Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

I dont understand why he keeps persisting with 5 at the back when it hasnt worked against forest, newcastle, bournmouth, 80 mins against soton and now brighton. He needs to be pragmatic.

Any half decent team has a good chance of winning when they play us, its so easy for them.

Brighton haven't even got out of third gear either. Player constantly under performing and making mistakes but only some seem to be dropped.

Its not working.

Things need to be changed.

The reality is that the personnel will be the same, so something must give.

I fear he will lose his job if this continues. There is no way the ownership puts up with these types of results for much longer.

I also predicted the same, Amroim has accountability at the end of the day he still needs to meet a minimal expectation with the teams performances but INEOS / Berrada have put themselves and the manager included in this predicament.

It was a foolish decision to hire the manager mid season to contest with a congested fixture schedule with difficult games, knowing the managers system is entirely different to the previous employee. Then given PSR they would have known they can't heavily reinforce with the January window before hiring him, so it's incompetence across every senior executive position at the club.

1 clean sheet in his 15 games so far. 28 goals conceded.

Even a world class attacking line-up will struggle to make up for that and obviously we aren't remotely close to having one.

It's his job to ensure they aren't game raisers.

Shoddy to be content with these type of results. Should have been beaten by Southampton, today- how many times do we need to get pumped at home?
And its also there job to make sure they perform every week. But guess what, that doesn’t happen. They’re just happy to pick up their wages every week without performing.

It’s baffling that Amorim continues to rely on Mazraoui and Dalot as wing-backs, especially when it’s arguably the most critical position in our system from an attacking perspective. I can understand the caution against the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal, but Brighton at home? Come on.

What’s even more frustrating is that this conservative approach doesn’t even make us harder to beat—we still concede chances. If that’s the case, why not utilise attacking players in those roles who can actually make a meaningful impact in the final third? It’s a waste of such an important part of our setup.

The personnel is the same dross Ten Hag put together so it gets similar results. Was always going to be the case until it can be changed.
There's several incidents of managers coming in and getting better results than the previous incumbent, despite using the same players.

Why isn't that the case with United? Bar two performances the team has looked even worse than under EtH, no consistency at all.

Not a fan of a manager who just sticks by one formation. Even the best managers over the years have adapted to what they have got.

We can't just dick around with the ball horizontally and then try and chase a win in the last 15 mins. I said it was unsustainable after the city game and was slaughtered for it.

Ten Hag abandoned his ideals and he was lucky to go on as long as he did. Despite these results Amorim needs to muddle through

Whatever tactics he is employing at home are not working. They have not worked on any of our home games. Why is he persisting with the same ideas?

To be fair we’ve been losing more than winning for a while now.
And it’s been that way since last season, and yet we’re here with that forward line and that keeper. Things aren’t going to change. There’s no silver bullet to fix these things without a massive window.

Embarrassing. Name a manager that would get a tune out of these bunch of game raisers?!

I’d get rid of the players before Amorim. But he needs to make a tactical change as defensively we’re so bad despite playing 5 at the back.

You will lose if you play like this!!! Your squad isn't capable of playing it.

I don't care, it's my system and I will die with it.

There is no other plans, nothing.

The money spent on Onana, Casemiro, Antony and Mount tipped us over the edge. Dross we couldn’t afford at massively inflated prices, Amorim is making mistakes but he’s taken over a huge shit show that won’t be fixed quickly.

In all honesty he probably won’t survive long enough to see it through but until the squad is massively overhauled this is and will remain our level. I fully expected Brighton to beat us at home and we are a lot closer to the worst teams in the league than the best.

It isn't good enough. No real improvements and it's 2 months in. You have to see something in that time and we have nothing bar a couple of game raising performances v Arsenal and Liverpool plus a win against a terrible city side.

If it wasn't for Amad v Southampton we could've got dragged into a relegation scrap.

I mean there's just so much quality lacking throughout the squad, I'm not really sure what he's personally supposed to do.

People can moan about formation or system, but we have so many individual errors (both in defense and attack) every game compounded by our overall lack of athleticism that it's nigh impossible to garner any sort of consistency.

Needs to be much braver either tactically or in team selection. If the wing-backs are playing so deep against instructions then play youth players who even are not ready yet will listen. If he’s really setting his team up this defensively then he has to shoulder the blame for our form.

It's alarm bells for me because they've veered from one system to another, and somehow expect players with spines made of jello and a collection of players from the last few managers varying systems to some how pick it up mid-season with no fresh blood when they're already low on confidence. Either this is their bet and they're willing to ride it come hell or high water or this lot are as hopeless as Woodward and co sniffing around whoever is the fad at the time irrespective of if it makes any bloody sense.

How much slack are we cutting for him? All he has done is change formation to 3421 but is the same shit as before and we recieve more goals than with ETH

I guess we have to wait for next season right? Its only 6 more months of this crap

Proven winner with boring football. Explain how he’s going to win games playing his style at this club when we don’t even have a ST that can score goals and a defence that can keep clean sheets. So again, name 1 manager that will win with this squad?

He was meant to come in and improve us from last season. There isn’t going to be a massive window because we are hamstrung by PSR. He will be working with the majority of these players going forward.

And its also there job to make sure they perform every week. But guess what, that doesn’t happen. They’re just happy to pick up their wages every week without performing.
What do you suggest then? Sell all the players? Not going to happen.

It is also his decision to continue to play his system and when everyone can see it isn't working with the players he has at the moment. Every team is exploiting the back 3/5 no matter who is selected.

He has to adapt. And let's be honest we were lucky to beat City, lucky to overcome Arsenal and lucky to beat Southampton lately. Rangers will exploit us to on Thursday.

Didn't understand a single one of the subs today. Look worse after each one happened.

You simply can't keep playing 3 centre backs while losing at Old Trafford.

If he's adamant on not changing this, the club should just cut their loses and goes for the Bournemouth guy.

Same problem, he plays a style of football completely unsuited to our players.

Until that Bournemouth guy gets half his team with him, these players and the pressure of United will eat him alive and ultimately be sacked in no more than a year.
