Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

There was enough time to adapt to new system. So either our players are absolutely garbage or our coach have no idea what to do with this situation. We are basically saved from relegation but highly likely out of FA Cup and I can't believe we can do anything in EL (even though I bought a trip to Manchester from mainland Europe and starting to be very worried about what I will see live)

These fecking players sacked Van Gaal and Mourinho too. Never underestimate how influential Lindelof and Shaw are.
Lindelof doesn't seem the type who is influential in his house, let alone any sort of negative in a dressing room!

Just don’t understand Hojlund. I know he’s can’t score a goal but at least press and chase every single ball. How much time does the Fulham back line have to hold the ball? I’d rather see Obi start even if he’s just a kid. Hojlund’s appearance are just not acceptable.

We needed somebody more flexible, not somebody fixed to one formation. United should never have a manager of that ilk, not unless we had immense quality like City or Livepool. I'm not saying Ruben is shite but he's not the guy we needed at this point in time, and we clearly don't have the finances to make this work even if his methods are the way to go.

I've said it since INEOS sacked Ashworth and the contentions around the cuts started happening. Amorim is not a manager you hire with financial restrictions in the market and a sell-to-buy policy given the demands of his system. He needs resources to succeed and even then it's no guarantee given his managerial inexperience at top level football.

Tuchel should have been the go ahead with PSR, unbalanced squad and a potentially less significant summer window. Berrada has diminished his reputation with this decision.

We looked competent when Ruud had us set up in his little interim run because he played to the strengths of the players.
And that's Ruud, who's looking out of his depth at Leicester.
We looked competent because we were playing against Leicester, twice. Almost like the quality of players make the difference.

Remember when he came and said you’ll see a clear style on the pitch… ye sure. They can’t string 2 passes together

Amorim is like a football manager player. Downloads a tactic so knows no better and expects it to work with any team he manages.

Firstly, why do you think he even had a choice on who was loaned out? Ineos already scared other managers away by not giving veto power over transfers.

And even if Amorim was happy to loan Antony, he was obviously expecting to get someone else in. We were trying to sort an incoming loan deal until the last minute of the window.

Rashford made his own position in the team untenable.
Hojlund’s position in the team is tenable? He’s one of the worst players I’ve seen on the team in the last 20 years.

I'm at the point where I can't hear anyone tell me the 5 at the back thing doesn't inhibit us

The club have fecked up yet again. We’re not in a position to cater to this system both with the players we have and the lack of money it seems crazy that we made him come mid season under these circumstances

Yep let’s sack another manager and watch the same players who will be on the their 4th full time manager do the exact same things while we berate the players the new manager brought in.

Nonsense 7/11 of the team is compiled from newer players purchased within the last season or two.

Also enlist the managers since Mourinho / LVG the majority of them are low quality. Amorim, ETH, Ragnick and Solskjaer. Hardly the mount rushmore of coaches.

I'm at the point where I can't hear anyone tell me the 5 at the back thing doesn't inhibit us
It’s so obviously a terrible formation for us, a matter of time before the stubborn fans accept it. Amorim will probably be the last one to do so.

What does Hojlund being hot garbage have to do with Rashford publicly asking to leave?
If you don’t have reinforcements when a potentially important attacking player is asking to leave, you try to convince them to keep them. Do you remember what fergie did with Rooney?

Goal! Hopefully we scrape past these lot.

However, I struggle to see how this formation would ever be successful.

What position would Salah play in this formation? Saka?

Even if we have two world class wingbacks I don’t know if I’ll take that over two world class attacking wing forwards.

We might turn this around but the dye is cast for me. I was willing to give him so much slack considering the disaster we are, but this is the final straw. I'm sure when he has the players at his disposal this isn't his level, but he's not the one to get us out of this mess, that much is clear. Blame squarely with INEOS and the Glazers, Ashworth must be feeling pretty smug right now.

Nevermind

I don't think the point is mute, players are bailing the manager out with individual goals which are independent of the teams performance.

Free kick and a corner last week. A class finish from Bruno again. It's not sustainable the manager isn't good enough.

Can see why he was only Sporting Lisbon manager and just West Ham seriously wanted him so far...
He’s still very young and never had the chance to move up. Liverpool was interested as was city but pep was never leaving yet and Liverpool didn’t like his system.

I remember a time under LVG where we were playing some of the most boring football I’ve ever watched at Utd but we won about 8 games 1-0 in row. Now we play incredibly boring/dire football that leaves gaps all over the field because we’re not on the front foot. Opponents don’t even have to move to find themselves in space. I think we could buy 6 new players and this shite still would t work in the premier league. If we go and spend another £200M on a formation no other manager is going to play then we deserve everything we get.
At this point, his stubbornness is making him look bad in my opinion.
I’ll admit I was excited when he arrived as I thought something different was what we needed but he has no plan b for when it doesn’t work (which is 90% of the time).
We’re a team with 7 defensive players that concedes first almost every game and then wonder why we score so few.

LVG esque. But LVG was better. We atleast try to keep the ball during his reign. Now teams like Fulham come to OT and dominate the game, trying to win while we defend in low block and try to counter.

Waiting for the inevitable sack.

We are headed nowhere. This is horrible to watch.

De Ligt stepping out has been great. That’s what you want from a CB in a 3.

I genuinely believe our only way out of this mess is putting faith in our youngsters. I don't mean one or 2, try and get 4 or 5 in starting going into the new season. Our starting 11 is so poor
