I really think it's unfair how the knives are out.

There is a very, very, very good chance he is suffering from mental health issues, on top of frustrations in his professional career.

It's an ill disciplined outburst, let Ten Hag sort it out, he's apologised and hopefully he'll be willing to play a role (off the bench) for the rest of the season.

He lost a kid a few months ago ffs. Let's keep things into perspective.

I probably come in for some stick and I’m not defending what he did last night as he should have celebrated a great victory with his teammates instead of storming off, but the level of hate against him in these forms is shocking. If it wasn’t his goals we would prob be closer to the relegation zone last season, he was the one standout player in a season from hell. For 20years of his career he hasn’t had to press, yet all this nonsense of having to press in his old age as if it’s the only way to play good or win matches.
Our problem for many seasons has been we simply don’t control matches and lack genuine creativity from fullbacks and midfield. More creative chances = more likely to score.
Even this season the supply and creativity hasn’t really been there and forwar players have had to graft hard to create some sort of scoring chance.
Look at city and pool - the amount of chances they create for their forward = goals = matches won.
Ronaldo is suffering from scoring due to lack of service to him from rest of team.
Anyway my input to this topic.
thanks

He’s also coming to terms with the fact he’s not the player he once was. Must be frustrating for him when he doesn’t want to except it. His best bet would be to just go MLS and play a couple years over there.. but the records mean too much.

He can't go to America ...

Where was the apology? I missed it.

The reason was literally nobody wanted to pay his wages. You can keep finding reasons to blame anyone but Ronaldo for this, but eh only reason he didn't move this summer was because he was refusing a pay cut. He wanted the Man United Salary while playing for someone else.
I'm not convinced this is true.

He is being a twat unsurprisingly but finding it hard to stick the boot in too much knowing what he went through just a few months ago. Football probably keeps his mind off things like that. Who knows how much it’s affecting him. Hope there’s an amicable solution

I'm not convinced this is true.

Why would United allow Mendes to shop him around Europe, if they weren't willing to let him go? And why no one actually made an offer that Ronaldo accepted?

Surely if Ronaldo had accepted an offer and the club rejected it, it would have been reported even once?

Maybe its just me but i don't feel strongly about any of this.

Once Martial is fit and if he can stay fit I wouldn't give a single feck if Ronaldo sits in the opposing teams dugout during games.

I don't even want to talk about this cnut but if we ever let him play again, even as a 1' sub we're simply disrespecting ourselves.

Very good decision to axe him from the squad. Hope until he leaves. Better make an example of him, set the standard and totally get rid of that fecking primadona culture.

Tbh as long as he doesn't play I simply don't care about him. But I do hate the camera keep showing his fecking face all the time when I only want to watch the bloody match. Much better now. What a disruptive narcissistic piece of shit.

Can't wait for him to feck off.. annoying distraction.. I wish there was a way to ignore keywords on in real life so I could get on with my life without constantly seeing/reading news about this clown.

It is extremely sad how narcissistic and selfish this guy is. Could have been a leader and a mentor but instead choose to act like a brat. Disgusting. This will cost him eventually in one way or another. It will certainly take him down as a legend of the club.
One day we might have a 10-15-20 year celebration of something and he will not be invited. That will be a big FU to him and that will sting.
The guy doesn’t give a shit about United, and probably never did

He's too proud to say out loud he's sorry, but this is enough for me to know he knows he messed up. Good. We all make mistakes, and he made a pretty big one. I hope he sees this as a way to improve himself like he's done his entire career. I'd rather watch him keep playing in United since I have a love affair both with the club and the player, as long and every party is happy doing so, specially Ten hag, which, by the way, has my huge appreciation for treating Ronaldo like he would treat any other player.

I don't think he believes he's still not the greatest. The ego won't allow him to believe he's not a shadow of his former self. He thinks he has a divine right to play every minute of every game.

People are still using this excuse??? Thought we were done with this excuse in the summer.

That's as close an apology you'll get.

