Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

And west still dithering on providing real weapons?? Most modern battle tanks, aircrafts, and long-range systems and rockets should be provided ASAP. Absolutely disgraceful stuff.

I think it was retired General Petraeus that said the reason they're not getting M1 tanks is because they don't have the infrastructure to repair them. They'd have to fly the tanks to Poland to repair them, it's impractical. Not to mention the training.

I imagine the same problem exists with aircrafts.

Israel could share their missle shield technology, though I imagine similar issues would exist there too.

The good news is the Ukrainians acquired more Russian equipment, which they already know how to use, in Kharkiv than they have from the allies in the entire war. Stopping the west from supplying weapons has lost some significance, if only in the short term.

We have been hearing this bs for ages, the Ukrainians would have already been operating it now and built the infrastructure if they would been delivered sooner.

What's the situation regarding Kherson offensive?

As for the attacks, pure state terorism. Utter scum.

And a sign of weakness. They're trying to portray themselves as strong all the while raining rockets on Ukrainian cities cause their 'special army operation' is failing big time. It reminds me of Goring changing tactics during the Battle of Britain when he decided to carpet bomb English cities cause he ran into a firm English resistance in the air.

If that's true they should have hit their targets by now. Are there any reports of explosions? If not either this tweet isn't true or they have all been intercepted
Hearing on the news that the wave of attacks included drones.

Imo nuclear weapons should be on the table now to be delivered to Ukraine. Enough is enough.
Nukes would hardly solve anything. A much better military support would though. It's a disgrace that we pretty much solely rely on the US while some of our European "superpowers" are doing feck all.

The chance of Moscow and St. Petersburg being destroyed would be enough of the deterrent alone.

If I was casting director for a film and they told me 'we got this actor to play the bad terrorist general' I'd say to them that he looks too much the part; if they couldn't get someone who could play it more subtle. He radiates nastiness.

Getting to the point where the West has to have a firmer stance on the situation. Russia is being allowed to get away with so much.

Personally I'm getting George Doors Vibes ... recon he's got a pink onesie underneath

Will anything happen now that Russia is all but a terrorist state in name?
It's not like they've done something drastically different to what they've done previously. The cynicism of shelling Ukrainian cities as a direct response for blowing up a bridge (although to be fair 4 people did die) stands out but they have been doing it for many months.

Ukraine will have been preparing the Belarus border for months. If they do get involved in the war they'll be walking into a massacre. Surely given the situation in Ukraine right now with Russians having huge losses the Belarus military must be nervous to get involved? Is Lukashenko in a strong position?

You are a bit crazy aren't you
Nah, I’m just tired seeing Russia get away with everything basically. I’m not suggesting attacking Russia or anything though. It’s not meant to be used as it would be a deterrence from Russia acting stupid. They have given up their nukes by the way as part of the agreement that they would be protected.

No - but he's in n even worse situation if he goes against Russia

Yes likely walking into a huge bear trap but it will still divert resource away from the push south so in that context even a massing of troops on the border who then stand down would help in that context

He's been evading direct involvement by the Belarus military since February but even his near-magical ability to do feck all while appearing to be supportive of Putin has its limits, especially since he can't keep balancing between Russia & the West like he did previously. Putin is in a zugzwang so he may force Lukashenko to move... but we'll only know for sure when it happens.

Wonder whats the situation like with UAF in the north.

Doubt they are worried about Belarus in the slightest. It occupies some units but that’s it. If Belarus invades however, they won’t be needed there for long.

Boggles the mind they have all these cruise missiles available and they are not using them against air defence, artillery positions, supplies and logistics routes, etc. Not used one iota to help their struggling front line troops.

Absolutely bonkers.

Imagine being a Belarus soldier on the border or a newly mobilized Russian soldier at the moment.

The Ukrainians knew Russia would retaliate like this. As long as Ukraine continues to focus on the battlefield and Russia on war crimes, Ukraine is winning the war.

Now is the time to really step up Ukrainian support and give them everything they need to really turn the tide against the invaders.
