My Welsh mates tell me they are ;)

They are not. In fact before the last IRB ranking update, Italy were 14th, below Georgia and Samoa. There is a pretty big gap between them and the likes of Japan and Fiji.

I’m sure they technically are tier 1, though I agree they are substantially lower than the required standard. Either way, big for Georgia, the big hairy neckless bastards

They aren't not technically or in any other way. No one considers Fiji a tier 1 team in Union and Fiji have been better than Italy for as long as I can remember.

The only thing that Italy have the others don't is that they have the privilidge to be in a yearly tournament with tier 1 teams.

I'm going to be on a fecking flight during this match. I'd say the odds are still really against it happening, but I really hope Ireland can pull it off.

At least you saw the win. I was travelling for that one. Their discipline has been poor though and they could be too fired up. If we keep our heads we could do it.

New Zealand's last 5 matches in Wellington: 1 win, 2 losses, 2 draws. Not exactly a house of pain.

It's 24 years since the All Blacks lost consecutive tests on home soil. The 2nd of those losses 24 years ago came in Wellington against a team wearing green....

Would/might spell the end for Foster if they lose today and with it, the series on home soil.

Surely you'd want New Zealand to edge home so Foster keeps his job for the games against the Boks in August.

This has got to be one of the worst NZ sides I've ever seen, they have literally nothing, no flair, no creativity, constantly losing the physical engagements

Ireland will never get a better chance again of winning a series against NZ

NZ rugby won’t dismiss him anyway. I’ve heard they’re quite the stubborn/non knee-jerk bunch

But yeah, not looking good for the AB’s or Foster at this moment. Being dominated by the Irish. As it type this, that’s number 3 for the Irish. 22-3 before HT. This is getting ugly.

Another beautiful try for Ireland. The biggest and potentially final half time address of Ian Foster's coaching career coming up.

Shocking defence from the All Blacks. Numerous unforced errors, poor discipline and why the feck does Barrett keep kicking. Foster is done.

Ireland are good.
NZ capable of a come back so we need to be as hardworking in the 2nd half

Terrific first half by Ireland but this is easily the worst New Zealand side I've ever seen. They can still come back in this game so Ireland have to keep doing the right things but in the big picture this is a very underwhelming All Blacks team.

All Blacks can't blame the refs this week. Been a long time since I've seen a NZ team carry so little threat.

Ireland are 40 minutes from becoming the 3rd team to win a 3 test series in New Zealand. They would join the 1937 Springboks and 1986 Wallabies.

The 1971 Lions won a 4 test series in New Zealand 2-1 with one test drawn.

Hated last week's red and I don't like this yellow. Common sense has gone out the window.

Comeback is well and truly on now.

Game on @Xaviesta. Now they going and saving Foster’s skin

should be a great finish to the match.

A side point, how was that yellow for head count now, different to the red that AB got last week? I don’t see any difference.

I didn't see last week's game but the commentators said this was a soak tackle and not a dominant tackle. Was last week's more agressive?
