You're just digging yourself a deeper hole, Marca are hardly the outlet you want to visit for a balanced piece. They'll print whatever it takes to paint Madrid in a good light, have you forgotten about the photoshop pic?

As for Lukaku, he scored 25 goals last season in PL while playing for a midtable side. He'd have won the golden boot too had Harry Kane not stat padded vs likes of Leicester and Hull in last week. Rashford comparison is laughable considering he went six months without a league goal last season, again I don't think you've seen enough of Lukaku.

If you are baffled by how players can be worth this much, your club paid 45 million Euros for a 16 year old kid in this window. Irony is smacking you in the face, so stop embarrassing yourself further and take a hike.

Basically this, no amount of whinging can hide the fact that price is absurd for both players. At least with Lukaku he's a proven goal scorer in England.
Lukaku does a lot of stat padding too does he not? :p

Spanish media were pretty consistant that we were always asking for €90m just that Man Utd refused to meet it.

Perez never changed his mind once. But enjoy Benteke 2.0. Lol

It's been widely reported (by the BBC amongst others) that Lukaku was always Mourinhos first choice and that Woodward has been trying to make a deal all summer. Turns out our club has finally sealed up all those transfer leaks :)

I thought he was alright in the air? Saw stats yesterday that showed he'd scored a lot of headed goals?

He's okay in the air, kinda like Ibra. They are not as good as they should be given their physique. Lukaku has scored headed goals but they are your usual run of the mill type of headers, scored more due to timing and positioning than just brute force like Drogba and Falcao did.

Lukaku does a lot of stat padding too does he not? :p

He sure does but I remember Lukaku was leading the charts comfortably before Kane went mental in last week. Scored b2b hat-tricks to deny him.

There is a distance between rubbish and having doubts about a good player. I wouldn't be surprised if Lukaku was our version of Mario Gomez, will score goals but lacks something.
That may end up being true, but Gomez could never score goals like he did against Man City.

Yes he will never be "agile" or have amazing balance but he makes that up by being a battering ram, that's fine. If he scores 25 goals a season for us I am sure we will be very happy. Hell I could have put up with Rooney's dodgy touches if he still banged them in like that.

Benteke and Lukaku; do they have similar playing styles? Nope. But hey, let's make shit up.

Both from Belgium, both 6'3 both have very similiar skill sets, both bang in goals for mid table clubs, both have now made absurd signings to bigger clubs

We'll see if Lukaku can perform better than Benteke did at Liverpool.

Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha ha

Yea he actually wants to be at madrid??? Nope
He is happy perez priced him out of the move he wanted??? Nope
He really doesn't want football in a world cup year??? Nope
will chavski pay 90M for him??? Nope
Did he go to perez and get him to allow him to leave???? Nope

And you think its us that did all this to him??? You are living in a bubble man, he is angry at madrid and anything that rag of a mouth piece you claim as fact says is so biased to the extreme that you actually believe the lies they say. You probably actually believe United fecked up at the DDG deal when real balked at the last min and decided to keep Navas.

Although perez true to form tried his best to turn it all back on united and expected everyone to discount the actual times on the fax. Its the loopy show in IMAX. Hey enjoy your delusion, but dont try and twist reality. The loopy show is in spain not in the cafe. Oh and try telling Morata he isn't upset at Real, thats an episode we'd all love to see
We'll just to wait and see that I'm right, whoops to see who is right I mean

But you can understand the doubts? It's not a final sentence or pretending that Lukaku is rubbish. Just plain and simple doubts which can be worrying when paired with that type of fee. For what it's worth I like Gomez.

But it's being reported that koeman expected lukaku back by now and they are now training at UCLA, not so much "holidaying"
Everton are supposed to be furious with him for not returning. The transfer has not gone through yet and to be fair he has disrespected Everton all through this so should people really be surprised.

Morata isn't disgruntled or upset at Real Madrid, see latest front page at Marca for his coments.

If anything he would be upset at Man Utd. In the end we made Man Utd pay an obscene amount of money for a player no better than Rashford really and not a proven world beater and someone with no experience in the biggest stages, in the biggest competitions. It baffles me how these players can be worth this much.

If Chelsea comes then good if not we keep a proven backup who can score 20 goals off the bench at better than a goal/90. Win-win.
RM didn't make us pay anything! Are you completely stupid? Seems so.

