Hopefully it wont fall through on the last minute. Reading Chelsea is prepairing an offer aswell.

What's there to prepare. We have had a bid accepted, and all they have to do is match it. I'd be surprised if they do though, you only put in a bid once you agree personal terms with the player himself. We've almost wrapped this up, apart from a few little details.

At 75m, is he really overpriced?

I view him in the bracket below the top strikers: Aguero, Neymar, Suarez, Lewa etc. He's more with the likes of Morata and Kane (Kane probably ahead IMO).

So my question is, how much would one of those top strikers (and Kane for arguments sake) actually cost? You're looking at 140m+ IMO. So almost half of that isn't seriously overpriced. Couple that together with the fact that we can't sign any of those top strikers anyway, it's the best deal all round.

The real question is whether he can make the step up to the elite level. To be honest, I haven't watched him enough (the same with Morata) to know whether that's possible.

Pogba and Lukaku training at UCLA!!

Agent Pogba!
i can't believe a friend of an everton fan was the first to break this story. But i guess after all these wacky moves behind the scenes it kind of makes sense that a dude walks up to the player as is just told :lol:

And?

Hazard has a lot to prove himself in the cl and internationally. But he has the talent where it won't be a surprise if he makes the leap in a breakout season.

So, if it had been 75 million for Hazard, who has exactly the same downside as Lukaku that the post was about "that he has done nothing at international level" that the criticism "he has done nothing at international level" would be leveled against him?

I hate to break it to you, but United don't play in international competitions, and if you cast your mind back to our league and champions league winning teams, none of the players we had then had done anything at international level either.

So let's just put that notion that international performance has any relevenace to club football to bed as utter bollocks shall we?

Otherwise the likes of Messi, Auguero, Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Scholes, Beckham, Giggs, Cantona, Stam and hundreds of other players would never have won anything because they would be playing for Barnsley or Stockport because "they haven't done anything at international level".

1. 75m base fee + 15m in "easy" addons + Rooney on a free transfer

2. Discussion over lukaku have been going for WEEKS

3. Conte fuming but won't resign.....yet

4. Koeman has "rubber stamped" rooney's return

5. Rooney will get a "reduced salary"

Last season he scored against Shitty, Spurs and Arsenal. The season before he scored against Liverpool, Shitty and Chelsea (2 goals).

You got me. He does score - what I probably meant was that he needs to show up more - but a goal is a goal. Here's the goals I could find:

Arsenal: Penalty kick

Spurs:

City:

Liverpool:

Chelsea:

We should have had 3 signings sealed before the tour to give us a good shot at the title next season. Woody has had a poor window.
Why stop at 3?
We should do like the other big clubs like Real, Barca, City, Chelsea, Juve and already have 5 signings by now. Shame on you Woody.

Look at Higuain fee, then you would feel easier. Around 29 wheb he moved, no room for growth with bad reputation. Lukaku is still very young, and qualified as home grown. Has grown to be able to score consistently seasons after seasons.

Is the last 10m in regards to us paying out Rooney's contract or making up some kind of difference for him accepting lower salary?

I like the last two parts, to be honest. Lets get this transfer over with. Think he will do well here and also he's a proven goal scorer yet to reach his peak. We have our own version of Drogba for years to come.

we are supposedly waving any transfer fee for rooney, which was supposedly set at 10m

Surprising to see people say they hate how he plays football. The 4 goals vs Bournemouth, all unique and shows his all round game. What's not to like.

And people still will say he's a donkey. Very good vision and technique combined in all of those goals, and yet the haters will say he's only a powerhouse.

I am not convinced about Lukaku long-term tbh; he fits a specific system i.e a system that plays to his strengths. Unless Mourinho stays for 10years, imagine if our next manager is a Klopp Guardiola type of manager(there are more klopp type managers than mourinho type), it will be another Sturridge situation but this time, a 75m problem; and unless the manager adjusts his system to fit lukaku(which is unlikely), then we have a big problem. That is why i would prefer Morata because his all-round play is great and he will easily fit into any system. Maybe i'm being paranoid, but feel free to quote me.

That's what I was thinking - £10m lump sum to Rooney is equivalent to £100k a week for 2 years, and allows Everton to maintain their wage structure

How tall is Lukaku ? Is Pogba 6'4/5?

All very odd him clearly training and holidaying with a Utd player- i know they are friends etc but still weird- hopefully a sign that all this is true.

We all laughed when Jamie Jackson said Mourinho was obsessed with Lukaku- it seems he could be right!

Of course it's true.

you can't see it but Jose is actually hiding in those tree's with a pair of high-powered binoculars :lol::devil:

100m plus Rooney now. That's a lot, a Mbappe lot almost.

He makes plenty of clumsy play overally tbf so people ain't wrong. The thing is not playing stylistically shouldn't be much of a concern for us, we have enough stylistic players in other positions. Just need to kill the game. Lukaku needs to step up though. At times still went missing in big occassions. He is like an anti Welbeck. Slow acceleration & look likecan't sort his feet in stand still position. Deceptively fast when on his stride. Natural goal scorer.

no its 90m plus MUFC waiving a transfer fee for rooney which is "valued" at 10m
Deduct 2 years of Rooney wage as total loss (had he seen it throgh), it's not that bad a fee

I am amused at the idea that Rooney adds £10 million to the deal. If anything that is a massive positive for us(assuming we don't have to pay his remaining salary). The guy is finished and Everton fans will realise that very soon.

I see a lot of people mentioning that. However it has to be remembered that Everton finished miles ahead of the 8th placed team.
Costa is the player who "won" most points for his team at 15 points. If he won those for Everton and they finished where they are this year, taking them away and they still would have finished 7th. It's a pointless stat.

Also everyone repeating it has to think back to all those 1-1 draws we had after leading 1-0. The second goal wouldn't be counted as a winner but they would be just as important as the first. We need someone who can regularly kill teams off. Score that second goal.

Mbappe probably prefers Real Madrid and isn't in a hurry if the move happens next year so paying mbappe money to Monaco isn't going to achieve anything other than triggering Madrid to do the same and have the kid make an obvious choice.

Now get James Rodriquez to do the hoofing. Atleast he does it accurately otherwise it's going to be a full season long painful football.
