Rooney testimonial vs Everton

A good first half by testimonial standards. Zlatan looks mentally sharp, Shaw looks like he might be in for a great season, and the rest haven't done themselves any harm.

Am interested to see Rashford and Mkhitaryan come on.

Both teams seem afraid to lose.

Martial looks like he lacks confidence.

Shaw though

We've moved well but Everton are playing very deep and without Rashford we aren't getting in behind enough, although Martial and Lingard tried to change that as the half went on. Ibra and Shaw have been very good.

The talent in Shaw is just ridiculous. If it wasn't for that no-name shitface that broke his leg he would probably already be established as a top 3 LB in the world.

Need more movement if Ibra is going to drop deep all the time.

Centre backs still worrying, i think we'll buy some experience as per the rumours.

This is a pre season game we needed. Thank the lord the testimonial happened. Good run out.

Not enough players making runs into the box. Too much faffing outside the box, but it's difficult when Everton have a good shape about them and are playing quite negatively on the counter.

Every time Blind makes a mistake we hear how he isnt a CB.
So hilariously true, pretty much all our centre backs are good for a mistake a game even Smalling.

All I know is that Herrera-Carrick-Pogba is going to dominate the EPL. If Herrera is going to be the pest he's turning out to be this game, and with Carrick doing his best Gandalf, Pogba is going to be free to do as he pleases.

This is it, guys. Jose is going to build our greatest ever team.

Herrera and Shaw have been the better of the lot.

Rooney and Ibra won't work well in the long run.

Valencia has been disappointing past the half way mark

Interesting half. Defensively solid apart from Blind header and we look the more threatening side.

Rooney has been ok but is not dynamic or creative enough for a no.10. Mkhitaryan would be much better as our no10.

Another issue is our right wing. Limgard is putting in another 6.5 out of 10 performance. High energy, buzzes around but doesn't have a final product. Simply not a game changer and we would look much better with someone like Mahrez on our right.

Pretty reasonable if not uneventful first half. The players all look decent enough so far but we still need that bit of penetration. Rooney has looked better tonight than the other night in that his simple passes actually come off. He put a nice ball in for Ibra too who looked good. Hopefully we see a better second half!

They cut his interview short. Poor bastard wasn't given a chance to prove himself.

Moyesy looks about 300 years younger.
