Messi hasn't had a great time at PSG, Ronaldo wants to go.

A swap deal could make sense. For both clubs it's a renewed commercial benefit as new deals will always hold more energy for shirt sales and commercial deals.

I've not seen this rumoured for clarity, but just keen to understand the feelings on this.

Assume the commercials will look after themselves either way. Messi is younger so there might be a cost, but let's not worry about all that as I'm sure both deals would fund themselves.
 
No. Messi gets paid a fortune to stroll through the pitch and maybe go on a slalom run twice per game these days

I thought United fans wanted industrial players that buy into a pressing philosophy?
 
Both earning the same, yeah why not. Not expecting much from either, but having Messi for a year could be good fun
 
In a heartbeat, Messi as a false 9 in Ten Hag set would ripe the EPL apart even now.
 
Yes, Messi is a much better, more creative player and also younger. Not going to happen though.
 
I don’t really want either but if we must have one, Messi for a year for the novelty of it would be fun.

I haven’t followed his PSG career closely, what’s his general stance on being left on the bench? I really started to be annoyed by Ronaldo after that Brentford game when he was going insane on the bench because he was substituted.

This is the aspect that most intrigues me!

It would be the ultimate freaky Friday moment in football.

I think Ronaldo is more suited to us as the out and out striker. I don't think Messi would manage well against the deep defending teams in the Prem.

I also think physically that Ronaldo may have longer left despite being older.

But if Ronaldo really wants to go and therefore we were left with a hole I think Messi would be a very interesting prospect to watch. He'd definitely get the game time one way or another!
 
If Ronaldo wants to go, you sell him and buy attacker. You don’t swap him with a player that is less suited to Premier League.

Yeah I would actually. I’d rather we didn’t have either but finally seeing Messi in the PL might be fun.
 
Is he actually a bit shit now or just totally disinterested? 6 goals all season in Ligue 1 is piss poor, but whenever I watched him he‘d never get out of his own half.
 
Yes, it's Messi. Watching Messi at Old Trafford for United would be one of the most memorable things that will ever happen to any football fan.

Remember, football's entertainment at the end of the day and watching special players play for your club is part of the magic of it.

I'd have it but it wouldn't happen.

Messi will run down his contract and return to Barca next summer.
 
Messi is a great player. He makes Ronaldo seem like marathon man though. No way he would make it in this United team, zero effort.

I would prefer to have Ronaldo, but don’t really want either of them.
