Ruud van Nistelrooy | Leicester Manager

What are your main gripes with him?
Keep playing Ward for one. He also left Facundo on the bench for this game.

We are absolutely terrible and he's just too inexperienced for this kind of job.

I thought Ward was playing because of injury..yikes. I quite liked your #1.

I want him to do well, but it was a poor appointment by Leicester. Why would you hire someone so inexperienced when you're fighting relegation?

Doubt he gets the job at all if it wasn't for those two wins he had over them.

Iversen is avalailable and I don't understand why Ayew is on the pitch. Buonanotte has been left on the bench. He got his team selection all wrong today.

We shouldn't be down 3-0 to Wolves after one half.

He'll probably be gone by February. First 2 games were good results but already bad in terms of conceding too many chances. Now bad results are following it and it looks worse.

Massive massive massive mistake picking Danny Ward, with Hermansen out we had 5 keepers to pick from including u21s and pick the worst 1

Giving Maresca the job was a gamble, he was even less experienced and it worked out well for them…This may work as well.

I have to admit that even with my Welsh bias in full effect I cannot defend Danny Ward, he is a truly awful Keeper and would be out of his depth playing for Cefn Newi Druids. It is a very bad sign that Ruud can’t see this but presumably he will learn from todays performance and select Iversen for the next game.

Nah, can take that risk when they had the best team in the championship. Where this obviously isn’t the case in the prem, so they needed a manager who can get more out of the players.

our Number 2 keeper has been out injured until literally a week ago and only played 1 game for the U21s, they deemed that he wasn't fit enough to play, Ward was the sub keeper so when Hermansen went off he had to play at Newcastle, the issue is, Ward, whilst he doesn't make many rickets just doesn't make many saves so it doesn't take much to beat him, 4th choice is Daniel Iversen, now he makes a lot of saves but the next time he kicks the ball and it stays in play will be the first time, he's an old school keeper.

Hermansen is so far ahead of all of them Ruud wouldn't have given it much thought, but he really should have spent some time watching them this week, Stolarczyk was doing 3rd choice duty pre match so I would have gone with him but if he genuinely wasn't fit it had to be Iversen.

We should terminate Ward's contract tonight, it would cost the same as keeping him all season anyway as it expires in the summer, he's been done here for years but our dumb feck of a DOF gave him a huge contract so we couldn't shift him

Next one at Anfield... It'll get ugly for Ruud :(
I think Hermansen will be back for that he was pretty close to making it today, if not he has to go with Stolarczyk, closest we have to Mads, even though he's some way off

I swear Ward was the problem a couple of seasons ago and Rodgers kept playing him

Looking at Danny Ward's wiki and it's crazy how little experience he actually has. 31 years old and he's only played three full seasons of football.

Lots of attention on Danny Ward who is terrible but their first two choices were injured.

However I can't believe for a huge game like Wolves at home he left Buonanotte on the bench. Can anyone explain that as Cooper didn't always start him either yet whenever I've seen Leicester he's been their brightest spark.

Not sure what's going on with their team selections. Thought RVN would be far more attacking minded but he seems to have adopted Cooper's mantra of sticking as many defensive players in the line up as possible and then wondering why Leicester start with a defensive mindset and don't get going until the second half.

he improved things, he should be playing alongside Okoli to add some pace and power back there
Do you have the personnel to play 3-5-2? You’re way too open and if continue to play like this you can’t count on GD to save you down the road if it comes to that.

not really, the best option for the RWB role would be either Fatawu, injured for the season or McAteer, who I think is injured as he wasn't involved at all vs Wolves, we need Ricardo back to drop Justin (who would be the only option for RWB right now), or a new signing which ever comes first. We culd recall Brandon Cover from loan but he's only been playing at League 2 level so would be a big ask but he has been playing RWB and doing very well for Port Vale.

Another winger at is needed also, if we can shift the likes of Daka or Faes then a like for like for them would also help

Not sure if I posted this here, but did on X. Never should've taken the job imo, Leicesters squad is way too bad and he will just get the blame and kinda ruin his reputation imo.

Makes all the eejits saying it was a mistake to hire Amorim just because Ruud won some piss easy fixtures as manager seem pretty stupid.

Personally I’m delighted that his stint was short and sweet. He’s a long way short of taking a job like ours but we never got to see him struggle.

Not looking good.

He might not even make it to the FA Cup game.
I look at the schedule and you might be right. Their upcoming games are: Fulham (H), Spurs (A), Everton (A) and then the Fa Cup game. He has to get a result vs Fulham because I think they'll lose heavily at Spurs and then there's game at Goodison Park which is basically relegation battle and they can't afford to lose there.

Could they hire Dyche if Ruud is to be sacked? Not sure anyone is saving Leicester but there aren't many options either way.

We had chances at 0-0, we are playing better but it's not falling for us, take 1 of those early chances I think we cruise to a comfortable win

Not been great, has it?

Last 9 games before Ruud - 2W, 1D, 6L
First 9 games after Ruud - 2W, 1D, 6L
Almost as if this is their level and they might look to stick with the manager despite heading towards relegation, because the squad isn't cut out for this.

Agreed. If we'd hired him permanently it'd have turned sour pretty quickly.

Im really suprised to see people having a pop at Ruud over his management of Leicester already, he has inherited a terrible squad and hasnt been allowed to spend any money so what is he supposed to there?

Echoes of Ole when he took the Cardiff job.

I hope they stick with him when they very likely go down. That squad was never cut out for this level and I'd love to see him bounce straight back up.

Just had a look at their squad in depth on Fpl and feck me yea it’s very very bad. The absolute fecking state of those cb and cm options, my word. And how are they still playing 38 year old Vardy every game. Mad how a club who recruited so well for years are getting it so badly wrong. Why did they buy Oliver Skipp also? Was that a dare or something?

I get Ruud taking the job. But yeah you’d hope his reputation doesn’t take too much damage.
