Rugby Union Discussion - Six Nations Time

Great game, could have gone either way and I’ve never seen so many crucial handling errors from a top team.
France’s last try though. Two very obvious forward passes and yet no review?
I’ve been wanking on about how rugby has got VAR right and then that is allowed. Maybe it’s not so great after all……

One of their tries last week was a forward pass from Dupont as well.

Fair play to England. Really didn’t know if they had that performance in them for 80 minutes. France will be disappointed by their handling errors but English defence again played a part. Huge opportunity for both teams tomorrow now. Ireland should fancy themselves if they can build on the second half against England but Scotland really have to be thinking they can do something here.

I had to go on urban dictionary to find the exact definition, but it would appear that one of you, Wilko, or Itoje is a white woman seeking black men to jerk off.
So its exactly as I thought
I’m going to need to urban dictionary it now because that’s not what I was implying

Wilkinson is a class act and always has been. The type of player who was so good that rivals should always hate but they just can’t. Like Carter or Dupont and I imagine BOD for non Irish fans.

Yes BOD was hard to dislike. ROG a bit easier and Sexton considerably easier

He's a gentleman too. Helped my Mum out when she got in a tangle with her luggage at a train station and carried it all on for her.

Even I have doubts about ROG nowadays. fecking LAR are a nightmare. I love Sexton. The Roy Keane of Irish rugby and like Keane even a lot of Irish fans seem to hate him but begrudgingly respect his talent. If he played for Munster I’d dread him but strangely I like POM so I dunno.

I’ve only just realised how close Smith’s conversion was to being charged down. Can you imagine the aftermath if that had happened.

The other crazy thing was that if he’d timed his kick a little better France wouldn’t have had a restart. Imagine if they went up the pitch and scored?!
Yeah definitely. As someone who watches the NFL regularly, where that kind of clock management is a given, I was in shock he didn’t let it run further. Although I’m not sure how easy it is to know the exact time left when you’re on the pitch. I’ve seen examples of the screen clock not tying up with the ref’s watch.

Really? They need to sort that out. Can you imagine the controversy if someone lost a match because of that?!

Because it completely changes the nature of lineouts. The point of the rule is to not penalise accidentally crooked throws which don’t influence the outcome. In that clip a deliberate crooked throw clearly influences the outcomes.
Not sure I agree with that, looked fine to me, also this rule keeps the game flowing quicker.
Perfectly happy with changing the fundamentally flawed nature of lineouts.
There's plenty of other rules that need addressing, this ain't one for me.

Over in the first 20
Nah…..you’re not England
Away games are hard. I think this'll be much closer and I won't be surprised if Scotland win.
Agreed and I think it’s important that a lot of these players have actually won something now (URC). That should give them a bit of a mental boost, most Scottish players literally never win anything. It might give them a bit more grit when the going gets tough

going to be rooting for scotland. that way, england have a chance at the grand slam -1.

Ireland did in the days before the shot clock, against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Took a full two minutes to take a kick and it ended the game.

Yeah I’m in favour of the stop clock, to stop teams taking the piss. But it needs to be clearly visible to the kicker and the clock they see needs to be used as the official time.

On the way to Murrayfield now and atmosphere building up nicely. Just hope for a good game and we keep it at least competitive rather than a one sided blowout. If England can do it then no reason why we can’t either.

I wish Gabby Logan would stop interrupting Ronan O'Gara

there's a legend of the game explaining his point of view let him speak!
