Pogba connection would give us a good chance of landing him if it came down to him choosing but wouldn't be fussed at that price

I just think we can do better than Lukaku at a lower transfer fee.

There's always a possibility. With Auba at Dortmund requesting to go, and I don't know if Torino will stay true to the buyout clause. While the money would be large, the quality of a proven scorer in the EPL while only 24 is not a bad buy. In this system we saw Ibra star, and it could be argued he should have 5 or more goals. I would prefer a cheaper option, but this isn't a bad option.

We should get Morata in the De Gea deal and be shrewd, Lukaku is not worth the money touted and not good enough to build a team around, which you have to with a 1 dimensional forward like him.

You're right about that! Personally I'd go for Morata. He wants to play 90 minutes per match in the major competitions (domestic league and CL) and he probably won't get it next season either. I just get the feeling that Lukaku has his eyes set abroad a few years from now, that he'd want to leave us too, eventually. Morata is already at a top club. Fortunately for the clubs interested in signing Morata know that he wants to be the main guy, which he won't be at Real Madrid. Bring him here!

This silly notion of 'EPL proven' is why PL players are overrated and overppriced. Does it not raise any flags in your mind why such a 'great young striker' has gotten no interest from clubs outside the PL?

A good point in this post as well.

I'd rather Lukaku than Kane. To be he seems like the sort of player who'd likely be consistent performer in this league for years to come. I can see Kane fading as a goalscoring threat.

Used to think this but surely Kane has proved he's at least a 20 goal a season now from here on in.

Don't ever see him fading. Not sure he'll ever be in the very top bracket of PL forwards (Ronaldo, Suarez, Henry) but should be firmly amongst the tier below.

I think it maybe a physique thing. Lukaku looks like he can handle himself being a forward at a club like United.

I don't know what Kane needs to do in order for people to get convinced that he is a really great player. He is intelligent, has decent technique and has scored 32, 28 and 35 goals in his last 3 seasons.

He is a far better player than Lukaku.

Kane is a lot less reliant on physical attributes than Lukaku, Lukaku's movement and touch is poor but he's a fast and powerful bulldozer that can be hard to handle. If Costa stays at Chelsea I think he'll remain at Everton, hopefully we are too smart to waste enormous money on him and PSG have re-signed Cavani and are linked with Aubameyang.

According to Jamie Jackson Jose is obsessed with Lukaka

Good thing Jamie Jackson knows jackshit. He's going to cost an absurd sum of money, Everton bid 10 million for Pickford but want 100 million for him. It's tough doing business with any English club, although if Costa ends up staying at Chelsea you have to wonder where he will go.

The Daily Star would turn their nose up at Jamie Jackson. Guy is an idiot.

100m?

That's crazy money for a limited primadona of a striker.

Would be ludicrous to sign him for more than 50-60 million pounds (hype, brand, young etc.).

I'd rather belotti or aubamyeang

Seriously?
Kane 29 goal in 29 games vs Lukaku 25 goals in 36.

Griezmann and Lukaku sounds like a good partnership to me.

I rather have lukaku than Belotti. Lukaku is proven in the premier league and is more technical gifted. Belotti from what I see is just a built Javier Hernandez. I rarely see individual brilliance from him and he seems to rely heavily on his team for support.

If we're willing to spend £100m, then the likes of Bale and Lewandowski would be available. I rate Lukaku but not at that price.

In my opinion yes, shit team with a shit manager, finished 7th and won nothing.
You're right - Everton aren't good. Lukaku wouldn't cost 100 million either, it's paper bullshit.

Offer them Rooney and 60 million. Take it or leave it.

Would like Lukaku, has proven himself to be the most consistent striker in Premier League in last 2/3 seasons bar Aguero and Kane, who are basically not available.

Would much prefer we spend 80m on Lukaku than 60m on Belotti.

Nobody will pay that kind of money for Lukaku and he won't sign another lengthy contract, so he will leave for nothing.
He will be 25, in his prime, and Everton won't get a penny.

That only leaves the question do the Lukaku goals earn them 100m over the length of his contract (e.g. with him they make champions league, without him they fail to make it). I don't see how it does.

£70-80 million for a player who seems to guarantee 30 goals a season in the market where John Stones is a £50 million centre back sounds like a bargain. And I reckon that's the region Everton will sell him for. Everton talk a good game, but they'll cave in.

Griezmann and Lukaku would do nicely. Pogba is also mates with both, i can see a nice threesome there

Lukaku tends to look an absolute mediocrity in the games v teams above them, but he does smash the rest of the league.
And that's with Everton who are hardly dons of attack.

The problem is that they're centred around Lukaku, and we'd have to be to get the best result.

£100m is clearly madness. Half of that sounds huge too, but at least you're getting a guy into his prime. Presumably.

Could work in a 3-5-2 if we planning to use that and maybe that's why Jose wants Perisic as the left wing back. As we do not have any attacking fullbacks like Valencia on the left side.

According to you, 14 of the 20 ie. the 70% of PL teams are shite and that would make United barely better than shite.

I advise you lay off whatever you have been on

Costa: "If the club intend to sell me in order to bring in another striker then obviously I will leave, but as I said there is only one club I'd leave for -- everyone knows the team I like -- Atletico? Yes, everybody knows this."

So what happens to Lukaku?

I really hope we don't go for him, especially with at the prices being reported. I always thought he'd end up back at Chelsea, but if that doesn't happen, I really can't see anyone paying close to 100 million for him.

I'm really undecided on this one. I think I'll be happy if we get him but not gutted if he goes to Chelsea. If it's the case of giving them Rooney and £30m, I'd do it.
