Unbeaten!

It really makes you wonder what he could achieve if given until the end of the season to prove himself. Still, it's time to look forward to a new era under Amorim.

Huge credit to Ruud for his efforts!

Did his reputation no damage at all with his interim stint. Wish him all the best. Would be nice to retain him somewhere at the club.

Thanks Ruud for bringing the vibes back up after a good 18 months of darkness.

Hope he can catch on somewhere, think he'll be good given the right opportunity

Hasn't reinvented the wheel, just set them up in a sensible, compact shape that gives the defensive players manageable spaces to cover. I would be fascinated to hear some of the internal discussions over the midfield set up under Ten Hag, it must have been bizaare for those guys to play a shape that had no chance.

Still tons of work to do with the attacking group, but a bit of a back to basics reset under RVN, a bit of confidence hopefully gained.

Thank you Ruud for at least partially giving us back the hope that this team is not lost and that they can score! 3W and 1D in a disaster ten Hag left is superb achievement.
I think he should go and take full coach job instead of staying here and wish him luck in doing it good. Maybe our paths will cross again.

United legend. He's gone a great job with the games that he's managed.

Best of luck to him, whatever happens next. He's got a good management career ahead of him, imo.

Who knew that playing 2 midfielders while can defend will make the team less vulnerable.

Massive respect to Ruud for coming in and steadying the ship. Making smart decisions in terms of rotation and leaving Amorim with a very attractive situation to come in to.

If only we'd have appointed him earlier.

We really got to ask ourselves why almost all players and managers follow inverted J curve after joining. Players/managers come in, improvement is seen, confidence improves and then fall happens. Carrick and RvN didn't stay long enough to experience a downfall after initial clearly evident improvement in team moral and results.

He’s had an excellent little spell as interim, remains undefeated with 3 wins and a draw. He’s boosted morale and the teams now got a bit of momentum going, that’s a much better situation for Amorim to walk into. Couldn’t have done much more really, it like to see him stay on but ultimately it’s Amorims decision whether he wants him there or not.

If there's one thing he did, he showed what a terrible job ten Hag was doing. He actually got us out of negative goal difference, and got us a win in Europe. Those two things were big asks under the previous manager.

Done about as well as anyone could've hoped. Pleased for him. Hope he stays as he comes across as a really positive influence

Thank you Ruud for giving us hope and hope you succeed in your future endeavours.

Great job Ruud, only further cemented himself as a United legend.

I hope he’s kept on in a meaningful role but if not he has a great future in management ahead of him and hope to see him back as our permanent manager one day.

Should've done made the change earlier. Anyone would have done better than EtH, but Ruud roundly exceeded expectations even if he did have a favourable run of games

Pleased for Ruud. Gets to leave with his head held high through the front door after some good results. Give me his flowers, a good payoff and some nice tributes.

Sorry, but we’re playing better football than at any time other than when ETH was here pre-November of his first campaign.

Felt a way on how he left as he was one of my favourite players at the time but he's now more than redeemed himself. Sounds like he's matured loads and he's a smart man manager and coach. Wouldn't mind him back after the Amorim era...

Off to see about a Ruud appreciation thread and a statue outside OT

Legend.
I don't think he can stay on, but he's earned an even higher status here with this little spell. Looks every inch the manager, very impressed.

Delighted he signed off on a high.

Also very damning of ETH, Ruud hardly reinvented the wheel, just got us going back to basics which surprise surprise, yielded results. No idea wtf Ten Haram was trying to do but good riddance to him.

I love Ruud with all my heart. Hope he would be retained in some capacity, but if not, such a lovely farewell to him.

He joins the elite rank of United manager with zero losses: Michael Carrick and Ruud van Nistelrooy

Is there any news of his involvement with United when Amorim arrives? Keeping him for a year would be smart move. He knows United in and out and can help him navigate his initial months.

Anyway Ruud has done what was asked of him.

Did more than he was asked to do. I hope he stays as a part of Amorim's team. I think he has more to give here. But if he decides to manage again, more power to him and all the best.

Thanks, legend!

Calmness and passion, a great mixture. Not quite at the level we need yet but maybe in the future when he’s more proven. Thanks Ruud, I hope he stays on.

Thank you Ruud. Very good performance to leave with.

Would love him to stay for another few months at least until he gets a head coaching role that he definitely deserves.

Loved the subs today. Dalot and Rashford started the second half terribly and he hooked them within ten minutes.
