England look short of confidence and invention. This is bizarre. 40 minutes gone, they still need 4 tries and haven't looked remotely like getting one.

Aye. I can understand trying to win the game first and focus on tries then but not when you look as unlikely to get tries at any point as they currently do.
They're playing France (at home) like you would Italy, as if they'll melt going a penalty or two behind. Daft.

The seeds of this performance feel set in how Italy totally baffled them last year and noone on the pitch could react. Clueless and leaderless, incapable of reacting.
The penalty try was because it would have been a try without the foul. The yellow was for dangerous play. Right call in my opinion.

Im not a rules expert so you are probably right. Just seems like the red card and penalty thing in football.

If you gave a penalty away in football with serious foul play you would concede the penalty and get sent off.

Yes, it's a direct yellow unless you slip from under to above the shoulders. In that particular case you have two yellow card offenses.
