Mate even if you'd have sold him to us you'd be pretty happy unless you had something against him coming to United? :) Lukaku meets our requirements for what we require at the present. That's about it. We can improve a player. When we bought Yorke all those years ago, you would have laughed. When we bought Cole, you would have laughed. Fools laugh. Mbappe? He's had one season. Auba? No ones gone for him. Cavani? No one wants him. Lewandowski? Settled in Germany. The premiership top clubs - despise selling to each other. The more money we have, the less that will happen. They would rather take less from abroad. So signing Kane would be as difficult as re-signing Ronaldo. We couldn't get Modric. They simply wouldn't sell. That's the nature of our leagues. We don't have buy out clauses. So enjoy your boring league with it's egotical bull....We're just happy to be signing someone who can score goals. If the players wants to, we will improve Lukaku.

Pointless to argue mate, I doubt he's seen much of Lukaku apart from the odd clip on YouTube. They're bitter because we were extremely close to financing their Mbappe deal but it's gone tits up due to Lukaku signing.

There are lots of better strikers than Lukaku in the world, couple of them in PL itself. But they are either already settled at established European clubs or at a rival club where deal isn't possible. Prising them would be an impossible task and we'd be wasting our time with them.

For once? Third time in the last two years (Pogba and De Gea too).

Shh, according to Real fans they never wanted Pogba because if they wanted him he'd be there already. As for De Gea, he's a massive cnut for not causing a shitstorm to force a move. Morata well we didn't agree to their demands. Evil evil Man United.

that's a rather simplistic (although correct) way to see it

Adv with signing Lukaku

a- He has been playing as a regular first team striker for years. Morata has yet to prove himself able to do that
b- He's EPL proven
c- Lukaku had adapted well in England, We're close to Lukaku's agent + he's already have mates at OT. Morata might easily turn into the next ADM especially if Real comes knocking at his door again
d- We screwed Real Madrid (ie our rival in terms of marketing) big time. They end up with less cash to bring in Mbappe and with a disgrunted employee who wants out.
I made a very important point yesterday about how he also likes almost perpetual drizzle and to be cold, which is why Manchester should suit him very well. Not clear Morata feels the same way. You might have missed it, given it didnt make you list, but that's OK.

Morata isn't disgruntled or upset at Real Madrid, see latest front page at Marca for his coments.

If anything he would be upset at Man Utd. In the end we made Man Utd pay an obscene amount of money for a player no better than Rashford really and not a proven world beater and someone with no experience in the biggest stages, in the biggest competitions. It baffles me how these players can be worth this much.

If Chelsea comes then good if not we keep a proven backup who can score 20 goals off the bench at better than a goal/90. Win-win.

Marca obviously being the place to look for unbalanced reporting of the facts.

I see someone has just invented a €114m figure which has no basis in reality and is now calling that the fee as fact.

Gotta love these people.

Only one of Lukaku's 25 league goals last season was a penalty. Forget Ibrahimovic, RvP, Rooney, Berbatov. You have to go all the way back to 2007/08 Ronaldo to find a United player who scored that many non-penalty goals in a season.

Morata is equally a rip off at 90 million euros as Lukaku is.

Neither of them are worth that money. We just preferred someone who scored goals in our league.

Ah
Marca. I remember when they painted Rose Bowl in white to seem it has lots of Madrid fans.

Amount of drivel you wrote in just a few posts is astonishing.

You just paid €45m for a 16 year old kid who hasn't played a senior game and had a €30m release clause in his contract. I don't think your in any position to be criticising anybody's transfer dealings.

You called the second highest scorer in the league last season Benteke 2.0. You don't know what you are talking about.

The season before they came 10th due to Jose losing the dressing room they came 1st. The season after they came 10th they came 1st. That's 1st, 10th then 1st. They have a fantastic team and are ahead of us if you can't see we are playing catch up then you can't be helped.

It takes time for players to bed in the quicker you get them in and settled the better you are not wasting weeks or months bedding them in when the PL has started. If you can't see that i cant help you anymore there either.

All you seek is bragging rights among your mates. Players use pre-season to get their fitness back, match rhythm and chemistry are learned during the season. They train every blessed day, they don't have other jobs but to eat and rest. What happens in July and August is mostly fitness, these players are getting their fitness up as well at their respective clubs. The chemistry and match rhythm is learned on the pitch during the season not during trips to China or Los Angeles where these players play with youth players.

