Rugby Union Discussion - Six Nations Time

Like I said yesterday

This image/video is going to have a lot of mileage.

Ireland France is going to be so exciting.

I had previously tipped Ireland due to the fixtures, but I thought they looked vulnerable against England, and France are far superior.

@JPRouve is Danty crocked for the whole tournament?

Depends, as always, on how they travel. This team are much more robust but away fixtures always a different beast in the 6N.

Class.

I didn’t really want to pick a row with you and kidbob but I do think there was plenty of evidence that we might be over the slight staleness we saw in the autumn series. There were enough smart, subtle line breaks and clever tactics in attack to make me feel optimistic.

For example, England obviously didn’t fancy their 9 and 10 in defence so tried to hide them out wide. But we found a to way isolate them and run over them by creating 1v1s with the likes of Lowe, Bundi and Sheehan.

Second half yes, first half no.

So so many passes behind players in that first half.

I’m not sure. There were a bunch of good line breaks in the first half too. Plus we spent most of the half camped in their 22, were everything was more compressed and England were happy to concede penalty after penalty to spoil our attacking play. We definitely found more gaps as they tired in the second half but that’s to be expected. The main thing is that we found those gaps. Having looked unable to when we played New Zealand and Australia in autumn.
