100 for Lukaku, 50 for Dier.

Mourinho was right when he said there will be the day everybody will think of the Pogba Transfer as a bargain.

It seems this day will be there sooner than I thought...

Lukaku is a much better bet than someone like Belotti on whom lot are keen, folks need to remember this is Belotti's first season where he is performed at this level. Add to the fact he'd be coming from a different league and would take time to adjust to the pace of PL and you're again playing catch up to the rest.

We need a forward who can hit the ground running and Lukaku has been scoring goals ever since he came to England, I personally think he is a downgrade on Ibra but then again most forwards would be. There are deficiencies in his game but it hasn't held him back, he's been scoring 20 goals a season for five years now. When you can score 17 goals while playing for West Brom, then you can score goals anywhere. Our downfall has been failing to finish likes of Burnley, Stoke, West Brom, Hull etc. this season. Lukaku can help us in that regards, if you're looking at someone who can score crucial goals in tight matches then that should be left to another signing in Griezmann.

Prices went mental long time ago, no player plying their trade in PL would come cheap. PL clubs are stacked with cash, they have absolutely no incentive to get rid of their best players for anything less than an absurd sum of money. Lukaku is Everton's best player and would probably move for a close to world record sum so ultimately it's up to the club to make a choice whether to overpay for players playing in England or look abroad for alternatives. As for Pogba being a bargain, a resident Everton fan already made a claim few weeks back of Lukaku being a better player than Pogba so...

No chance we pay £100m for Lukaku, imo. If we buy him it'll surely be for less than that. The club won't spend that much on a single player.

If Costa leaves we'll definitely need more than one new striker.
What about that Batshuayi guy? And don't you have some decent youth strikers?

Is that the release clause? Some mad Scouse "compo" shenanigans going on here. Let's offer 100 million and 1 pound and see if they scornfully rebuff us.

They're delusional if they think they'll get that for a player who's contract is running down and wants to leave.

I would be surprised if we went for Lukaku given that Mou didnt like his attitude at Chelsea, where Lukaku was said to have demanded he be guaranteed a starting spot or be allowed to leave.

I think so, that's where we're weakest. Taking chances.
Two strikers and a midfielder and most fans would be happy.
Morgan and Dapay have raised 50m between them already, sell Fellaini and its up to 51m.
Jones sold to fund Keane and Darmian and Shaw gone to fund a LB purchase.
Get Antoine and Lukaku for 150m odd and it isn't that far fetched. That would be net -100m for an overhaul of the squad which wouldn't be too bad.
Get back in the knife drawer

Why people don't want Lukaku beats me.

He has been scoring loads of goals since he was 18, he is the premier leagues best marksman this season (in a league with the like Aguero, Costa, Kane, Sanchez, Zlatan etc), he's quick for his size, he is hungry and desperate to prove his worth, he is arrogant and he is young.

Plus, he is certainly an upgrade to anyone in United in goalscoring terms at the moment.

He's a monster. Get him and pair him with Marcus Rashford.

More importantly, get Pogba, Martial, Mata, Herrera etc chipping in goals regularly and we'll hold our own against the very best in Europe.

He didn't 'like' Mata too but here we are. Jose is a cold blooded trophy seeking manager. He'll dump his sentiments if he is convinced Lukaku can deliver him goals. He signed Pedro despite all the La Liga bad blood. I am sure he will sign Kevin de Bruyne today if he has the chance. The lad has proven himself.

He didnt have a problem with Mata, just felt that Oscar was a better player for the #10 role at that point. I dont recall Mata asking to be sold. He sold Mata cos the offer from United was too good and he wanted to buy Matic

Lukaku demanded he be the guaranteed starter or be sold. Mourinho likes his players to work hard and earn their spot.

Edit: If Mata wasnt already at United, doubt Mou would have bought him

You have a good point there.

About Lukaku, he has said a few times that he had no problems with Jose. One re-occurring pattern in Mourinho's career is his willingness to let unhappy players leave. He seems to have no qualms about it and even encourages them to leave. He also wouldn't stop them from being sold to direct rivals if that is what they want and they have earned the right to be respected enough for such a decision (e.g Petr Cech).

I have absolutely no proof for this but if Jose is truly keen on Lukaku as it is being reported, it must be because Lukaku has turned out to be the player Jose hoped he could be at Chelsea and Lukaku himself, despite what he experienced under Jose at Chelsea, has assured his former manager that he is still willing to play for him at United.

Some of you are buggin, Lukaku has taken a big step this year with his finishing. He's a monster who's PL proven. I'd happily take him for the right price. Ideally around 45m but considering his golden boot season and age, will likely go for 60m.

100m for Lukaku will make Pogba looks like a bargain. If he , let's say, goes to Chelsea for this price I would love to see the English media hypocrisy in treating him differently from the harsh criticism Pogba was getting for the slightest mistake.

From what I've seen, I'd much rather have Lukaku over Belotti, especially if they are sold for similar amounts.

I like Lukaku but the price is scandalous, no way will anyone pay that.

I think this can really happen if we make CL. Raiola has a good working relationship with the club and Pogba is no doubt recruiting Lukaku like he has with Greizmann. Also I've read that Conte prefers Morata because he worked with him at Juve and rates him higher. He'd probably also be cheaper than Lukaku.
Lukaku at United next season is very realistic IMO and would be a great thing.

Don't want him here. Can't warm to a forward player who has so little silk to his game.

Yes indeed, at least there wont be any acclimatization process with Lukaku and he has consistently scored lots of goals for the last few seasons.

Is Diego Costa much more Silkier?

I'm not his biggest fan either to be honest, although I respect him. And yes, anyway, to answer the question. Costa can generally be trusted to control the ball, and Zidane also think his close control is superior to Lukaku.

Costa has given away possession more times per game than Lukaku (6.6 dispossessions+poor touches per game vs 4.5). In terms of poor touches only, it's 3.2 for Costa per game vs 2.1 for Lukaku.

Lukaku is as good as Costa technically (not that the bar is high)

Everton better hope they manage to sell him cos next summer he'll be in the final year of his contract and you know Riaola will be wanting another big wedge.

Big fan of Romelu. Feel if we can add a player with World Class delivery we could really damage lower placed teams.

I had no idea about this - he enters final year next season and they still expect 100m?

 Throw 35m and see if it sticks. Wankers.

That's the tough part. These players are terribly goal-shy...the whole lot of them.

Exactly! Mo'fo's can go do one, Fellaini was the final straw, the sooner they feck off the better.

lol at Lukaku commenting all over Chelsea instagram celebrations. guy loves that club

Given we are mixed up in one of his agent's current dodgy dealing shennanigans we'll steer clear of him and his client this summer.

That might change real soon in the light of those recent findings regarding his conflict of interest in Pogba's transfer.

It would end up exactly like Benteke at Liverpool did. The 'big lump' who can't play in small spaces type should be avoided at all costs.

That won't be the case since they are 2 completely different types of CF's. Benteke is 16 yard box only type of anchor striker that doesn't do much outside the box other than heading the ball down, whilst Lukaku is much more agile and has superior technique to Benteke as well as he's participating in buildup regularly, albeit he needs to improve in that segment.

We are the only ones that would consider paying anything near 100M for Lukaku , and it would be madness. The way to make Pogba look good value is not by overspending on other players.

I reckon Chelsea would consider it too, especially of they sell Costa for 90 million.

Watching this I cannot see how people believe he has the touch of a mule. Obviously he isn't Iniesta but he holds the ball up well, keeps possession etc.

I know it's a highlights package but pretty comprehensive clips of him playing with his back to goal.