The need to have transfers completed first week in June is nothing more than to satisfy your mupertry. So what Woodward have list in March? No club will be willing to talk to anyone until the season is over. Your assumption that players arriving in May or June equals better season for team is not based on facts, it's a personal opinion from some echo room.

Morata also not worth that much, neither do Morata is world beater, you just having a complete meltdown. Calling Lukaku no better than Rashford just sound stupid really.

Anyone quoting 10/15 Million fee for Rooney on top of his salary is absurd.

Any team who takes on Rooney's salary is doing us a favour. Never mind a fee, If anything, I'm positive we'd have had to subsidise his salary had he moved to another club. People calling the transfer fee higher than 75 Million quoted are just deluding themselves or Everton fans wanting to feel good.

You're just digging yourself a deeper hole, Marca are hardly the outlet you want to visit for a balanced piece. They'll print whatever it takes to paint Madrid in a good light, have you forgotten about the photoshop pic?

As for Lukaku, he scored 25 goals last season in PL while playing for a midtable side. He'd have won the golden boot too had Harry Kane not stat padded vs likes of Leicester and Hull in last week. Rashford comparison is laughable considering he went six months without a league goal last season, again I don't think you've seen enough of Lukaku.

If you are baffled by how players can be worth this much, your club paid 45 million Euros for a 16 year old kid in this window. Irony is smacking you in the face, so stop embarrassing yourself further and take a hike.

Morata is equally a rip off at 90 million euros as Lukaku is.

Basically this, no amount of whinging can hide the fact that price is absurd for both players. At least with Lukaku he's a proven goal scorer in England.

Flat track bully though..

To be honest no matter who we signed or whoever goes for big fee's or gets lavish praise will always hear some bollocks. People used to say that about Ronaldo too..

Imagine if we played Smalling upfront last season

Jesus christ you sound like a fecking child.

Neil Henderson of the BBC reporting that the Lukaku deal is a £100m in total. £75m + £15m in variables plus waiving Wayne Rooney's £10m asking price.

It is why the deal happened so quickly.

Won't pay more than £66m for Morata but £100m for Lukaku. ********ing stupid.

In what world is Lukaku worth €114m
The fecking balls of this post.
This time last year you and your lot were calling United and Juventus every name under the sun for pricing Pogba at 90m. You painted yourselves as some sort of moral crusaders for walking away from a deal that you deemed excessive.
Now you're upset we didn't pay 90m for a striker who was so important for you that he played 25 mins of CL football from the last 16 onwards. A striker who has a worse goal scoring record than Juan Mata.

An absolute joke.
Madrid got played yet again, it's time to deal with it.

1) You haven't, if Morata wasn't a #1 target then you really haven't.

2) Lukaku not better than Rashford? What's the basis for that?

feck sake, can't Ed get his head out of his ass, I cannot believe we are signing Benteke 2.0 for €114m!!!!!! FFS!!!

Madrid made us buy a player no better than Rashford. Jesus wept.

You called the second highest scorer in the league last season Benteke 2.0. You don't know what you are talking about.
Both from Belgium, both 6'3 both have very similiar skill sets, both bang in goals for mid table clubs, both have now made absurd signings to bigger clubs

We'll see if Lukaku can perform better than Benteke did at Liverpool.

You need to take a break man

Rooney with his current situation and massive salary commands absolutely zero fee, any bloody idiot who knows a single thing about football understands that.

So even jim white has conceded this position from yesterday. Literally no one now saying there is no agreement?

Also everyone repeating it has to think back to all those 1-1 draws we had after leading 1-0. The second goal wouldn't be counted as a winner but they would be just as important as the first. We need someone who can regularly kill teams off. Score that second goal.
This is absolutely spot on.

I also can't believe that we, a British club are paying another British club in euros, brexit should mean brexit.

Madrid made ManUtd to pay the money. Just stop it, you made yourself look like an idiot. Don't dig the hole deeper.

Can somebody clarify if Lukaku would be homegrown? By my understanding of the rule, he spent 3 years in England before he was 21 so he should be homegrown, which is a big plus in my opinion. Sorry if it's already been discussed.
