Round of 16 | England vs Slovakia | Spain vs Georgia

People love the moan when players gets away with sneaky fouls like that... Now refs give a yellow and people still moan.

No. That's why we don't hear advocates for VAR doing the whole game. Good refs are about more than just knowing the rules.

I want refs who apply the rules consistent and not change the rules based on the moment in game. Honestly i find it a bit ridiculous that a different set of rules should apply because its early in the match.

Not to condone violence of any sort but this ref was already a controversial figure after being assaulted by the president of Turkish side, Ankaragucu.

Our right side would be so much better if we had Reece James available.

Ref on a mission. Surely can't end the match without one Red at least.

England wide open at the back. And honestly not unexpected based on their previous games. Denmark and Slovenia got into good positions in their box with ease, they just lacked quality for the final ball/shot

Slovakia lacks that too but this being KO they're more daring

Isn’t this the ref that got punched in the face by a club president?

Referee is mental. What the actual feck?

There are methods good refs use to marshal the game, showing yellows so early isn't one of them.

100%. Talking to for Guehi and then a massive bollicking for Mainoo would show more authority than flashing two cards.

Slow build up is back. Gareth had a nosebleed after Saka skinned someone earlier.

Ref giving out yellows like there out of fashion. Red card incoming in this game

England resorting to hacking the shit out of Slovakia

Thought Bellingham was suspended then.

Amazed he didn't get booked at all in the group stage given how he was charging around in some of the games.