It's 75 plus bonuses. Why do you include Rooney in this? We were looking to sell him anyway, and I doubt anyone would pay a fee considering his wages.

Exactly. As if anyone is going to pay money to buy Rooney.

It depends what you're after. If you expect him to be a playmaking forward then sure he might not live up to expectations. If you want a targetman who scores plenty, a bit of a flat track bully then he will be great. I can see him scoring many hat tricks for us

Ah
Marca. I remember when they painted Rose Bowl in white to seem it has lots of Madrid fans.

Amount of drivel you wrote in just a few posts is astonishing.

that just took desperation to a new level .

we have been crap for the last few years while madrid have been winning champions leagues but we are still a bigger club with more fans and more money.

i used to have respect for real and remember reading an article about how madrid offered to help us after the munich disaster and even offered to loan us players like di stefano for free (amazing of them really) but they have turned into a narcissistic shower of shit of a club and that white hanky thing makes me cringe.

Can we actually believe that though? If so, why were we bidding for Morata and agreeing personal terms for him?

I'm looking for someone that can be instrumental for a perennial CL semi finalist. Long term my expectations for United are to challenge for the PL every year and reach the CL semi finals every other years.

Every player lacks Something. Its the name of the game. You just have to adapt against all odds and Win with ruthless mentality. Man united traditionally can never play like barcelona Because this league is different. Yet We can Mix and Play proactive with the LVG effect.

Hahaha a bigger club? hahahahaha

No

More fans, more money, but never a bigger club

Can I ask a serious question to the older Man Utd fans.

Do you not resent going for players like Lukaku and Morata? Seems beneath Man utd to be fair.

Some people arguing with a blinded and disappointed Real poster, that we didnt finance indirectly his new shiny toy Mbappe this summer. Sweet

Morata?

So many transfers fall at the last hurdle, wouldn't make sense to put all your eggs in one basket and then have to start from scratch. Multiple players identified, deals sounded out and offers made.

Well yes. He struggled at Liverpool so can't see him hacking it at Chelsea. Liverpool fans are pretty patient with their players, Chelsea's might not be the same.

Nowhere near good enough for a top team as he displayed at Liverpool. He'll do ok for Palace and he should stay put.

I made a very important point yesterday about how he also likes almost perpetual drizzle and to be cold, which is why Manchester should suit him very well. Not clear Morata feels the same way. You might have missed it, given it didnt make you list, but that's OK.

TBF Morata thrived in Turin whose Italy shithole in terms of weather. What concerns me about Morata was

a- He never been a regular first team lone striker before. Some might say that Benzema is a great player which is fair enough. However I cant see why he couldn't win his spot against the likes of Llorente, Zaza or Mandzukic

b- Real had been treating the boy horribly. They first sent him to Juventus without barely ever giving him games. Once he started building some reputation they recalled him only to send him at the bench and they had been courting Mbappe for so long despite Morata had served them admirably. Yet, despite all that + United were geniunely interested in him, the Spaniard refused to handle a transfer request. Which makes you wonder, does he really want to leave Madrid? Did we risk being used as ADM did?

Beneath Man Utd?! What are you going on about?

Morata looks like a player that could provide more than goals while scoring a lot but the sample of games is relatively small which brings its own doubts.

No such player available. You are talking about a striker in the mould of Lewandowski or Aguero. There are 6-7 such strikers in the world at this moment. Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Lewa, Aguero, Neymar, Griezmann and that's probably it. I'm convinced we were very close to signing Griezmann, which could happen next year.

Lukaku is ofcourse a tier below, but he's only 24, he can still improve.

Serious question, are you smoking crack? Like, copious amounts of pure grade crack? Thanks.

But you have players worth adapting and other that aren't worth it. Mario Gomez is among the latter and I wonder if it's not the same with Lukaku but like always when he is a United player, his fee won't matter to me and I will just support him and the team.

Ive never been to Turin but I know it is supposed to have worse weather than the rest of Italy, but I find it hard to believe its comparable to Manchester.

But yeah, Morata seemed eager to join, I wasnt really worried about an ADM situation to be honest but its true he could have and probably should have handed in a transfer request if he really wanted to come.

Anyway Im not feeling bad for this kid at all, things will work out for him one way or the other. Even if he stays and spends a large part of the season on the bench, its not the worst fate in the world. If he really wants to move he'll force one through.
