Rooney Charged: Faces Two Match Ban for cursing | Appeal lost

This whole thing is just bizarre, I want to laugh but it's just annoying how even more fecking pathetic the media has become.

Yea this is pretty much how I feel. It's unbelievable how sad these people are.

The last thing on Sunday Supplement was, following predictions of the United - Chelsea tie, a final quip of "...by which time, Rooney may have been charged!"

Of course, it'd be the same if it was any other player though...
Yeah, Woolnough really want him banned and took every chance in the program to say something negative about Rooney, while the other three guests didn't think for one minute he should be banned.
I can't stand him anymore, talks so much shite about United every week regarding Fergie, and also about Rooney.

Actually Custis of all people were the one talking most sense today.

If he had kissed the camera the media would have been calling for a ban and arrest due to many under the age of 16 watching and it being inappropriate for him to motion kissing an underage child like that.

He shouldn't have done it and it's not a valid defence to say that players swear every week because he did it straight down the camera lens.

That said, the overreaction is ridiculous.

606 was ridiculous. In all seriousness how the hell is this anything new to anybody. You probably see players saying the word feck about twice a game, every game. Absolute mongaloids.

Glad to see MoTD didn't take the lazy road. Nothing incident.

It was an absolute joke, teachers emailing saying "well i would get sacked if i said these things to my pupils"......well of course you fecking would, your a teacher! Last time i looked rooney was paid to play football and not educate children...geeze, it was infuriating.

Just seen the back page of the mirror, apparently the incident 'wrecked his day'!

Really, I bet he went home last night, match ball in hand, thinking to himself 'I wish I hadn't messed it all up by swearing' and cried himself to sleep. fecking morons.

Just saw that fool from The Mirror on The Sunday Supplement saying that the apology from Rooney wasn't really from him at all but written for him, he based that view on the fact it wasn't badly written, he said the apology to the England fans in the summer wasn't really from Rooney either, what a Twat.

Wears his heart on his sleeve obviously. Doesn't wear his brain anywhere.

Let's be honest. He's not the sharpest tool in the box is he. We see him every day on Jeremy Kyle.

Bless him.

Looked razor sharp in West Hams box with the second goal.

I wonder if anyone has ever completed a hat trick to come back from 2-0 down and not sworn in celebration...

Michael Owen maybe, I just cant picture him screaming "feckING GET IN!!!!"

Top story on SSN, what a joke.

Did anyone notice Reina's reaction when he got the yellow cad, it looks like he says "no fecking way"?

Snow doth come and go, I reckon it'll be mostly bare by Easter.

If you ever need a mate while around town, I'm always up for shootin' the shit with a fellow Junaitiid-fæn. ;)

Yeah, I'll let you know if I'm going for Easter. We'll catch a game at Dublin.

The strange thing is that if he looked a degree away from the camera and swore, as we see players and managers doing all the time, it's fine.

At camera - awful. Just off centre from camera, not worthy of comment.

Remember Dennis Wise screamed 'fecking get in' when he was lifting the FA Cup? Retrospective ban? I know he's retired and all but this can't go unpunished, even if it was a decade or so ago.

I have to say that my initial take was that Rooney was reacting to having a camera intrusively thrust straight into his face in the midst of a group of celebrating Utd players - if the media want to make something of this, perhaps they should follow Rooney's lead and ask 'just what the f**k was the camera-man intending?'

After all, the decorative expletive was clearly applied to the repeated question 'what?'. The last remark invited the git concerned to f-off.

Just finished listening to 606 Robbie Savage what a dick how can he say on that yes I sometimes abused refs, faked injury and went of strike to get his own transfer then say but thats ok swearing at a camera is not.

Yes - apparently, a professional footballer's role model status only applies to the words you direct straight at a camera - not to your overall behaviour as a cheating vicious manipulative c*nt who was capable of being savvy enough to rein it in when needed (loads of yellows, one red, his interpretation).

Of course it was written for him. Damage limitation by the club. No way did those words come from his mouth. I'm sure he thinks he's got nothing to apologise for. He'd be right too.

I blame Carrick, he could have put his hand over Rooney's gob.

newspapers+radio, come on give wayne a break he knows what he did was wrong and he has apologised, spoke 2 him this morning+genuinely sorry...

It's possible Rio is playing PR, but I doubt he'd make that up.

RT @mnewman1982:journalists in "hypocrite". We (west ham) fans were giving Rooney stick, he shut us up with Hat-trick- fair game all round.

Well said by that fan.

I hate when these things happen. All these sanctimonious pricks make me feel sick to my stomach.

Seriously whats next, apologies for crowd chants.
"referee is a wanker" "You fat bastard" "He comes from Serbia, he'll fecking murder ya"

When you watch football you know that its an emotional sport and people are capable of swearing, if you can't deal with that reality don't let your children watch football. In fact don't let them leave the house cos I guarantee you when they go into the real world they will hear the word "feck"

You have to love how Sky sports news manipulate the average view from the street.

It's made easy for them by the fact that the only people who email/text in to SSN are whining gimps.
