL is becoming a league for young legs in midfield.

How many of the signing by big clubs are players 24 and under at CM?

We need more bodies in midfield and others are signing midfielders whilst we aren’t. This lad was once one of the most youngsters in football and Liverpool are signing him for a decent fee. All whilst we haggle over a couple of million for a guy who has only really come to the attention of most in the last few months.

We didn't have 40m clearly.

They really managed to flip him for more than double what they paid Ajax a year ago when he's only been a benchwarmer his whole time there...  :wenger: :wenger:

How do these clubs do it?? Must be nice :(:(

I suppose they need cover for the midfield but I’m not sure in that one.
Could be great if it works out but does he work hard enough for a Klopp side?

He worked hard at Ajax, but didn't really get a chance to get a run of games in Bayern, which was weird. It's not like Bayern had amazing time and blew everyone away.
