Is it me or the ref missed every single penalties on 3 or 4 consecutive rucks?

Carbery coming on for the last 20 seconds

I was thinking during the week about how Jack Carty is legitimately going to get 90 seconds in this championship. I think it's so insulting. Have your confidence smashed in the world cup, finally fight your way back to form, be arguably the best 10 in Ireland for a season and a half and get 90 seconds.

Great that we've won today, but our world cup is probably fecked again.

England perspective, actually expected to lose today before the game….but thought we were brilliant. Red was a red, no problems with the call…just can’t be a 6ft5/6 bloke and not bend when tackling I’m afraid. With Launchbury back we should see the last of Ewels. Tactically we were good and turned it into a shitfest for 60 minutes which was our only chance of winning. We’re drastically fecked until we can sort out our centres….the difference between us and the top teams are the 12 and 13 partnership. Lots for Eddie to work on. And please stop bringing Youngs on for fecks sake, we sub him on and play worse every fecking time

Maro Itoje was immense. And Courtney Lawes should be the captain permanently, why give it back to Owen Farrell when there are question marks about whether he should even be a starter. Am no fan of England or Eddie Jones but was willing them on today and it was nice to see Twickenham rocking a bit.

Good thread on why England were dominating at scrum-time yesterday

Ireland U20s going for a grand slam the same day as the senior team go for the championship/triple crown, after an impressive win against much bigger/more physical England team.

Check out this for an outrageous finish (from a player who didn’t make the starting XV)

Sweet.

I was more looking at Sinckler on the other side and what he was doing

He isn't doing much, the picture shared below is a bit late and doesn't give you an honest image of how we ended up there, if you look at the first step he is straight. The issue is that on the other side something goes wrong and Ireland are going backwards on their tighthead side, so logically England's scrum goes to the left from that point.

Now what happened on that far side? I can tell you that the elbow isn't supposed to be in that angle, Ireland's tighthead is barely hanging and is being mauled.

Now I haven't really got any in depth knowledge and I thought England were amazing, but the tone of the Irish media seems to be we are naive, the scrum is, our weak link but also that England's dominance was partly to do with poor refereeing of the dark arts which England (justifyably imo) utilised. Is that just journos singing to the home crowd?

Ref royally screwed Italy there. Calls a needless stoppage of play for Biggar being down (and af course he's instantly fine) to give them a scrum in Italy's 22 and the try comes directly from that. Infuriating.

I know nothing about rugger, having hated it at school 50+ years ago. That last Wales try looked fixed though. Italy’s attempts to stop them were absolutely pathetic.

Italy have now collapsed. Well dodgy.

They have and they deserve to win, been dire from Wales, mistake after mistake.

Typically they are collasping here but I hope any calls for them to be replaced in the 6 nations is quelled. Plus their under 20s are very good so hopefully a bigger future coming for them. Wales' performances in this competition have me very worried for them. They are great as spoilers but offensively offer very little. That's not good enough for a team that anyone in the World has feared in the past. Hopefully they can sort it out in the coming years.

Italy tend to be good to very good for 60 minutes but the squad is never enough for them to sustain the full game.