And if Ten Hag has him playing next week, it's evident he apologised to Ten Hag too.
I had some sympathy for him over the summer with he and his partner losing a kid. What I would love to see happen is in a few weeks he shows up scoring goals and being a team player. Will that happen?

Fact remains, no one wanted him in the summer, and his current form won't have changed anyone's mind...if he refuses to be a substitute and still wonts 400k a week, then he is going nowhere!

Compare how he’s acted to how Zlatan is seeing out the final months of his career - mentoring Milan out of the wilderness in a bit part role. He’s a child.

The loss of a kid is nothing to sneer at and it affects some people differently to others. I have some friends who lost a child during pregnancy 10 years ago and they still celebrate the child they nearly had and they still grieve. Not everyone is as tough as you.

this is also very true but somewhere deep deep inside he can probably feel he can’t do the things he used to.

Yeah.. unfortunately I dont think any (top-ish) team is coming in for him at those wages ...
The best hope we would have if we completely freeze him out.. his ego wont let him not play.. he'll probably engineer a move back to Sporting at sensible wages to save face..

Unfortunately, I cant see us freezing him out.. would love it if we did though.. Barca would probably have started a smear campaign to try and force him out.. not being that shit as a club sometimes has its disadvantages.

You believe him acting as a petulant child is cause of him losing his kid 7 months ago?? It has nothing to do with it. Stop trying to justify his cnutish behavior by making up excuses and using a kid's loss at that.

It perpetuates the “circus” that I often see people here complaining about.

Guy had a tantrum and stormed off. Manager said he’ll deal with it. United won convincingly. I don’t think allowing him to monopolise so much of the attention span is conducive of anything good. I do understand it’s discussion worthy, but I kinda just hoped people would ignore his antics - like the manager seemingly does - and let him fade into a smaller talking point until the club is able to part ways.

For transparency, the guy is my favourite player of all time and I hoped he’d buy into being a senior player setting an example and contributing when called upon in a smaller capacity (game time and team focus wise) but he’s seemingly still chasing shadows and personal accolades and apparently not fully aware of his abilities now, so. It is what it is.

you 36 in a karate class?! you tae bo hoe” - Nas

Yeah I agree it would be better for everyone if his antics were ignored. But he's the most famous footballer in the world, maybe the most famous footballer ever. We both know that is never going to happen, especially when he mugs off the team like he did.

Saying "13 pages is crazy" is implying it's us fans who are at fault here. We're not.

And ETH is not ignoring his antics, he just isn't airing it in public. Definitely the best approach but what Ronaldo did the other night has likely burnt his relationship with the manager for good.

Not in anyway defending what he did yesterday but not a single person on this forum knows what it takes to succeed like he has.

To be able to keep going at such an elite level for this length of time is just mind boggling. I can only imagine the dedication and sacrifice he has had to endure to be where he is. He is very single minded and I can understand how such a person could react in that way when the realisation starts to set in that he is approaching the end of his career much faster than he thought, his status has waned and perhaps his ending is not going to be in a blaze of glory he wished for.

I wish him well and I hope that his ending at United fits with the wider success story of his career. I think he deserves it.Very petulant yesterday, extremely disappointing.

Clubs dont "allow" agents to speak.

Why would Ronaldo agree personal terms if United wont sell to that club?

I think it's just as likely that the people in charge thought forcing Ronnie to stay would lead him into being a useful player for us. Maybe ETH thought the same (per his own remarks). A mistake in hindsight.

I'm not convinced this is true.
That's on you. There was enough reporting from very good sources that all the deals Mendes was pushing us to consider included us covering quite a bit of his wages. I think Athletico were interested at a lower rate but Mended insisted on the same wages he's on and wanted us to cover the rest.

Pathetic statement from Ronaldo, he doesn't even say anything. Half said "the heat of the moment got the better of him" but doesn't apologize to the club, coach or fans. Nah. Don't play him another minute. He's done at United for me. Easier to decide because he's shite on the pitch anyway, but yeah.
